Cute hotel, aiming to please.

"This is a cute hotel, with smaller rooms. The staff aims to please, but we faced communication issues. It is only a 5 minute walk to a lovely, less-crowded beach! In addition, there is a great restaurant nearby, the Crazy Mango Tree. I would recommend this hotel for people on a modest budget."

"A delightful boutique hotel with just 10 rooms, converted from an old Portuguese house. The hotel is located bang on the Calangute – Candolim road which makes it very accessible to all the happening places in North Goa. This area is peppered with very good restaurants, all within 3-10 mins walking distance. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and the bathrooms neat and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed for a week in late December 2009 and good a surprisingly good-value-for-money deal for the peak season. The hotel has opened just 6 months ago and one may face minor teething problems. The only vexing issue we faced was the noise from the traffic. On the whole we had satisfying stay and a lovely time."

"First of all let me tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The staff are very nice and available 24/7 for any service. The hotel is situated on main road that gives you easy access for 3-4 beaches hence the location is great. But it is still very quiet during the night. The pool side area is great for relaxing. Please dont miss the excellent in-house food that the available on request. The breakfast is excellent too. Over all it is a good value for money. I'll surely recommend it."

"I went to Goa for a 4 night halt, planned 1 month in advance. While to goa I traveled by train as it reaches in the morning and returned by jetlite. 4 nights for a family is enough, if u r with group I would recommend minimum 5 nights. At Banyan Courtyard it was relaxation from the word go. We were moved into the room which has big bed enough for 3 of us ( Kid). Most important the washrooms were clean. Before moving into Banyan we stayed in Vista Do rio a three star resort which is actually far off from beached, 12 km approx, but the resort itself is good to retire from Mumbai. Coming back to Banyan tree, the location is good, u can hire bikes just opp to Banyan at mere rs 200 per day and roam at your will. They pamper you with unlimited breakfast as it was a part of my stay. Food is again limited in menu, but its good. You could try local cuisine and u have varieties around Banyan tree. I would like to inform my fellow travelers to take on local transport if they could or hire a bike or if a group they could also hire a 4 wheeler of their choice. Sun , Beaches, food and wine that’s all about Goa ., Enjoy."

The Banyan Tree Courtyard Goa - Well worth the visit

"I stayed at the banyan In Feb 2009 with my wife, brother in law and sister in law. The initial concern over the hotel being on the main street through Candolim and the subsequent noise proved unfounded, by 11 pm it was allsilent. During our stay the serviceoffered was first class, any requesy or query was met quickly and efficiently by whichever member of staff we asked.Nothing was too much trouble to anyone , all the staff were helpful at all times. Guided by the Manager the boys serving meals, cleaning rooms etc were all eager to please. The students serving meals seemed to flourish and gain confidence as the holiday preogressed. The meals produced by the the chef/cook were the best we had during our stay on Goa. He is a first class Chef. Overall our stay at the Banyan Tree was excellent. We have been to India a number of times but the quality of the rooms we were allocated must rank as some of the best we have had. Well recommended!"

"We booked a standard room at the Banyantree after seing the room photos on their website, which were very nice and roomy. Our actual room was at the rear of the building and the size of a shoebox, i complained to the manager and asked to move however he said all rooms were full. Later that evening i asked again and we were moved to one of the rooms shown (4 poster bed, sitting area etc). Things to be aware of : this guesthouse is on the main Candolim / Calangute road and as all Indian Drivers rely on using the horn, very noisy. When we stayed they were working on new rooms on the upstairs floor and hammer drills etc were still being used at 1.30am, once again complaining finally sorted this out. The centre of Candolim is approx 20min walk along the main road. There is a nice section of beach nearby. The pool area is a waste of time, unclean and with scruffy surroundings. We paid approx £24 per night for the room and could find far better once we arrived for c£12 per night. We enjoyed the holiday but the accomodation was a challenge ! There is absolutely no omprhension of the comfort of guests or service here,"
