Varkala SeaShore Beach Resort

Perfect location and amazing value
"The hotel is on the quieter south cliff away from the busy strip of North Cliff, though this is only 50 rupees away by TukTuk.
Very helpful and friendly service and we had both a standard room and a cottage room. The cottage rooms are beautiful and simple and the standard rooms are functional, simple but a little small.
The best part of this hotel is its lovely garden with hammocks tied around the place and then a set of steps to an almost private part of the neach away from the crowds.
Breakfast is simple but well done and large glasses of pineapple juice! Hotel has internet. And also does laundry in 24 hours.
Great price and great location... love it!"

Just like Heaven
"Shine and all the lovely people at Sea Shore made my stay feel like heaven. The property is just amazing. Peaceful, quiet, well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are clean and quiet. The first days I booked one of the bamboo huts in the annex compound and then shifted to one of the standard A/C rooms on the main compound. There are about 10 hammocks in the garden, there is a more or less private access to the less crowded beach and free internet at the reception. And....nice people and great breakfast. What can I say? It was just perfect and made me stay there 9 nights instead of an initial 2!"

This is the best place to stay at Varkala beach - idyllic
"I travelled with my family, including sister and another couple with two teenage children - we were ten people in all and Shine, the manger accomodated all of us in perfect clean and cool rooms in his beautiful quiet garden hotel inthe best part of Varkala beach. We have all traveled widely and agree that this is the best beach experience we have had.
Shine and his team made us a memorable delicious breakfast each morning and we all felt pampered and relaxed after six days. The beach is a few steps down a private staricase and the water warm as bathwater and clan and we played in the waves and walked along the beautuful soft sand. The beach in front of the hotel is the best part of the Varkala stretch. There are wonderful restarants a short tuk tuk ride away or a short walk to the nearby beach, but Seashore is peaceful and quiet and away from the gentle hubbub of the rest of Varkala.
I would return every year if I could, with or without children and teenageers, and it would be a perfet honeymoon spot. Simply wonderful."

Small, friendly, great location
"The Sea Shore Resort is a small & quiet resort with only eight rooms and a well maintained garden. We stayed in one of the two garden cottages which was super pleasant - very clean, spacious, comfy bed. The service is very helpful - especially Shine! -, the breakfast is good, there are hammocks in the garden and the location is extremely nice on the cliff. Restaurants and shopping are only a 10 minute walk away. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that after going down the steps to the beach you have to climb a couple of meters over rocks to get to the water. Maybe this could be improved."

Beautiful and peaceful
"We stayed in the garden apartment on the first floor, which has a great view of the sea through large windows. The room was very spacious and so was the bathroom. Everything was very clean and seemed to be quite new. The best thing is that it is absolutely quiet: the sea is the loudest thing you will hear, although the restaurants of Varkala beach are only a 10 minute walk away."

small resort with great value, friendly service and beautiful views
"we planned to stay here for 3 days and eventually stayed 6 nights. Beautiful location on the South Cliff, all clean rooms with privat terras and seaview (we saw dolphins during breakfast), great staff (especially Joe who makes a lovely breakfast) and an almost privat beach. No beers though. Our teenagers preffered the main beach on a 3 minutes walk from the resort. A very pleasant surprise in busy and noisy India."

The cottage was a little disappointing
"We were recommended SeaShore by the owner of Villa Jacaranda (just over the road)as unfotunately he was fully booked on the dates we wished to return to Varkala. On his advice, we stayed in the the sea view cottage but unfortunately it just didn't live up to our expectations. Whilst the room was clean and comfortable, the decor is very dated. I would have preferred to spend less money and go for a standard room - or go elsewhere altogether."

"I stayed at Sea Shore Varkala for 3 days in the New Year. It was recommended by the owner of Villa Jacaranda across the road.
The owner and all the staff were extremely friendly and especially helpful as I was travelling on my own as a girl in India.
The property is small , peaceful and beautiful, on the edge of South Cliff with steps going down to the beach. The rooms are simple, very comfortable and very clean, with a little porch outside each room. I especially remember eating breakfast overlooking the sea, under the coconut trees and eating delicious fruit salad and fruit juices. It has a really relaxed vibe, with the guests all watching the sunset
It was a short walk to south beach which is much more relaxed and less touristy than the main strip on north beach"

Sea Shore - a great option in Varkala
"We stayed at the Sea Shore in Feb 08 (after having a mixed up booking at the much more expensive Villa Jacaranda).
Sea Shore is at the southern end of Varkala, meaning there's about a 10 minute walk to get to the thick of the action on the north beach - the benefit is, you get a much more peaceful place to stay, right on the top of the cliffs.
Our room cost 2000rs - it was perfectly clean, had a spotless bathroom and a couple of nice chairs out front.
I'd definitely stay again."
