Ambience was good,Food was bad
"We reached in the morning and at first glance the resort appeared good, reception was not good though, asking us to help ourselves with the luggage which we objected to and later a house keeping person was arranged. We got a good swimming pool balcony view from the room. The disappointment was the ceiling paint badly peeled off in living room.the.The fridge was not working ,it was alright as we did not really required it. The shower was old one though the hot water was continous throughout the day unlike other places where it is binded by the timings. The AC was good and in absolutely good condition. The breakfast was good overall, we had dinner once and the it was bad especially the paneer chilly ,it was pathetic . we did not pay for it and they agreed to it. The swimming pool was nicely maintained with good music/request on demand songs. The staff was ok with lack of prompt service . we had to shout for the dinner order once after repeated calls. Overall it was an average experience and at the end of the day we enjoyed our vacation in Goa."

Natural Surroundings Haven
"We had been for a weeks stay at Resort Mello Rosa, Arpora, Bardez, Goa in October. The hotel is beautifully located with great natural surroundings. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel since the restaurant and bar servies were good and to our satisfaction. The swimming pool is absolutely clean and great for swimming. There are also othe facilities like watching movies, pool table, carrom etc. It is difinitely recommended for people who want to get away from the hustle and noise of everday life. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time."

This is the worst hotel i ever stayed in.
"I want to warn all fellow travelers never to stay at this hotel. I booked two double rooms for three nights with an additional bed needed for the fifth occupant. It took about 15 minutes for the receptionist to complete the formalities and to arrange us a room. When we got a room, we were surprised to find out that the hotel had only arranged a matress for the 5th guest but no bed. They exppected him to sleep on the floor. It took about one hour of arguing after which they gave us a bed. even then they kept mumbling something or the other. The rooms were clean but very basic, the shower was broken in one room along with the glass about to fall out of the window. and the glass window was broken in the other. The mattress was bigger than the bigger then the bed, which could have been a bit dangerous since anybody who was sleeping on the edge of the bed could have fallen off since there was no support under the matteress. The restaurant was really bad. They messed up our orders all the time. and the food was;nt any good either. Mellorossa charges top money for its third rate rooms. so i suggest you not to book this hotel."

Food was nice, but shame about the rest of it!
"The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The Hotel was mainly full of other indians, I can see why indians dont seem to have a problem with this hotel as for them this is probably considered a luxury. But for us it was a complete night mare. Our first room was infested with bugs (no joke 100's of them) even when we changed rooms they somehow seemed to get into our suitcases. Our second room was too noisy as there was buliding work going on at the time, our third room was slightly better but we still were woken up by the building work going on from time to time. Never again!"

"we are members of sterling group of resorts & were given booking on exchange basis. believe me, I have never stayed in a hotel worse than mellorosa in whole of my life. paint peling off the walls, stinking bathrooms ,no towels( WE WERE INFORMED THAT TOWELS HAVE NOT REURNED FROM LAUNDRY ), poor welcome at reception, no kitchen accesories, It would be an endless story. I shall not even dare to see this resort in my dreams. VERY VERY VERY BAD."

typical indian hotel
"This is a typical Indian Hotel. On arrival we were taken aback because we were expecting a euorpean type hotel. The staff were shy at first but were really helpful when they got to know us and we had the aditional delight of monkeys playing on the roof every morning. If you use this hotel and you need anything done, room cleaning, special meals etc tell the staff they will be happy to oblidge."

Absolutely Pathetic excuse for a resort!
"What a horrible place! I read the review above but thought, well that's just one person's opinion. Pls don't even consider this place. We didn't even stay one night! We rented a driver & found a real 3 star hotel 10 mins away which was on the beach!(La Calypso, Baga Beach, Panjim Goa) Mella Rosa's staff were jerks & our friend's room smelt horrible. Their mattress smelt like urine no lie! There was mold on our ceiling, the handle for the shower was falling off. I thought maybe I was being a spoilt american, but when we went to the front desk, an Indian couple was complaining about the condition, I agreed we needed to get outts here. Your room key activated the power in the room, which meant when you left the room, your ac shut off. So you would come back to your room after a long day of sight seeing to it being hott & humid! The internet office they had didn't work. All the pics you see of this place online, are mainly of the pool which was sorta decent but deceiveing. The rest of the place was run down. I am posting real pics of the rooms. We asked the front desk if there were better rooms, & they said all of them were the same. Don't even consider this place. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Travelers be warned!!!! Robert. [email protected]"

Hotel description very misleading
"We booked a triple room and on our arrival were given a double bed in a small room beside an adjoining room which contained a kitchen table and chairs. There was no kitchenette! We asked to see another room and once again there was only one bed. We took the room and asked for another bed to be brought in. The paint was flaking off the walls, the wardrobe was broken, sheets were stained, no kitchenette and the toilet was broken. Once again we moved. We finally got a room that was only adequate- at that stage we wanted to just get on with our holiday. Some of the Reception staff were extremely unhelpful while others were friendly enough. There is NO free shuttle service to the beach. After a long fight with the manager he agreed to pay for our taxi to the beach each day. We paid for our own return trip. It is most certainly not a luxurious hotel. It is very basic. The food is good, the pool is nice, pool staff are friendly and we found it very quiet. Our weeks accomodation was very cheap there so we made do. The photos and description are too misleading though."
