A little paradise
"This litlle resort s absolutly charming, a itlle piece of paradise on Pentai Cenang. The tiny swimming pool in the micro luxirious garden is amazing. The restaurant is probably the best of the beach and the breakfast included with the room is giant (hmmm, roti chanai!!!!) The room are good, nice and big, with AC, refirgerator, no TV ( but it will be a shame to come in langkawi to watch the TV) I will definitly com back (hope really soon)"

"The Beach Garden Resort was recommended to us by a friend, and I would like to recommend to it anybody thinking of travelling to Langkawi. It is located right next to the beach, and was probably the most relaxing place we have been to. The beach is not too busy, and the sea is very nice to swim in. The food was excellent and good value at both breakfast and dinner. The room was well sized and contained everything required. Overall, it was an excellent stay."

Cosy and relaxing
"Beach Garden Resort feels like an oasis that is right in the middle of things on Pantai Cenang. The guests have access to sun loungers (and plenty of them) that are next to the restaurant and essentially on the beach - but a little separate. I spent so much time here over the 8 days and continually wondered at how peaceful and beautiful it is. In the evening you can order a glass of wine from the restaurant and watch the local lads playing football in the sand while the sun is setting. I loved the ambience of the hotel. It's simple but beautiful with a well-maintained and colourful garden, Balinese wood ornaments and batik, masks and so on. The restaurant is open-air and an ideal place to eat an incredibly sumptuous breakfast. The pool is described as a plunge pool but it's better than that. My five year old had a great time mucking around with other kids in the pool and I also enjoyed cooling off and floating around for extended periods. BGR is good value for money and a great place for a relaxing holiday. Please feel free to contact me if you want further information."

"The Beach Garden resort is a fantastic low budget hotel on the best beach in Langkawi. I have stayed here on 3 occasions and have also stayed in other Langkawi hotels and resorts. This is by far my favourite. It is right on the beach, has a lovely cocktail menu, the restaurant serves the best breakfasts that I have ever had. Enough to fill you up until dinner time. The German owners are really friendly and helpful too. With only 12 bedrooms, it is a small hotel but many guests from other nearby hotels/resorts use the restaurant and bar in the evening so it doesn't feel too quiet. Yes the rooms are fairly basic but what do you need other than air con and a fridge? You get both of these plus a well maintained, clean room. I am returning here again this year and am truly excited - Langkawi has to be heaven on earth."

Great place to stay
"Overall the Beach Garden Resort (BGR) is a great little place to stay, good location, comfortable beds and great food. It is a little short on luxuries but for the money you really can't complain. We spent 11 nights at the BGR at the start of Feb '07. Having previously spent 8 nights on Langkawi at the Andaman we wanted somewhere smaller with a more local feel and specifically we wanted to be on Pantai Chenang Beach as we felt this would be better for discovering new bars and restaurants and give us more choice. As people have already pointed out the staff are excellent, the food is very good for the price and the rooms are clean, cooled but with basic bathrooms. Over 11 nights at no point did we feel that there was anything wrong with the hotel that would make us not want to stay there again. There are adequate sun loungers although this is the short of place where at 8am most of the loungers have towels on them! That really has more to do with the guests than the hotel though. There is a shaded area off the beach where the majority of the guests spent their days or you can lift a lounger onto the beach and bake in the sun all day if you wish. The location and the value for money really are the two reasons to stay here. The hotel has a lot of charm to it and would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly place to stay that has a bit of soul to it."

"Stayed at the Beach Garden for 5 nights at the end of January with the family and had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and serviced daily and the small fridge made evening drinks enjoyable ! The aircon was more than adequate although the bathroom needs updating. We had memorable meals at the resort's restaurant - great food and stunning location. Also ate at the Orkid Ria nearly next door (whole grilled fish) and at the local pasar malam (night market) cheap and fun. The pool was just perfect and we spent most afternoons cooling off and playing with our 2 year old. The beach is nice but the jelly's were a bit off putting. Special mention must be made to staff who were always smiling and helpful, even preparing a special breakfast for the day we left early to snorkel at Pulau Payar. Recommended and will return."

"We spent 5 nights at the Beach Garden Resort and considered it very good value for money. This is a small resort with only 12 single storey rooms. The rooms are quite basic but adequate. The resort is situated on the beach and sitting having a drink or meal watching the sun set was fantastic. The restaurant was very busy every night which wasn't surprising as the food was excellent, and there was a good selection of reasonably priced wines. The breakfasts were freshly prepared and were also excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a very small swimming pool which was useful for cooling down as we couldn't go in the sea as it was jelly fish season. This is a quiet peaceful resort in a great spot and I would definitely go back."

"We have stayed at the Beach Garden a couple of times now. If we return to Langkawi we will definately stay here again. The location is just perfect. A Beautiful beach. Great for swimming, walking, watersports etc. Plenty of restaurants, shops etc close by. The hotel is just so friendly and very well run. The food is extremely good (though mostly European) and served in the most beautiful beach restaurant. The ambience is warm, relaxing and intimate. The rooms are basic but they are clean. You don't come here to spend time in your room. The pool is small but refreshing. Unless you can't stand to be seperated from 4 star luxury you will take a bit of Beach Garden home in your heart."

Nice Little Budget Resort!
"We stayed at BGR for 2 nights in the last week of November for our honeymoon. We wanted to mix our 5 star stay with a budget resort to keep our costs down and it was a great decision. Firstly, BGR is on the lively Pantai Cenang beach with all shops/restaurants around to hang out in the evening so that was a good decision. Our room was #14, the first on the block and probably the largest since it had an extra bed in there for the same price. The room was much bigger than what we had at Casa Del Mar afterwards and probably this is what saved the stay. The other rooms which we had a peek at were barely enough big for a bed and some luggage. The room is clean and tidy with basic furniture, closets, safe etc The bathroom is nothing to brag about but, its a 2 star budget resort which is what we got. Keeping this in mind will keep your expectations aligned. The staff is very friendly and spent half an hour trying to find a rental car for us. The complimentary breakfast was very nice and so was the dinner that we tried there, pricey however. Bottom line is, its a budget resort so dont head there if you're looking for an exhilerating romantic experience, go to CDM next door or Tanjhung Rhu. If you're strapped for cash however, this is a very good basic resort. Also, mixing it with another hotel for longer stays keeps the experience fresh and you dont get bored with one place."

Great for Budget Travelers
"Good place if you want to stay close to the beach. Very cheap rates make it a good value. Rooms are basic and clean, but thereâs no view from the window, which opens up to the common walkway."
