Watch out for the Frogs !
"I stayed at The Tamarind in November '03. It is a great little hotel tucked away in a quiet corner of Anjuna (Goa's Hippy Colony). It is owned by an Australian man and his Indian wife who live on the premises with their four friendly dogs! The rooms are small with showers and a fan and are all situated around the pool(all have a patio with table & chairs). Should you decide on a swim then you will share the pool with some small but friendly frogs!!! The hotel also has a T.V room (with pool table),bar, restaurant (great food) and a small but adequate library with a sun terrace. The Tamarind is about 30 min walk from Anjuna which is a small quiet village with a great beach. The hotel has its own taxi rank and the bus from the crossroads in Anjuna will drop you right outside for about 15rp. If you like markets the famous Anjuna market on a Wednesday is good but my advise is to go to the Market in Arpora on a Saturday night (next to the temple) 7:30-2-30 ish. It is fantastic! There is a band, great food and some fabulous bargins to be had. Enjoy !!!"
