The staff are fantastic, very friendly. Australian management who are so helpful and can arrange anything you need.Housekeeping staff are terrific. They actually really clean your villa thouroughly.Security on site at all times as well. This truely is a magical place to stay, so peaceful and private.Highly recommended. Can't fault."

Zen Villa - my start for the ultimate in a rejuvenating holiday
"I have just returned from a 10 day stay at Zen Villas Sanur. I had heard lots about the Zen experience from my 19 year old daughter who had stayed there in Jan. 2009.
Zen proved to be an amazing experience for me. This was my first trip to Bali.
From the moment that we arrived we were treated like old friends. Great Aussie management and beautiful local Balinese staff made it a real pleasure - nothing was too much trouble for them !!Located in a quiet area a stroll or bike ride to the shops , restaurants and beach. It was easy to get anywhere. The villas themselves were really well appointed and very spacious. Each villa is surrounded by immaculate lush gardens giving a private and secluded ambiance. At the same time I felt very secure and safe at Zen. I will definitely be enjoying the wonders of Zen ASAP."

We'll be back, for sure
"This was the first time we've decided to stay in a holiday villa instead of a hotel. Reason for this being that we wanted more privacy, when sunbathing and/or swimming. This you don't get at a hotel. After looking on the Internet we'v found the ZEN Villas to be quite attractive, both on facilities offered as well as prices they charged. Also, their replies to our emails came very fast and accurate, making it easy to book with them.
We booked a villa of their "Serenity" type, a 2 bed room villa with a large pool. It was located in a nice, secluded and well-maintaine garden area. The villa was only 3 years old, so nothing to complain on that. All facilities that were mentioned, were indeed offered / present. The housekeeping staff did a good job, cleaned up every the rubbish we'd left behind, changed the linen and towels for fresh ones and we're a pleasure to look at, some beautiful girls they were!
The villas are located in the heart of Sanur and still, when you sit outside your villa at the porch, you hear nothing of the rest of Sanur, amazing. Shops, cafes and restaurants are just a small walk away, and so is the beach.
In the end, we really got what we wanted, a beautiful place to stay and lots of privacy."

"this was our first stay in a villa type accomm in Bali and we loved it . travelling with 3 kids it allowed us all to have space. The villas are beautiful we stayed in villa C and found if perfect. There is a big water dispenser that is refilled when needed.
we had our our swimming pool just outside out bedroom it was lovely to have a swim anytime we wanted day or night. The staff we saw were very nice, all introduced themsleves, the boys at the front gate were always very friendly and helpful.
my only criticism is it is off the main road, only a five minute walk to main road where shops and restaurants are but we would prefer being closer to the main area. Bali pavilions are on main road. i also thought the info book in our villa could have had a map of where we were and where restaurants shops ete are. we knew where things were but only thanks to TA and the forums. Overall the villa experience was excellent.
we ate at Coriander at the main road turn left just a few shops up or Massimos turn right at main road about 10 min walk both good."

"having been to bali before with my wife we decided to introduce our children (8,10,12) to the beauty that is bali. Not wanting a "hotel" vacation we elected to find ourselves a villa (highly recommended). Not expecting much we were nicely suprised by every aspect of Zen Villa. From management to the gardners nothing but first class service and very helpful and suggestive of what are where to go for just about everything. If you are staying for awhile I suggest you also make arrangements with management to stay in their other accomadations in Ahmed (we did not plan ahead for this). I can only imagine the same high quality and service there also. Will certainly be back.

Excellent x Great x Magical = Stunning
"Our 2nd stay at Zen... 1st time ourselves...this time with another couple.
'Twas yet again fantastic.
The great Bali experience where you can walk the lanes to the main road.. from absolute privacy to the tourist life in 700 metres. Or, the best-of-staff will have a taxi waiting for you.
Zen Villas may well have the best layout, location and facilities of any villa set-up in Bali.
We won't be checking if that is true... we will be back each year in May. And, our friends will be there with us.
Thank you again to all at ZenVillas."

value and service for money
"March 2009 my wife and I went to Bali for the sixth time. We found Villa Zen true the internet and the direct contact with Villa Zen was real nice and easy.
At arrival we were surprised by the villa and the hotel surroundings. It made us feel at home from the first moment. The room provides in every needs. A big and clean Villa. Separate living room with nice audio/video and comfortable furniture, a large kitchen with a big fridge, everything you need, some free soft drinks every day and a large, cooled, water container for free use. A big bathroom and a nice bedroom with comfortable beds. And not to forget your own swimming pool. The service of the hotel is outstanding although there are only a few amenities. The use of internet is free, telephone in the room is good (and cheaper than other hotels) and if you like a massage you can order in the comfort of your own room. The room is cleaned every day and the (good English speaking) housekeeping takes there time to clean your room real good. They even do your (small) dishes.
We stayed for 15 nights and never had a moment of thinking to go home.
The hotel is about 400 meters from the main street of Sanur. Walking is easy do able but a taxi arrives in 5 minutes to the hotel and takes you everywhere in Sanur for about ⬠1,00. the same goes for the beach.
At the main street there are real good restaurants. At the boulevard there are also lots of restaurants but we think the quality is less and the prices are higher.
Sanur is a good place if you want to make daytrips. A lot of main roads go true Sanur and itâs quit easy to go everywhere you like to go. Ask for Augusto (the hotel driver). He will tell you nice places to go, even if you donât take him as your taxi driver. Although I would recommend him. His prices are the same as on the street and his driving and English is good. (a lot of taxi drivers in Bali make your daytrip a trip like in a roller coaster and hardly understand you).
As experienced travellers to Asia we highly recommend Villa Zen if you like a perfect, quit, romantic stay where you can go when ever, where ever you feel like it.

Great holiday in Sanur
"We have quite recently returned from a relaxing holiday in Sanur, Bali. We stayed in Zen Villas, which turned out to be very good solution for our family consisting of 2 adults + 2 kids (3 and 5 years). Our two-bedroom villa with a big private pool corresponded to the pictures that are on the web-pages of the property. In general, the pictures presented in Zen Villas own web pages give very good and authentic impression of the nice and peaceful villa area.
Our villa was well equipped, clean, roomy and the facilities were just as stated on the resorts own web pages. Daily maid service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and professional. We certainly can recommend the Zen Villas."

Great family villa, highly recommended
"This was a great find for our family of 4. We had sought advice and comment on peoples first hand experience from Trip Advisor Bali forums and were not disappointed. It was really fantastic.
We booked directly through the hotel. Prices quoted were very competitve, we paid US$115 ++/night for a 3brm villa with private pool.
*****I believe that the rates have subsequently increased since our booking in that they are trying to upscale the property a bit to include breakfast/afternoon tea, drinks, etc in the tarrif*****
All email correspondence was very efficient and timely.
We requested an airport pickup for Rp 100 000 (airport taxi fare is fixed Rp 85 000), we figured that as it was a bit hard to find that would be the way to go.
Very nice grounds, impecably kept. Our villa was about 50m from the main reception desk, around a corner, through a gate - and there it was! Pool was big and crystal clear. Bale with day bed big enough for the 4 of us. Verandah with 6 seater table leading up to the villa. Great sized lounge with plenty of seating, a large screen TV with cable and DVD player. A good sized light and airy kitchen. Well stocked with glasses, cutlery, crockery and utensils. Big fridge, water cooler, kettle, toaster, blender, etc. All we needed in a kitchen!
Main bedroom with ensuite was well decorated and light, beautiful looking out onto the garden at night and in the morning, courtyard windows opened out to a spa.
Second brm and ensuite also light and spacious. The linens were very nice and smelt clean and fresh.
The 3rd brm was more of a little extra add on- single bed, wardrobe, dresser. Fine for one of the kids.
There was lots of storage space in all of the bedrooms and each room had really efficient aircon.
Toiletries supplied were of a nice quality; jasmine soaps, shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser. There was a hairdryer in one of the bedroom drawers.
The towels were all replaced daily and bed linen changed every 4 days (in my opinion that is plenty- I think changing sheets daily is over the top!). The cleaning girls came daily while we were out to straighten up, make the beds up, etc.
It is about 500m down a street running off Jl Danau Tamblingan (main tourist strip road in Sanur). It is close to the Hyatt and quite central to everything in our opinion. Once you got to the main street Hardys supermarket was about an 800m walk. lots of restaurants around. If you had little kids it might be a bit of an issue doing all the walking but for us it was fine- our kids are 13 and 17 and we like to walk. Having said that, the villas provide a free taxi service in Sanur!
The front reception was usually manned by Evie, a very friendly Balinese woman who spoke good English and was very helpful. If you wanted a taxi for the free transport in Sanur she would sort it out straight away, you could call her from your in-villa phone. The reception closed at 5.30 in the evening but there was always a security guard on duty at the front entrance. Evie was also happy to recommend, organise or suggest activities. There was also a small library/book exchange at the reception area.
Email could be accessed free of charge for the office, wireless internet will be available in villa soon for a nominal fee (Rp 300/minute).
So, in summary- we loved it! It was well provisioned, comfortable, elegant and private. We would absolutely recommend it and hope to go back in the future. There are also 2 brm villas available with either normal or plunge pools and various rates are available- we didn't look inside them but they looked nice from the outside. Happy to answer any questions if there's something I haven't covered.
