Great place to stay
"Just back from staying at Mobor Beach Resort for the fourth time and already booking for next year. Staff are very polite and always willing to help in any way they can. I had a fantastic air-conditioned room with kettle, toaster, fridge, tv etc. My room was cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels and bed linen. The restaurant has a good and varied menu, and you're always guarenteed a warm welcome where you'll be met by Vinnie. You can even get your sunday roast and fish, chips and mushy peas! There is also a great bar downstairs in the hotel called Port O Call, run by Tim and Sue, which is definitely worth a visit or four. The Port O Call has a pool table, darts, shows live football matches, offers great pub grub, and you always receive a warm welcome. The hotel has a great location and is within easy walking distance of all local shops, resturants, etc. The most beautiful beach is only a short walk away. Once you're at the beach there's a great beach shack called GG's, which is an great place to sit and relax. You'll get friendly service and good food from a varied menu, and a proper toilet! Beach parties are also worth a visit. I've booked through a tour operator and then decided to book independently. Book through the website and you're guarenteed a speedy response. I've read other reviews and can only take the hotel as I find it, which is somewhere I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely relaxing holiday. I can understand why everyone enjoys going back time after time - I'm counting down until my next visit."

"After satying at the morbor beach resort 3 times i have always found that the staff are really friendly and helpful. Also the rooms are always neat & clean with a spotless bathroon but your bound to find a beetle or fly in a hot country! The pool and facility's were cleaned daily and the pool especially was spotless! There was lots of things to do and is very close to the beach. I found that the hotel was well cared for and very nice and would recomened staying here!"

Great place to stay
"I would without reserve recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the apartment was always cleaned daily, the restaurant had an excellent menu and was run very efficiently by "Vinnie", the beach hut was very well run and gave great service, the "Port o call" was a great way to relax after an evening in the village and last but not least it was down to "Danny Kaye" and "Linda (honeybee) Burton who went out of their way to do everything possible to ensure my wife and I had a good holiday. Thank you guys and as "Arnie" said "we will be back""

A great place to stay!!!
"I'm writing this review from the resort internet cafe - while I am still here enjoying the last few days of my stay in glorious South Goa! I've looked at the other reviews and can only speak as I find. Brilliant central location, fantastic facilities on site and the staff really couldn't be more efficient and friendly. Our double room air-conditioned suite has everything we could possibly want with cable TV, kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, kettle and even a toaster! We've used charter companies in the past, but decided to book direct via the web site this time. It's certainly paid off!! There's a great guy called Vinny running the resort restaurant. (He does a mouthwatering 'Full Monty' breakfast that's real value for money!) And, even if what you want isn't on the menu, he will get it for you. I've spoken to other guests who come back to Mobor Beach Resort year after year, and can understand why they are very happy to return again and again. The direct access to the beach is brill - with GG's Beach shack waiting to welcome you with a great choice of food and drink. There's even a 'pub' on site called Port o Call run by Tim and Sue - originally from the UK - and there's non-stop sports coverage, free pool and darts and a great range of 'pub grub' when you want something familar. Cavelossim is perfect and we're within easy walking distance of the picture postcard beach, restaurants and shops. I can't wait to come back here again and I've made sure I'm booked in to Mobor Beach Resort for the next 5 years! It will be like coming home to see good friends. "

don't go late in season
"The hotel is how i thought it would be for a 1*. Very basic. What was very bad was that most things were closing down so not much around. Hotel was not serving food apart from the brechfact! The shack was also closed. The rooms are very dark with not much too them at all. The pool was ok uut the surround was dirty and very off putting. the pub was a let down, nothing worth going there for. As i am a dog lover the best part was the dogs in the hotel. would be ok for a cheap get away in season but NEVER GO at the beginning or end of season weather great but that is it! "

Avoid like plague
"This hotel is well placed in Cavelossim but that is the only good point I can offer I am afraid. The rooms are very basic and not clean enough and the breakfast is also basic continental and extra items are more expensive than other retaurants in the village. The pool is freezing even at the hottest part of the day and the concrete area around the pool is dismal, no plants or greenery. Now all this is just about bearable as you can just use your room as a base and not spend too mich time at the hotel, however the main bugbear is the other guests. They are mainly long term stays or ex pats and do they let you know about it. They think they own the place and are generally heavy drinking middle aged males with big beer guts courtesy of the only 'english' pub around which is in the basement floor under the pool. The people who own the pub are nice enough but the atmosphere is dreary, ok if you like darts and football but you can stay home for that. Felt uncomfortable around the regulars ,they were very cliquey, ditto the beach shack which is run by Brits again. Tony Gaffino who owns the Mobor is the most unhelpfuland evasive person I have ever met, he has no care or consideration for his guests he just wants your money , would not set foot in this place again and I go to goa every year."

"What an awful unfriendly hotel. The management have a real chip on there shoulder (they are British) and are very unhelpful. The staff are good but clearly frightene of the management Our room wasnt ready when we arrived and when we got into it it wasnt cleaned properly. After two days I complained to the manageress and she told me if I did not lijke the hotel I should go elsewhere, se we did This is really a one star B and B and has masses of British Tourists who like the English Pub and are often unruly and very noisy. If you are looking to enjoy the Goan culture this is the last place to stay. Its crude and full of timeshare apartments and a long way from the beach"

"What an awful hotel. The room was dirty and the receptionist very unhelpful The breakfast was very poor and often items such as milk had run out and when we requested more milk the waitress just shrugged and worked off I spoke with the manageress (English) bnut she was very dismissive and said if we didnt like the hotel we should find elsewhere. What a rude person she was Geberally it was an a very disappointing experience when you consider we paid over £40 per night We moved out after 2 nights and moved to another Hotel which was excellant"

"Hotel was basic but this was expected due to the cheap price and location. My room was ok not the cleanist of places if being honest. The other room for our party was dark, dingy, dirty with plenty of flies. The waitors were pleasant..but the resident dogs made some members of the party very nervous. The dogs had access to any part of the hotel, including the restaurant where you eat breakfast. The breakfast included includes the usual toast with orange and/or tea. The portions fo orange are about 3 times our sizes of shot glasses though...and payment is required. The pool is lovely and clean though! The private road to the beach is perfect to avoid hassle from the locals. There is a great English type pub called Port O'Call with snooker, sky, table football which is a nice change! "

"A very Good basic Hotel with a clean and very friendly staff. Beach is just a short walk away .Private road leads to the beach shacks. Breakfast is served with in a few minuites of ordering and is piping hot. Slightly older longer stay guests who stay for a long time .This speaks for itself. Some tours are available These are also worth going to .They are pretty cheap. Food in evenings is reasonably priced and a large variety is avialable within a short walk. Shops are across the road literally. A great river view restraunt is 10 mins walk away."

Mobor beach resort was better than we ex...
"Mobor beach resort was better than we expected being only a 2 star resort. The room we stayed in was clean and of ample size for 2 people who just needed a base. It is very basic but that is all we wanted. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked perfectly. You handed your key in at reception in the morning and when you returned the room had been cleaned, towels replaced and bed changed. Also there is a great laundry service available if needed. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast is very basic , toast, jam, fruit juice and tea or coffee but if you fancied a cooked breakfast staff was only too willing to provide at a very small cost. What makes this resort so special is the regulars who go there, it was our honeymoon and we were quite abit younger than most there as it does seem to be popular for a slightly older generation ,and because they had been to Goa many times alot of good advice was given to us and because of that we got to see the best places and go on the best trips. It is an ideal place for a honeymoon for people like ourselves who dont like things too commercial. Cavelossim is a lovely place with market stalls lining the road towards the many great restaurants. We tried most of the restaurants and they were all great. Cavelossim is also not to great a distance away to travel further afield , the white taxis are always available and very cheap. Mobor beach resort has its own private road to the beach which is literally 5 mins walk away, yes they are building at the moment but who cares what that looks like because everything is so beautiful when you get to the beach it really does not spoil things. The beach shack GG's is really good if you buy a drink when you arrive you are given sunbeds and brolly free all day! The staff are very friendly and the food again is great, they do a fantastic beach party on wednesday nights with great food ,fireworks and free transport to and from the hotel. I must also mention the pub in the hotel called Port o call, not only are the people that run it really great as they make you feel so welcome, but also the toasties are fantastic! We love football and even though we went away to get away from it all we couldn't give that up! The beach is not over-crowded infact we couldn't even hear the nearest people talking, the sea is warm, cavelossim is as busy and lively as you want it or as quiet and romantic as you want it, thats what makes it so special. We had a perfect honeymoon and are already saving to return to Mobor beach resort."
