10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"Villa Jacaranda is stunning! The attention to detail is superb and the breakfast amazing. Every morning we had poached eggs on toast on our roof terrace and it never failed to impress! I would say that it was the best breakfast I have ever ever had! You have to have the fresh pinapple juice.
I loved the fact that every day we were given clean sheets, towels and fresh flowers in our room. The extra little touches made Villa Jacaranda one of the best places I have stayed, probably in the whole of the World.
Villa Jacaranda is expensive in terms of other accomodation in Varkala but every penny extra is totally worth it. We stayed in Room 4, at the very top of the villa and I would highly recommend spending the extra money as the roof terrace is a dream. We could watch the sun set every evening as we relaxed reading our books on our deck chairs :-) My idea of heaven!
The staff were super friendly and AJ (the owner) couldn't have done more for us. Please stay at Villa Jacaranda. You will not be disappointed!"

"Can't really add much to the previous glowing reviews of this place. We loved it and were very impressed by the attention to detail, friendly service and the relaxed feel of the place. We had a room on the first floor with lovely sea views from our private balcony.
The owner, Ajay, is extremely friendly and helpful but without crowding one's privacy. He built this place from scratch a few years ago and his flair for design shows throughout - the villa is beautiful without being overly fussy or "frilly".
A little more expensive than many of its competitors in Varkala but I'd say it was worth every penny - I really can't fault it and I'm quite a fussy customer!"

Skip Goa, come to Varkala
"Villa Jacaranda is a perfect beach destination in India. While Goa's tainted with beachside touts and neverending trinket alleys, Varkala has the best Indian beaches have to offer: peaceful vistas, good seafood, and delicious late morning breakfasts at the Villa Jacaranda. Don't miss it!"

"A wonderful place, especially for the start or end of the trip. A little out of the way of the main tourist drag hence the peaceful and relaxing ambience. The whole place is sytlishly and thoughtfully decorated with unusual but effective finishing touches. We were luck enough to stay in the room at the top of the house with a vast balcony and beautiful views."

"We started out journey to Kerala at the wonderful Villa Jacaranda. If you are looking for a quiet haven - this is the place. We were really well looked after by the team at Villa Jacaranda and hope to return there on our next trip. Away from the crowded tourist area, Villa Jacaranda is 3 minutes walk to the beach. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts. Surrounded by a gorgeous garden, full of birds. Can't ask for more."

A wonderful retreat
"We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our 2 month travels around India and it was just what we needed; a spotless, spacious and beautifully designed and furnished ensuite room with a private balcony. Run by very friendly and helpful people we found it to be a real haven. It's in a peaceful location, but only a short walk to the beach or town centre. Delicious breakfasts (pre-ordered the night before) are served to your balcony and there are plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance. For those on a tight budget it might seem a little expensive in Indian terms, but for the quality of the accommodation and service we thought it was a bargain and wouldn't hesitate to go back if we ever get the chance."

lovely stayat villa jacaranda
"We had a lovely start to our trip to India here, the hotel was beautiful and the rooms were cool, clean beautifully furnished. Ajay was very helpful and accommadating as were all the staff. It would have been nice to have a sea view but the gardens were really pretty so it was ok, but I'm sure you could ask for it if you wanted. The breakfast was lovely, served at your requested time on your private terrace which is pretty nice to wake up to."

Chill out at Christmas
"Have a thoroughly laid back Christmas in the villa Jacaranda in Varkala, Kerala.
No fuss, no crowds.
Leisurely breakfast on your own terrace is just what you need having run off from the rat race over the festivities.
The rooms are lovely and are good value for money compared with many of the other places we stayed in Kerala"

A wonderful place
"Me and my wife stayed at Villa Jacaranda 3 nights during our honeymoon in august, and it was really a nice stay. This was the first stop on our trip in kerala and it was a perfect start, a good place to relax and prepare for the rest of the trip. If we would have known how nice it was on beforehand, we would have planned a longer stay. The staff is really friendly, the food (we had both breakfast and dinner) is fantastic and the rooms are great. It's not a luxury resort with pool and fitness center, it's a place with a few rooms where the ambience is special and just great! I hope I can go back to Villa Jacaranda sometime."

A little Haven
"We stayed in Villa Jacaranda as part of our honeymoon. The accommodation was delightful and little touches really made a difference. We didn't have great weather but we would come back to the Villa in the afternoon and would get a nice pot of the best tea sent to our room which was so lovely!
The breakfasts were gorgeous, all served on your verandah!
The only downside was lack of air-conditioning in the room. We arrived when the weather was really humid (hence the rain) so air-conditioning would have been lovely!
We were a little out of season so finding rickshaws to take us back after an evening out were a little difficult. One of the restaurant owners walked us back one evening as we were stranded!"
