Nice stay with village Guesthouse
"It was a nice stay with Village Guesthouse. I'm quite satisfied with their facilities. But last month i had visited Bangalore and stayed in ITC Windsor through bangalorefivestarhotels.com it is the excellent web portal where you can see many luxurious hotels list. Therefore i booked the hotel online through this site. And really it provided me excellent services as well outstanding facilities. I enjoyed a lot here. Thanks to this web site which given me unforgettable moments. "

A hidden Gem!
"Myself and my husband have stayed in Palolem many times over the past year - guest houses, beach shacks etc; but in future I will only stay at The Village Guesthouse. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach and good restaurants, this place is a secret that should be kept! The rooms are a good size, with sat TV, complimentary bottled water, and the showers are out of this world! The hosts, Janet and Goran were great fun and very welcoming hosts - Word of warning - the cocktails are quite lethal, yet out of this world - Thanks again Janet and Goran - we'll be back after monsoon!"

Good hotel but....
"We stayed three nights at the Village Guesthouse during the low season. The hotel is located ten minutes walk from the beach and village. The room was very clean and charming (although there were some spiders in the room as the windows are left opened). Breakfast is included in the room price however it is served from 9:00 am to 11:00 am which was a littel bit late for us as we like to start our day at 7:00 am. The hotel is owned by a British couple and along with other guests, they were drinking on the patio every night. We were in bed by ten and could hear them laughing and listening to music until late night. If you are like us and like an early breakfast and early bed time, we do not recommend this hotel. If you like to drink at night and sleep in the morning, we recommend this hotel."

Definitely the best place to stay in Palolem!
"When my partner and I checked into The Village Guesthouse, our plan was to stay a night or two and then find another guesthouse on another beach: we had a week in Goa and no intention of staying put.
Wellâ¦.so much for big plans: The Village is impossible to leave. Seven days later we were still in Palolem, still eating breakfast on Janet and Goranâs veranda, still watching the dogs sunning themselves in the courtyard, still checking on the water buffalo family across the lane.
The Village is perfect for a low-key getaway. Itâs a simple place, but very luxurious and comfortable and friendly and quiet. The rooms are beautifully set up with dark wood furniture, clean white linen and enormous bathrooms. They are also equipped with A/C, a necessary luxury for a spring or summer visit (we were there in April). The beach is a good ten+ minute walk from the guesthouse, but if you are scooter-inclined they can be taken on rent for 150 rupees per day. Goran taught us both to ride and we had a ball riding through the village lanes (mad dogs and crazy traffic aside!) Janet and Goran serve a fabulous breakfast (French press coffee and homemade muesli and some of the best eggs weâve had) but there is no restaurant on the premises (not at all a problem, given the food options in Palolem, Patem, and Agonda â all nearby). They also have a little âbarâ and G poured us some great cocktails on the evenings we didnât sit on the beach watching the stars. They have created the perfect balance of friendly guest-staff interaction and privacy and the atmosphere reflects this quite comfortably.
We had a great week at The Village and will definitely return. If you are looking for a bit of luxury away from the beach shacks and coco huts, this is a fabulous option. Our one complaint was our squeaky bed (a bit of a problem for a romantic holiday), but Goran promised us he would take care of it. Weâll test him on his word on our next visit!"

The Village Guesthouse is fantastic and exceptional value for money
"The Village Guesthouse is fantastic and exceptional value for money - the whole place is spotless and very tastefully decorated. The beds are amazingly comfortable and have lovely fresh, crisp sheets, the bathrooms are enormous with power showers and masses of hot water (solar powered) and the breakfast is a feast! The free wi-fi is an added bonus. We had been travelling in India for about a month before arriving here and it was by far the best place we stayed in all that time. We planned to stay a couple of nights and ended us staying 12 as we knew anywhere else would be a disappointment after staying here.
Janet and Goran, who own and manage the guesthouse, are great hosts and really made us feel at home and helped us to relax. They are a great source of information on the surrounding area and pointed us in the direction of a few places we would never have found without their help. And they make great cocktails!
If you go to Goa, this is the place to stay."

Excellent choice, super nice British owners taking care of all your needs and wishes!
"After a long week of company visits in the hustling and bustling city of Bangalore we extended our stay with week in Goa. We found The Village Guesthouse reviews on Tripadvisor and immediately knew it'd be the right choice! And we weren't disappointed! The new guesthouse is conveniently located 5min walk from the beautiful beach of Canacona and it's truly the most affordable luxury in Goa! With FREE WiFi the rooms are very modern all with A/C, ceiling fan, TV and confortable beds. Furthermore the bathrooms are really huge as other guests had also stated. The water pressure is also very good! It was just awesome enjoying the nights out on the 2nd floor terrace with the lovely British owners Goran and Janet. They we're just awesome hosts making you feel just like at home; if not even better. There's a homepage too which isn't yet found by google, just type village guesthouse goa dot com. A truly excellent location!"

An Outstanding Choice!!
"My wife and I spent a relaxing week in Palolem, Goa in February 2009. Arriving in town with no advance reservations, we spent a few hot, humid, and frustrating hours driving around to all of âLPâsâ mid- and upper-end ârecommendedâ guesthouses. To our immense good fortune, they were all booked, which allowed us to stumble upon the wonderful new Village Guesthouse.
Located on the south end of Palolem one block from the beach, the newly remodeled, white-washed villa contains eight rooms. Each room is spotless, with modern furnishings, crisp sheets, zero mosquitos, huge tile bathrooms, the requisite A/C and ceiling fan and free Wi-Fi (!!). Each floor contains a common balcony seating area where meals, and wines are served, with views of green rice paddies across the way. All of this at a very affordable priceâwhat great value!
The proprietors Janet and Goran McHale were extremely welcoming and helpful. They helped us with our travel logistics, recommended local attractions and restaurants and generally made us feel like locals. Best of all, their breakfasts of French-press coffee, muesli, eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit are addictive and made-to-order. After five nights, neither of us wanted to leaveâand this is coming from a couple who generally find B&Bs a little too intimate and chatty.
You won't go wrong if you stay here!"

A little bit of luxury in South Goa
"What a find - the perfect little guesthouse to stay in after a mammoth fortnight in Goa. Hosts Janet and Goran were lovely, the rooms were beautiful and all our needs, from scooters, to taxis to advice regarding restaurants and parties, were catered to. Each bed had 4 pillows which was the greatest luxury after sleeping on hard-as-a-board beds throughout Goa. For 2000 rupees we had our beautiful room with ensuite, a yummy breakfast each day with real coffee, bottled water and TV. This is nothing like the beach shack communities dominating the scene in Goa but was a well-earned luxury after the craziness of Colva and Vagator. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to end our amazing holiday. I would recommend this to those wanting luxury, wanting to rest, wanting comfort, wanting something Western, wanting things to happen easily or wanting to escape. It was worth every rupee.x"

Really rather nice.
"A stay in the Village Guesthouse has to come highly recommended. Set just a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of Palolem beach, this guesthouse is a little slice of luxury. The owners have managed to create a stylish retreat; a place to relax and refresh in comfort. The bedrooms have been elegantly designed and furnished. The beds are extremely comfortable and lend themselves to a very good nightâs sleep. As much thought has gone into the en-suite shower rooms which are cool and clean and in some cases, as big as the bedrooms themselves. Basically if youâre looking for style and comfort and can afford to splash out a bit you will not be disappointed.
A small word should be left to say about the owners. Janet and Goran are absolutely delightful hosts. Both fun loving and interesting characters, there need never be a dull moment. You can be left to enjoy the peace, quiet and comfort of your own room, or step out and enjoy a fabulous cocktail and chat with your hosts.
Hard to fault!"

This place has to be the most afordable luxurious Guesthouse in Palolem - the bathrooms are HUGE!
"I very rarely find the motivation or time to write feedback or post reviews etc. however this one really deserves a mention and 5 stars from us.
We have been visiting goa for several years now and have found the south beaches to be the best - stunning Palolem and Patnem bays, always plenty of great restaurants, paddy fields, Exhilerating walks, Old forts to visit, and now the Village Guesthouse.
Normally I stay in beach huts which are a great experience for a few nights but we've kinda been there and done that and after a while we crave a place to stay with a bit of luxury and style. (with Wi Fi ) A rareaty in Palolem.
Janet and Goran the owners are a truely wonderful couple and you feel like you are with old friends and nothing is too much. The Lychee Martinis are to die for too!! not to mention the feast of a breakfast - good coffee - fruits, good bread Jams - eggs mushrooms - juice that is included in the price.
I will be staying there next year and the other guests we met while staying there said the same.
