"In a place like Manali where you find enormous number of hotels, it is unusual to find a good hotel like Silmog Garden in terms of hospitality, value for money, location of hotel, ambiance, quality of food and service. And most importantly the personal care and guest treatment was amazing which is to be appreciated. Kitchen was neat, clean, hygienic and well maintained. The hotel is easily accessible from the main market (the Mall road), so shopping is convenient. They have separate Dining hall for veg and non-veg food lovers. Hotel Manager Mr. Amit is more like a friend to me than an owner of a hotel. He is the best host I ever met in any of the hotels so far. The hotel staffs had been very polite and kind in their services. Mr Amit helped us a lot while roaming around Manali which is to be appreciated. It was indeed an unforgettable and pleasant stay at Silmog Garden for us. It’s just like a home away from home. This property in Manali is very safe and wonderful for families. The Hotel provides pick up and drop facility, arranges sightseeing in and around Manali. Mr Jaipal the co- owner of the hotel himself dropped us at the bus stand which is a unique experience for us. I will give 9/10 and Mr Amit would understand that still there is a scope for improvement which would be an ongoing process. Keep up the good work and I would stay in Silmog Garden whenever I come to Manali."

"The hotel has everything what a tourist looks for a 2 to 4 nights stay. The first thing the hotel is located near the famous Manali Mall Road and Buddhist Monastery. This helps you shopping in the evenings easily after a day of sight seeing. Second thing, the hotel has ample parking space for your vehicle. We were there in very peak season and we still had found enough space for our SUV (Tavera). This also saves your parking expenses when you want to go to Shopping, Monistry or Van Vihar (A Jungle Park located nearby hotel). Third thing, the hotel has enough and satisfactory accommodation for your driver. This makes your driver happy and in turn makes your trip more enjoyable as you all know dissatisfied driver (Indian) spoils the tour. The Bus Stand is 6-7 minutes of walk from hotel. So this was about location and outskirts of hotel. As mentioned it has the location advantages. It has one location disadvantage. You don't get a very good view of valley or mountains from your room or from any part of the hotel for that matter. But as you are in Manali and you will leave your room in the morning in Manali and will get back to it in the evening. The view just does not matter. It didn't matter at least for us. To counter this hotel management has developed a small carefully crafted garden having a very good photographic value. We liked the small little garden there in the Hotel. However, if you have children the garden is not good enough for your kids to play. So if at all they want to play they can always move to Van Vihar which is merely 3 minutes walk from the Hotel. The hotel has Rooms on Ground Floor, First Floor and Second Floor. You may get yourself confused when you try to enter the hotel as you are not sure from where to enter. It's a funny confusion though as from both the side you enter to the correct place. As soon as you enter the hotel you will feel that you made an absolutely great decision to book this hotel. The person at the Desk will greet you with enough warmth that you will forget the tiredness of your journey. The reception is too good and large enough for you and your family to sit while the check-in procedure goes on. I bet if you have small kids they will start enjoying right in the reception. The Vegetarian restaurant is right in front of reception so you can have some food there before you go to your room. And Yes, The hotel has separate kitchen and restaurant and kitchen for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. If you book this hotel do visit their kitchen. The Kitchen of Silmog garden is a place to see in tourist town like Manali. You will find it more clean and hygienic than your home kitchen if not, it is at least as clean as your home kitchen. I never seen a hotel that allows guests to freely enter the Kitchen (You should remove your shoes though before entering it). They serve almost all type of Indian food and breakfast. The food is very hygienic and tasty though taste varies from tongue to tongue I still feel it is hygienic and tasty enough to serve your stomach. Food is not that costly either, you may pay a bit more than other restaurants in Manali but it is still worth paying that extra bit. The only thing is that you may need to sit at the same table almost everyday. This is how I think they manage tables (According to the room number you are in). However, upon request we were allowed to sit on a different table as we got bored on same table everyday. We were two couples each having a kid of around 5 years. We booked two super deluxe rooms. One of our rooms was then shifted to family super deluxe room as it was available without any additional cost either. The hotel offers 4-5 types of rooms. We didn't see the most basic rooms (Deluxe rooms). But the rooms we stayed in (Super Deluxe) were quite large. Very good furniture, comfortable bed to accommodate 2.5 persons (We slept with our 5 year old), separate sitting area with sofas and table to accommodate around 5 persons, a wardrobe with enough space to put your baggage and hang your clothes, nice dressing table with full length mirror and drawer, A 21" television with remote. The room is 70% carpeted. So most area of room is with carpet and carpet looked very new and clean. Bed sheets and blankets were clean and hygienic. Only one problem with TV...you can see about 50 channels...the picture reception is not crystal clear. It didn't bother us though as our son had to watch only cartoon and it does not matter to him as long as cartoon comes on TV. Though we went in summer we felt the room was warm. Not sure how will the room feel in winter. You can always ask for a room heater if you find it cold. They charge Rs. 200/- for the heater per night. But unlike other hotels they offer the heater with blowing air and not the reflection heaters which are almost useless. We however did not require heater as it was a pleasant atmosphere in May. The other thing that you may not like that is they only serve beverages in rooms they don't serve the food in rooms (though they have Menu in room). But I think it is fair enough otherwise the room quality can not be maintained. They always cook fresh food so you need to order the food 20-30 minutes prior to moving to restaurant otherwise you have to wait there. They have room telephone but no instructions of dialing anywhere. In fact, wrong instructions...they mentioned 0 to dial to the reception but it was in fact 9. No instructions on what to dial to talk to another room or where to give meal order (number). You have to ask this to reception. Not a big deal but the hotel can put a paper with instructions in the room. The room locks were tricky and you must practice to lock your room or you may leave it open. But it is safe to leave it open as well. The hotel also insists that you drop your room key at reception as they clean room everyday unless you are adamant on not cleaning your room. If you are in need of some privacy the hotel is ideal. There are no disturbances and you can enjoy your stay. Good for newly wedded couples. Now coming to bathroom, first thing is towel. All the towels were clean and hygienic but I felt the towels were a bit smaller than normal in Super Deluxe room and they were light green in color and square in shape, odd. The family super deluxe room towels were white and large enough. We had to make a request for a soap and shampoo. Soap and shampoo does not come in your room by default but the staff is very prompt to make it available to you as soon as you request (of course for free). Bathrooms are big, clean and had a bath tub with telephone shower in working condition. A large capacity geyser was installed and was flowing good deal of hot water to have a bath for three without waiting for water to get hot enough to take bath. There were two issues with bathrooms. The tissue papers were missing and mounted showers are either not working or not installed at all. But we enjoyed having two baths in hot water tub with telephone showers. Wash basin had hand wash shower and water mixture as well so you can access hot water in wash basin as well. We also visited the top of the hotel (terrace). There is a very good view from terrace but some work is going on in the terrace, may be they are developing terrace garden there. So the subsequent guests can enjoy the terrace garden as well. Btw, there is no BAR to drink in the hotel. But the staff can get you packed drinks like beer etc. The hotel does not have gym, games, spa, swimming pool, etc. The hotel staff is very friendly and always ready to help. They also help you organize your sight seeing tours and they can hire a taxi for you as well. If you have your own vehicle they will help you to organize and plan your small little tours. It looks like I wrote an essay on "Hotel Silmog Garden", Manali. But I tried to accommodate as much information as possible if you are looking to book this hotel. We loved the hotel and we really enjoyed the hospitality here."

"Staying at Silmog Garden was a good experience, yet there were a few problems which i would like to discuss. The hotel is just 2-3 minutes away from the bus stop, therefore no communication problem arises. But you will see the owner only when you enter the hotel, that also for the peak season only. Rest of the time, the workers there are The Boss! Mr. Lovely Thakur, was the only person who attended us from the very first day till the last day. These people are quite informal, they do not check your ID cards during check-in,which seemed a bit odd to us. The rooms are specious, well ventilated. Our super deluxe room had two glass walls with curtains, sometimes we could sense a lack of privacy there. Moreover, there is no separate bolt on the doors, but it can be locked properly from inside.Bathrooms were well maintained, and there was a separate sitting area which we liked very much. The view is not very good from the balcony,as other hotels are blocking most of them, but you can see a part of Rohtang Pass from the corridor, which was superb! The kitchens are excellent, and so was the food.I would advise other visitors to taste the Veg Biryani and veg items there which were just excellent. We experienced the warmth of Uncle ji and Aunty ji many times during our stay. The main problem there is the Credit card machine, that never works properly! We had to roam here and there for the final payment, finally had to settle it with cash.So carry enough cash for all the payments, don't depend on your credit cards. The MAP plan is good, but it is a bit irritating when the waiter keeps on asking you during your meals, "you don't want it (food items)anymore, right?" They arranged for vehicles for sight seeings, and served good food on time. But we were not dropped to the bus stop during our departure,as nobody was available at that time. They did not collect any additional charges outside our MAP plan, which is quite impressing. Overall experience is good, but we expect the presence of the owner a little bit more. A good place to stay, and pocket friendly also. Thank you Uncle Ji (Mr. Hari Singh Thakur), and Mr. Lovely Singh Ji."

The best hotel in Manali

"Very Very Rich and wonderful experience. It is realy a home away from Home. We never miss our home. Rooms are very large and clean. Kids has enjoyed specifically family Room no. 8. They have made small stairs in room for Kid’s Beds. So small kids are enjoying even though they are in room. TV provided in family room is of LCD and brand new.

Enthusiasm of uncleji at the age of 70+ is amazing. Jaipalji and Amitji are more like friends and not hotel owners. Separate kitchen for vegetarian and food item is superb mind-blowing food items, very good behavior of staff & management
100% satisfaction. Eventhough I do not prefer Punjabi food (While gujarati food easily available in Manali) I took two times Punjabi food in the hotel itself. Still I do not forget the taste of Malai Kofta and Kadai paneer. Wowwwwwwww….. Pl note that they do not serve the food in the room so please do not raise any query afterwards since they are very strict on their policies. They are right also else rooms can not be clean as maintained right now. Pl also note that they need atleast ½ hour for preparation since they are making fresh food always. Non vegetarian kitchen worth to see. Beautiful Mountain views from terrace. Views from Room is not so good which other 4 star hotel may provide however normally we are staying in room in morning only after which we are going for site visits so personally I do not see any issue pertaining to location. Moreover, ladies prefer location nearby to shopping area. Eventhough hotel is very near to Mall road you will not find any disturbance/noise around the hotel.

The care and guest treatment was amazing which is to be appreciated. The hospitality and the facilities provided by this hotel has been very impressive comparatively. The hotel staffs had been very polite and kind in their services. Especially Mr. Amit /Jaipal truly has a helping hand always for his guests. He is the best host I ever met in business hotels. The Hotel provides pick up and drop facility, arranges sightseeing in and around Manali. ( I called them 6 AM in the morning for pick up and hotel owner himself came for pick up and drop also (Even though there was heavy rain as well as Mr. Amit has not followed traffic rules so that we can catch our bus).

We took lot of good snaps to register our memories of our stay at Hotel Silmog Garden.
To conclude Silmog garden has all the facilities that one would look for to make the trip and stay a worthwhile, wonderful and comfortable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Manali just because of hotel Silmog. It is a recommended hotel for families and couples to halt in Manali. Not for big groups. They do not prefer also. Pl also mention number of Kids which are going to share the room along with you.

Amitji/Jaipailji, Just keep it up and maintain the same level of quality in future also. I wish all the very best to your hotel and staff.

Thanks for your making our holidays wonderful"
