Rather run down
"A large high rise hotel which spoils the landscape. The lobby is fantastic as are the public rooms and brakfast BUT the corridoors have lots of stained carpets and it is obviously a run down cheap package deal place.Go to Sanur Beach Hotel which is 10 times better. The pools are o.k. with not enough sun beds or shade.Beach nearby is o.k.just.Lots of reseraunts nearby which were mostly empty except Benos beach reseraunt which was excellent.Staff fairly good. This is a quiet spot and not good for teenagers or those who like clubbing."

Great Value for money
"One of Bali,s oldest hotels.Situated in a very quiet part of sanur with near by beach and road resteraunts.Best to pay the little extra for a sea view. The rooms are not fantastic but more than adequate.Gardens are beautiful as are the pools, plenty of sun beds and shade.Beach is nearby but nothing special.Staff very friendly and everywhere is clean.Breakfast is excellent. This area is very quiet at night and not for youngsters or those who like clubs & discos. For a restful chill out it is ideal. All in all for the money it is outstanding value."

"Hotels name: Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel
Had a room in the garden wing on the ground floor with direct door to the garden and the pool (about 20meters away). Bathroom a little bit 'out of time' but not really a problem. Room spacious. Wonderful garden with plenty of space and a nice pool. Beach wonderful but you cannot really swim due to the water level (no water when the tide is out and about 80cm water level at high tide). Good breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. SPA and massages excelent.
Excellent cost/performance ratio."

Great Hotel in Sanur
"We spent 2 weeks at Hotel Sanur Beach and we were delighted wiht the service an the standard of the Hotel. We returned to the Hotel for the 5th time and still its our favourite. This time we even noticed that the management does continue to upgrade and improve the hotel hard and software. The variety and selection of the breakfats items is even better than in the past and garden and beach as always unbeatable
Look for "value for money" do not look further - here you are right"

Great value right on the beach, excellent breakfast and tennis
"We stayed here for 4 nights with an excellent 4th floor room with balcony overlooking beautiful well maintained gardens with a tiny piece of the ocean visible. The breakfasts on the beach were a real treat - excellent choice of buffet foods every morning. The pools were well maintained and spacious. We played tennis on the clay courts - hire the local pro for a partner and rent a racquet all for $8 an hour. Many very inexpensive restaurants ($1 large beer and $3 full meal) located next door along the beachfront. Great selection of TV channels. Hire a car and driver (shop around a bit) for $35 a day to drive you all around the island. Bali is hurting for tourist business and prices are low. For under $50 a night with breakfast by the beach - this is great value."

Beautiful Garden and Friendly People
"I just loved the beautiful setting of this hotel - the gardens inside and within the buildings are lovely with a great range of tropical plants that look well cared for.
The whole grounds are like a tropical garden and a pleasure to walk around - you can find a nice quiet spot to sit and relax away from others and feel like it is your own special spot.
All the staff we dealt with were helpful and always did their best to do whatever we asked to make our visit more enjoyable.
A highlight was the special night for favoured guests with generous hospitality and some attractive deals from some of their partners. We got to meet other people with similar interests and that 'broke the ice' for us for the rest of our visit.
All in all a good spot to stay and we will return in a few months - pleased we found this hotel after staying in others during previous visits"

Hotel Sanur beach is NO dump!!
"The Hotel Sanur Beach is NOT a "dump"
We're here right now, and unless things have changed dramatically in the last month, I cannot see how the previous review rated the hotel as a dump.
Yes, the hotel is quite old (c 1972) but the rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything that you would expect (fridge, safe, cable tv) and excellent aircon. Some of the corridors are a bit dingy - but not awful...
The setting of the hotel is beautiful (extensive gardens bordering the beach). There are two pools with lots of loungers around them and there are more loungers on the beach.
The bars and restaurants are good and we enjoyed a splendid italian meal last night!
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Please come and see for yourself.

What a dump!
"What a dump!! smelly, stained carpets in corridors and rooms, minimal service and sun loungers falling to pieces. The place was seedy and had an overall ambiance of neglect. There are only four umbrellas on the beach area for over 400 rooms - these needless to say were grabbed by pushy Germans each morning. There were no portable umbrellas on the beach and too few around the pools. The pools didn't appear very clean. Thank God we only stayed two nights. Requests for extra towels in rooms were ignored and mini shampoo bottles reused each day - tacky!"

Most enjoyable holiday in Sanur
"We stayed at Hotel Sanur Beach in Feb. and we just loved it. Certainly the property is not most luxury hotel in Bali but if you like value for money do not look further. The staff is very friendly the hotel is embedded in large park like garden and got the best beach in Sanur. We also found that Hotel Sanur Beach is the most complete Resort in Sanur since everything one can expect from a large resort is available (Diving, Kite Surfing, Boating, Jet Ski, Tennis, Pools, Gym, Badminton, Mountain Bike, Volleyball......). As well their Restaurants are very attracvtive (Latinon Resto and Bar, Italien, Bamboo Bar, Coffe shop and Seafood Grill). We learned from other guest that there is appraently a new managemet team on board and beacuse of that the qualtiy of standard and the overall appearance of the hotel has improved a lot, thsi does also reflect in the new web page they launched at sanurbeachhotelbali (see the news coloum) . We defenitely will return to the place and we only can recommend it."

good but uninspiring
"We were there in Oct 2004. The room was a good quality, good sized, comfortable but standard hotel chain type room. The grounds are pleasant. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel but it is somehow uninspiring and unexciting, perhaps a little dated. I would not call it romantic. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Sanur is very crime free and I must have been the unluckiest tourist to get my bag stolen by a man on a motorcycle. The staff couldn't have been more concerned and immediately organised a change of room (my roomkey was in the bag and even though I should have deposited it before leaving they never said a word) and they organised a car to take me to the police station.
The breakfasts are excellent, the food in the restaurants and on the entertainment evenings is ok but not great, and the seafood restaurant was a bit overpriced. (Cemara Beach Restaurant along the beach is very good.) Cocktails are good, the hotel's beach bar tends not to advertise their happy hour too well so make sure you ask. Our total bill at the end for food and drinks was less than we expected.
It's right on the beach but the water at Sanur is not very inviting. The pool was fine but there is little natural shade around the pool and there are not enough umbrellas to go round, with the result that some selfish people put down their towels at dawn, and then sometimes only spend one hour there, most frustrating. However there are loungers and shade on the beach and we never had any touble finding a spot there."
