romantic place to stay
"Little expensive but good to stay. It is located next to Solang Valley, little far from Manali city. It is extremely beautiful if it is snowing. Hotel rooms are not so good compare to price they are charging. Please do not take any side scene it wonât give you what you expect, you have to pay extra to get best things on your way. travel to and from hotel is expensive, for small distance also you have to pay min to min of Rs.400. Room service is good. Food is good to. Overall this place is very romantic."

"We selected Solang Valley Resort for our honeymoon, after reading a lot about it on the web. We were pleasantly surprised with what we saw. Excellent ambiance and a breath taking view from the hotel ! We stayed here for 4 days. The hotel management advised and arranged few trips here, to Rotang Pass, etc. We also enjoyed the mouth watering food here."

Loved the location
"My praises to the location where the hotel is located and the way it is designed with apple gardens and open spaces to spend time. Eventhough Manali is a wonderful place, the location of the hotel away from the rush and noise of the town is amazing. Loved the place so much that spent a lot of time in the hotel, spending less time for sight seeing. Food is good and the programs arranged by the hotel are entertaining. Would like to visit the hotel again in the peak season."

"There was a lot of marketing before the trip from the Delhi office. But the actual trip exceeded all promises and expectations. All hotels provide nice rooms and such like, but in addition to that, Solang Valley has courteous and helpful staff who seem to intuitively understand the requirements of a holiday traveller. Rohtang Pass, Para-gliding, zorbing, even hobby classes within the hotel premises, cultural night, you name it - and so our three night stay turned out to be fun with a lot of activity. And the hotel front-office helped plan it out very well. In short, it was an action-packed, relaxing holiday which I can easily recommend to everybody - with nothing to worry about and everything taken care of. - Jayant"

Switzerland on Earth!!!!!!!!!!!
"The finest resort Manali has, Wowwwwâ¦!! What a location, excellent and helpful staff especially Mr. Ravi and Ms. Anupam an asset to the resort, Mr. Mukesh the transport head extremely helpful and efficient in organizing the trips. We had a fantastic time with children, and was a pleasure to see them kept fully occupied with parties and other entertainment programmes. The candle light dinner was soooooooo romantic which was given us as an addon by the marketing head Anita. Room service requires a little pull. Orders take too long if asked to serve in the room. Overall a wonderful place to stay and worth every penny. Would come again and againâ¦..!!"

"Beautiful location: marred by old & dirty rooms & owner Anita who manages & handles reservations is extremely rude & knows no customer service. Natti dance they advertise done by few of their own staff! dusty & dirty rooms - really outdated Bad bathrooms!! We stayed in presidential suite - with warped wooden floors, dust under sofas, & bathrooms woindows shuttered shut due their ongoing renovations . Charges $$$$ for mediocre amenities. Food was so-so. no live music or disco. Dinner hall reminds you of boarding school lunch hall :("

Nice place, old property
"The location of the Solang Valley Resort is excellent. It is indeed nestled amongst beautiful montains and green valleys. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the food deserves complements. However, the recreational facilities, as mentioned on their web site, are very primitive. The gym is almost non existant, no board games, no in-house adventure activities. The rooms are also very old and not properly maintained. The furniture is full of dust and cockroaches. Since the Solang valley is famous for snow adventure, one can overlook all such problems and stay in the resort especially for the locational advantage"

close to nature
"The resort is situated in the heart of the solang valley.. you will get excellent views of the nature. The best time to visidt is February as you will definately get snowfall. The resort alo provides adventure activities like Zorbing, mountine biking, skeeing etc.. all included in room cost. The food is super and the rooms are good. They also make you enjoy with the folk dance and music of Manali."

Worth every penny spent.....
"Me and my wife decided to go for our honeymoon to manali. After 3 months of searching the web like a hawk i realised two things, the web has some "made up" ratings and reviews. Secondly there are two kinds of hotels in manali, one which is cheap and not worth staying in if you are on a honeymoon and second which is good but very expensive. In short i knew if i had to enjoy luxury at manali it would come for a price. I zeroed down to Ambassador resort and Solang Valley resort. What i personally wanted was excellent service, excellent food and excellenty location/view and didnt want to compromise on that. And Solnag valley resort scored more on the last factor more than ambassador. We booked the maharaja suite for around 34k for 5 nights 6 days with breakfast and dinner...expensive. But what followed in the coming days did justice to the kind of money we spent. We had spent 3 nights in Eastbourne Resort (shimla) in the expensive superior deluxe room and our expectations vis a vis the room and food had risen. Lets start with the rooms....The rooms are spacious, neat and clear, bathrooms well maintained. It was not a luxury freaks dream come true but still good. There is no 24 hrs hot water in the hotel (something which was disappointing) but from what i gathered is that hardly any hotels have 24 hrs hot water facility. We were upgraded to the presidential suite for the 4th and 5th night. It was AWESOME. It has a spacious living room and bedroom, huge balcony and a HUGE bathroom with a jacuzzi.....now thats what i call luxury....(check out the pics). So as far as rooms are concerned i will give it a 4.5 out of 5 (-0.5 because of no 24hrs hot water for a ITC welcomheritage chain of resorts). Food : Me and my wife both are big time foodies. The food was excellent, though the choice was limited in the buffet system. Though everyday we had a different spread. Same with breakfast. Dont forget to try the mushroom on toast. It left us craving for more. Though the choice of desserts on the menu is limited they are all very good. However the food is very expensive if you are ordering from the menu.....food gets a 4.8 out of 5, though i am sure my wife would give it a complete 5. Service : This is where i was the most impressed. The review before me is in complete contrast of the view and exprience i had. May be he was unlucky because in all the reviews i had read about solang special mention was made about the service and the courteous staff over there. And this was one of the things which prompted me to go for this resort coz if you are not comfortable with the service the whole fun will be damaged. Right from the reception (Mr ravi - always smiling and warm) to the laundry guys, to the waiters, everone is so well mannered and warm...they make you feel at home. Housekeeping is quick to respond and laundry is not too expensive either. I would give it a 5 out of 5 here. Location : Astounding.......snowcapped mountains right in front of you and the serene sound of the river beas flowing makes you want to spend the whole day in your balcony but its too cold :).....awesome location......i think the best location and view any hotel has. (check the pics to believe it) Others : they arranged for cultural programmes and stuff every night, massage etc etc. But what the heck i went there to enjoy luxury, food and the snow and i was not disappointed at all. Me and my wife have no doubts about where we will be staying when we go to manali again......."

Excellent Location, Loved the Hills
"The property is located at an excellent location with good scenic views of the snow capped mountains. We stayed at the resort from Dec 28, 2008 to Jan 02, 2009 and enjoyed our stay. Overall the experience was good but still the resort need some polishing and improvements in terms of hospitality and to take the resort to premium level. Location: Excellent. The resort is located 10 KM from Manali on the way to Solang Valley Nallah (where most of the adventure sports like para gliding takes place). Theplace is good with not many resorts in the area and is calm and quiet. Rooms: Good. The room were good with good views of snow capped peaks. Well maintained rooms. Food: Average. I will rate the food as average. The spread is limited both at breakfast as well as dinner. At breakfast, you will find the restaurant crowded and will find the dishes empty time and again. This spoils the feeling of having a good and relaxing breakfast. Service: Average. This is something which need improvement at all places (whether its room service, or service at restaurant or the house keeping). Room service is slow. Housekeeping has to be reminded for small things like on one day hand towel was missing, on other shower foot towel was not there etc. Small things that need improvement. Entertainment: Average. The resort organised theme parties and some entertainment stuff in teh evening. But if I compare the same with the equivalent that I have attended in other resorts, I will rate this as average. Overall still giving the rating as Above Average as location is good and with small improvements, I feel the resort can up the satisfaction level of the guests."
