"I have been to this hotel as many as 40 times, maybe more.
This hotel has everything one needs. The new redone rooms are just great. They are comfortable, clean, and luxurious. The amenities at the hotel are also great. They have tennis courts, a badminton court, a nine hole golf course, mini golf, a jogging track, a spa, a childrens playground, an inhouse casino, an inhouse disco, table tennis tables, snooker, 2 large swimming pools, one of which contains a bar. They have yoga sessions, everymorning with a Guru, who is just unbelievable. This guy has cured himself of cancer through yoga and meditation.
The staff are just great here. The people are very warm and friendly. The food is also awesome.
They have great entertainment all year round, especially in season time from november to march where everyday they have different entertainment.
This hotel gives you great value for money.
It is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in goa. The white sand stretch is clean and just amazing. The landscaping of the hotel is stunning.
It is great for romantic travellers, families with children as they have great entertainment for children such as beach football and cricket everyday, and other sporting amenities.
It is great for old travellers to as it is peacful and a great place to get a tan.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a fun, relaxing vacation to remember."

"What can I say?
4h time and the best holiday ever. This year we went with girlfriends and they enjoyed themselves too.
The staff were as wonderful as ever. Some are old friends now who keep in contact. Even the director.
We had the best river trip on the Sal, bird spotting and the Sahakari spice farm has improved with more elephants to enjoy.
The hotel is still being updated and we have planned to return this coming December.
Tony the taxi driver is still the best although Walter has a better car!"

"the hotel was not as good as we was told it was having a lot of work done to it the last week of our stay 24hrs a day. we had booked a superior room with pool view and a walk in shower but did not get any of these, also the hotel did not cater for the british with the evening menu so we could only eat what was on the buffet that night.the people who waited on us though were very good the best one was lowry on the reception bar.its a very poor country lot of poverty and the airport to get home was a joke."

"We just came yesterday from goa n cant stop myself to write here abt my experience.it is woderful wetty rainy monsoon there which i cant forget.Ramada resort is on the good location with a wide space.swimming pool is very big vd a bar in it...so enjoyed thoroughly. the most important thing for me is food which was fantastic. i was not expecting really good north indian veg. food as we are pure veg. but they made it n it was out of the world.
i m not the only person who appriciates it. Everybuddy praise it so much.staff was very very friendly n helpful. very fast service.
sumthings i dont like which is rooms, little musty smell, alcohal is very costly as comapre to others, ver bad disco n dj. but the music played by live singers in restaurent were nice n entertaining."

Great potential but bad service
"We live in India and had family coming to stay so decided to go to Goa. After reading all the reviews the Ramada sounded great. The resort itself is lovely however really needs to better management and staff training. We arrived with 2 small children at the same time as another family. Unfortunately, as they arrived at reception first we had to wait for over 45 minutes to check in. We also watched while they received welcome drinks and cold towels whilst we just sat there being ignored. We then went to our room which was quite spacious but no extra bed had been put in the room. We ate that night at the restaurant on the beach to receive the worst service I have come across anywhere. I work in travel and have stayed at many hotels over the world. We waited for 2 1/2 hours for our meal. Whilst most were actually very nice the seafood sizzler had obviously been sizzling for too long and the prawns were charcoaled. Drink service was also very slow. That was the only meal we ate at the hotel for the rest of the trip.
The room servicing was fantastic and our room was always cleaned. The pool area was beautiful but impossible to get a sunlounger unless you get up at dawn and put your things out. Kids pool is great but no real other activities for kids. There is a playground but it is in the sun allday and too hot to use. Beach is beautiful. We ate at Jolinn's which is just out the front of the resort. I would highly recommend here. After reading reviews we also went to Mikes Place and Bettys which were both equally great. We went into the Saturday night markets and whilst the taxi ride was expensive it was well worth the money for the atmosphere.
Overall, we enjoyed our trip but as it started with bad service it was hard not to get annoyed with anything else that happened."

Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed At - Ramada Caravela Beach Resort
"Just returned from a week in Goa staying at the Ramada Caravela Beach Resort, Varca Beach, Goa (9th April-16thApril). Hotel is not a four star hotel. Having stayed in many four star hotels around the world I would rate this as a mere two star. Whilst the communal area's in the hotel were beautiful i.e. foyer, swimming area, grounds etc the bedrooms in the hotel were disgusting.
Arrival: On arrival we were promptly shown to our rooms. When we walked into the room it clearly hadn't been cleaned since the last guests had vacated. The beds were undone, towels on the bathroom floor etc. Complained immediately and was shown to another room. The corridors were dark and dingy. The rooms were musty smelling, extremely basic and had dirty corners. The bathrooms were worse than disgusting. It looked as if an amaeture had done the tiling, there was mould on the sealant around the bath tub and shower, cracks around the marble sink. Absolutely vile. When booking through First choice I was told I was being booked into a delux room, on arrival i was advised that the room booked was a std room and to upgrade it would cost $50 per night per room. Viewed the delux rooms and the rooms were beautiful. Very comtemporary and modern.Gorgeous bathrooms with walk in showers, glass sinks etc. Completely different from the standard rooms. However because of price supplement decided to spend rest of holiday in the std rooms.
Breakfast - served in part open restaurant facing the swimming area. First impressions 'nice' however on sitting down noticed there was crows flying overhead within the enclosed restaurant. It was so bad that they even had a security guard standing with a pallet gun to frighten them off. Food constantly had flies sitting all over it. Most of the time I spent in the restaurant was waving my arms around trying to scare off the flies. Customer service was appalling - sometimes having to wait 15 mins before waiter came over and another 35 mins waiting for tea to be bought over. Good variety of food however runied by lack of hygiene in the dining area.
Swimming Area: As previous reviews - impossible to get a sunbeds unless you manage to get it before 8am in the morning. On the second day I gave the pool attendent 2 dollars to save me sunbeds each day which he did. Swimming pool is amazingly warm (29c) an absolute pleasure to get and out off. Plently beach towels available - so no need to take your own.
Castaway Restaurant: located near the swimming pool. Food was ok although I ended up with diorreah for three days. Also found a dead fly on my burger (thankfully i picked up the bun to see what was inside of it). NO fresh juices available- which is extremly rare for India.
Entertainment - Very disappointing. Hardly any entertainment and the one they did have was rubbish.
Beach: Amazingly clean. Clean powder sand. Clear water. Water temperature was about 28c. Best beach I've seen.
Customer service at the hotel was appalling. Their was a distinction between how the Asian guests and the non asians guests were treated. With the non asian guests being treated so much better.
Hotel is expensive when comparing it to the rest of Goa (i.e water bottle costs 50 rupees in the hotel and 19 ruppee outside the resort - I went on a bed and breakfast basis. To upgrade to all inclusive it would cost and extra $50 per night per person. Not worth it. Decided to stay bed and breakfast and total food and drinks bill came to £140 at the end of our stay.
Spa: Musty smelling and damp clearly visable of the walls
After hearing so many fantastic things about Goa, the Ramada was a huge disappointment. I had gone for my first year wedding anniversary. Guess I'll be remembering it for all the wrong reasons. On my last day I drafted and 8 page complaint letter about all the things that were wrong. I dont normally complain as all holidays have their good things and bad however the Ramada was so appaling that i felt compelled to write this review."

Great place to Go
"Having read all the reports about the hotel, we knew it sounded nice but on arrival it was apparent the comments about the rooms being musty and needing attention were right.
We arrived at 7 pm and were given a ground floor room which did smell damp and musty!!.I asked if we could change rooms,a very nice lady on reception called Joanne, said that the hotel was full that night but comeback in the morning and she would arrange. In the morning our room was changed and apart from the bathroom being tired and in need of some TLC it was fine. So I think this hotel has a policy of giving guests a lesser room to start with but immediately agree to change if the guest requests that,so make sure if you're not happy ask to change.
The rest of the hotel was lovely, staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times.A lot of people were on their 4th/5th visit which is a commendation in itself.
We took the advice of booking B&B,and would fully recommend this option, eating out is so cheap and there some lovely restaurants all within a short taxi ride.At lunch time we ate on the beach in the Sunset Paradise shack, the food was great and we were well looked after by the staff who we got to know. This shack owner also had restaurant about 200yds from front of hotel called 'Jolins'.They have a full menu including Chinese,India and local Goan food.
At the front of the hotel is the Taxi station, after initially calling a taxi the hotel then let you use the same driver all holiday. He will take you wherever you want and then stay with you for an extra cost of 60p/hour.The total cost for an evening will be between
£8-£10 depending on where you go but always agree the fee before starting the journey.
Good restaurants to go to would be Joecon's,Mike's Place,Betty's place they all have great menus and live music most evenings.
Shopping in Goa is excellent,if you want anything making take a picture with you and the garment will be made to measure for you within 2/3days. The best on we found was Liza's Emporium about 1 mile from hotel. We had some jewelery made there and on returning to England found that the price we paid was half the value in UK.A word of warning you must haggle and pay no more than 55% of their initial asking price.
We didn't do any of the Tour Operators excursions but if you fancy any always use the taxi drivers who will charge about half the operators price.
Excellent holiday for couples not much for teenagers but I can thoroughly recommend both resort and hotel but watch out for musty rooms !!"

We picked this hotel after seeing the lo...
"We picked this hotel after seeing the lovely pictures Ramada has posted on it's website.
However, upon arrival more than half of the facilities were closed and construction was going on all day.
The only bright side was the beach was lovely, unfortunately no beach chairs and restaurant at the beach were close too.
We are not going to stay here again."
