"The Bougainvillea reviews were so good that I was afraid to be disappointed. I was not! It was exactly as described - a lovely place, picturesque and well kept by people who find pleasure in what they are doing. You feel safe and cared for. Lorenco is always ready to solve any problem for you even those far beyond the duties of hotel manager. Try it - you won't regret."

"We chose this place based on tripadvsior reviews and now I find myself back here adding my two cents worth. Everyone at the guesthouse was so warm, friendly and went out of their way to make our stay perfect (we washed some clothes by hand and laid it over chairs to dry. We came back to our room to find them on a clothing rack and the fan turned on to help dry it). It was definitely value for money compared to other places in India. Our room had a decent sized lounge and a small balcony in addition to the bedroom and bathroom, the decor felt homely and famliar. We fell in love with this charming place and can't say enough for it. Candolim in general is on the quiet side but it is about a 5min drive to Baga and very easy to get to and from at all hours of the day/night."

"Nothing was too much trouble for the owners of this guest house, we arrived late as the train had been delayed, they were friendly and courteous and greeted us warmly and showed us to our room, which was amazing. We were very happy with the room and also the breakfast was relaxing and delicious, we did not need to eat for the rest of the day.I would not hesitate to recommend this guest house, much nicer than staying in a large hotel."

"I stayed at Bougainvilla with my frind for 3 nights, it is very very clean and beautiful. from the first moment we were amazed by the place. big suites, very tidy, and smell of liliums all over the place! It has a restaurant, which we had 2 breakfasts and some time tea, it was really good. The staff was very friendly and supportive, much more than a regular hotel staff, the location was good, close to the beach and some street markets. we already are planning to get back there very soon!"

"We had just come to the end of a 3 week holiday in India. We decided to stay in Candolim for the last few days and found this place via trip advisor. We had the "penthouse", which was huge and with a great big balcony/roof garden. We paid 2500 INR, which given some of the places we had stayed in, considered this to be really good value. The rooms were imaculate and staff were always around. Its really quiet, which we loved, but its also less than a 5 min walk into Sinquerim, although about a 25 min walk to the heart of Candolim....but its very easy to do. Breakfast was not included but they did provided room servive at a reasonable price. They had really thought about the little touches...scented candles and a very bright torch for powercuts! Air con was also in our room as standard. We were really impressed. I suspect the smaller rooms were just as good and probably equally as good value."

"I have traveled India from top to bottom and never had a better stay, be it in a five star or any guest house. On a quiet little street near to everything but tucked away from the hustle. The rooms are spacious& tastefully decorated with a homey feel, some are bigger than others but all are lovely. The gardens surrounding the property are so nicely kept and lush. The owners Annie and Lorenzo and their son are truly kind people with a good sense of how to run an upstanding place with fresh flowers in your room every few days, excellent house keeping, bottled water provided daily. I stayed here as a solo traveler for one week and then with my mother for two weeks. We had had a stressful year and suffered a loss of one of our family members and this place provided us with the peace and quiet we needed yet was close enough to nice restaurants and the beaches."

"We stayed 02-17 May 2010, from the moment we arrived until the day we left a most enjoyable stay, very clean, nicely decorated and very comfotable indeed. The family who own and run the villa make you feel welcomed everyday, from the moment you arrive until the day you depart. They have a kitchen with a cook with a small menu for breakfest/snacks etc at a small charge. We had a most enjoyable stay and will definatly be returning again and again. The residents living along the same street are very friendly and stop for a chat as you walk by. Situated by Fort Aguarda/Taj hotel and village short 5 minute walk to the beach, Bon Apitite bar and resturent located right on the beach, tucany gardens italian resturant 10 minute walk. Pharmacy and very small general shop close by for water/milk etc, newtons supermarket for main shopping 2km distance suggest local taxi, also situated along the main drag for more resturants/bar's. Local motor bike/mopeds are available for hire too. We came across Bourgain Villa just by accident on our last vacation back in Dec 09, we recommend this villa vey highly"

The owner was extremely nice and accommodating, the rooms were beautiful, and the price was very reasonable compared to other places we stayed on the coast. Big thumbs up."

"This place is a gem. Located on a quiet street near Sinquerim beach near Candolim. The owner is extremely helpful going out of his way to make your stay perfect. The rooms are huge, more like an apartment. Nice touches like fresh flowers in the rooms, complementery water and Wi-Fi. The prices are really competitive, we stayed at other places in Goa more expensive than this yet no where near as good value. Stay here before everyone else finds out about it and you can't get a room! We stayed for 3 nights and would have stayed a lot longer but we preferred places in Goa like Vagator/Palolem over Sinquerim/Candolim"

"Bougainvillea is a delightful guest house in a quiet spot towards the south of Candolim. The house itself is beautifully designed and the rooms are well decorated and spacious. We were upgraded to the penthouse for no extra charge as it was empty - which we thought was a lovely gesture. Lorenco and his wife are wonderful hosts and made us feel very much at home throughout our stay, even driving to Panaji one day to get us fresh king prawns which they then prepared and cooked for us at very little cost. I would highly recommend hiring the penthouse for the lovely views, private patio and very spacious rooms. I definitely plan to return."

"Bouganvillea was a pleasant surprise after an exausting month trip through India. We did not want to leave the place. It was quiet, cool and very clean. At arrival we were taken to our nice big ACed room. The owner, Laurenco, brought check in papers, coffee, water and flowers straight to the room. Each morning we had breakfasts in the little green garden in the FRESH air. Though they do not have a full scope restaurant, the cook can make a great dinner if asked in advance. The location in India is often defined by its neighborhood. Even a nice place can lose its charm if surrounded by slums and garbage. This hotel is located in a village street where people care about the environment they live in. All shopping, restaurants and the beach are within 5-10 minute walking distance, working free wi fi is an additional benefit."
