Lovely Hotel Highly A1* - Already rebooked
"We came back from our last min holiday to this hotel on 8th March.
Had a lovely holiday, hotel very clean, staff cant do enough for you. The Food here was very good always lots to eat with plenty of choice the desserts where to die for and plenty of them, we had the best waiting staff "Ali" who was so helpful.
However I would say the only downside was the breakfast - need more choice for English breakfast more cereals.
the pool area was very clean with lots of entertainment, we went in march and only had 3 days of sunshine but the animation team tried to make up for the weather by putting on more entertainment.
The hotel rooms were very clean and big, bathrooms a bit dated but still ok, I can say of all the places we have been to we had the best most comfortable bed ever (wish we could have brought it home)
Going Out/Shopping, everyone tells you not to go out but I can assure you we went out to various places on our own to various places and to the Medina, just be firm with the sand tell them no and they leave you alone,
We have already re booked to go back in august and are looking forward to it.
we used the best taxi driver "Makum"who we used daily to take us where we wanted to go who was very helpful, on our last day he took us sightseeing and out for coffee so despite what you are told they are very good people.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone enjoy."

friendly and modern hotel in peaceful location
"Very spacious rooms with good views. good room service beds very clean and comfortable. Reception staff very helpful and pleasant. there was a variety of different foods and the desserts were to die for.
plenty of activities throughout the day thanks to the animation team, they worked very hard and long hours, even in the evenings they entertained us.
they had lots of energy, best animation team so far in my travels.
the only negative was if you wanted a sun bed around the pool you needed to get up around 6am. "

Mixed feelings ....
"We have just returned from a 6 day holiday in Tunisia. The weather given the time of year was fabulous.
Hotel - looks tired but rooms were kept clean , hallways not as you would expect daily. We paid an extra £66 for balcony but don't do thus as EVERY room has a balcony anyway. A bottle of water delivered daily to your room to clean your teeth.
Food - always plenty to eat, pasta station was fresh as you waited, breakfast has fresh donuts , omelettes and eggs plus everything else you would expect to find. Usually always a fish/ turkey and beef dish. If you like brown sauce/ salad cream or BBQ sauce , take your own.
Staff - all really helpful and friendly , the animation team worked their socks off to keep you entertained. The Lord of the dance show was the best. Mimi , Kiko, Alex ,zizu and pepito were fun.
Excursions - the rep tried hard to put us off doing anything alone or not with them because of pick pockets etc, we travelled in a taxi for 7 (£2.80) dinar one way and he picked us up 2 hours later as requested. Got some bargain " fake " designer bags. We also booked with the hotel a trip to the camels , although I wouldn't recommend it. It was close to hotel on disused land the horses pulling the carts were severely under nourished , they kept telling us it was because they had worked all season ! We left after the camel / horse ride and didn't go to see the Tunisian home baking, we had had enough of the flies, they were everywhere !
One of our party had Tunisian tummy so take some Immodium with you and you will be alright.
Also take your own plastic beaker for around the pool as theirs aren't very clean.
Alcohol - they ran out of vodka just one night but it was late and we moved onto something else.
Airport - they tell you you can only spend dinar before passport control but this isn't the case , if you want something to eat before flying then keep some dinar as we paid £10.20 for 2 cans of pop a bag of crisps and a snickers.
Money - you can't get it before you go but make sure you have a few pound coins as the waiters / rep/ porters have a way of changing it.
Spa - we had to use next door as rosa beach's was being renovated. Prices were excellent!"

fabulous hotel, brilliant staff, amazing animation team
"Just got home from our Tunisian holiday and felt I had to write this review.
The whole experience of the Rosa Beach was fantastic. A last minute deal for a relaxing week in the sun...did we relax ...no, instead we joined in the many activites run by the amazing animation team, never a dull moment. a full days entertainment, followed by evening shows...many congratulations to the whole team for all their hard work. Just wanted to let you know how much you were appreciated.
A wonderful hotel, lovely rooms which were modern and clean. Fabulous food, which was beautifully presented, staff that saw to your every need with a smile, waiters, reception staff, cleaning staff and special mention for the dining room staff who were second to none.
The Beach does have a problem with seaweed that some guests didnt like, but this is nature, and in fairness we saw cleaning up operations on the beach many times during our stay, so this is a problem that is being dealt with and in no way affected our opinion of the Hotel.
We will be returning to the Rosa Beach and would be happy to recommend to our family and friends....."

"We had never been to Tunisia before and didn't know what to expect. When we got to the Rosa Beach it was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the rooms were so clean. My sons enjoyed the two weeks we were there. The eldest enjoyed the beach volley ball as well as the water polo everyday. My youngest son enjoyed the kids club and they both met loads of friends. The entertainment throughout the day was amazing and the entertainers were fantastic. It was worth every penny we spent on the holiday and we would definitely go back. It was brilliant to meet so many people from different countries and we have made friends with a Belgian family who we intend to keep in touch with."

"Please note that you are reading my opinion only. Some will agree some will not.
If you want a holiday that you are willing to be ripped off, this is the Hotel for you. If you want to pay an extra 2d (nearly £1) to have a drink of water with your evening meal that you have paid for with the half board deal, again this is the Hotel for you. If you want to book a trip that turns out nothing like it was explained, this is the Hotel for you. If you want an expensive Hotel that ignores you for the Germans and others, this is the hotel for you. If you want to relax either on the grounds, by the pool or on the beach with no open bar, this is the Hotel for you.
So if you are looking for a Hotel that will provide you with the following:
I rep that shows you pictures of the trip he is selling you containing a pictures of a nice blue coach with a photo of the passengers at the door smiling, a picture of the camels that you ride on and the group enjoying their meal. Then you find out when you go that the nice blue coach is an old pick up truck, the camel ride is ok after you are fitted with the headdress than charged 5d (about £2) for it. Then to top it all you pass the place where they live to see they have tied the two front legs of a donkey together and hitting with a stick to make it walk. The meal was no meal, it was bread tasting that you watch being made. For the very small drink you were charged a further 2d.
Waiters that pretend not to understand what you want to order.
Provides you with entertainment that you have never seen before and never want to see again.
Most of your food cold.
Miles from anywhere.
If this is what you are really looking for I will recommend this Hotel 100%.
If you are looking for a holiday that gives you value for money and a decent holiday than I would say look elsewhere.

Our experience in Tunisia was fantastic!...
"Our experience in Tunisia was fantastic!
We went for a relaxing beach holiday and Skanes is just the place for that. The weather was extremely hot reaching around 48 degrees, the hotel is directly on the beach so you have option of lazying around the pool or sunning it on a beatuiful beach, with plenty of watersports.
The hotel was lovely and kept very clean with cleaners coming in every day to change towels etc.. Food was average though but plenty of it. Entertainment was ok especially for the kids. It finished quite early but that was ok as you could stay around the pool and have plenty to drink.
You would be harrassed quite a lot to book trips or buy things, but I think that is in their nature.
Skanes is around a five minute drive in to Monistar so if you wanted to explore you would have the option. The hotel is next to the airport but honestly you didn't really notice that much.
Overall our holiday was brilliant and I would recommend this to families and couples wanting a relaxing enjoyable break. I would definately go back! "

"On arriving in Tunisia the first thing we noticed was the cleanliness. It was immaculate. The hotel itself was a slightly daunting prospect as it is touching shoulders with Monastir airport.
However the hotel was absolutely amazing, anyone wishing to come on a relaxing holiday this is the place to do it. HB food was definitely good value and Iâm glad I never went all inclusive as people were complaining about the drinks being only Tunisiaâs own, and were only served from 3-10pm not really worth the money! The food was fantastic, even for kids as we had a 1 year old boy at the time who loved the range of delicacies. The weather was unbelievably hot but unnoticeable when windy so be warned.
The rooms were spacious and the air conditioning really helped. The staff in the hotel were amazing the rep's entertained all day everyday (donât know where they got the energy). Be warned though, you are not allowed to take food and drink in other than that from the hotel and the hotel is rather expensive. We were caught smuggling vodka in the hotel and had it confiscated till our departure (boring). But never the less it was a cracking holiday.
Do take note that this is only for a relaxing holiday people wanted a lively holiday look again, even though there is a nightclub in the hotel it is pretty poor. Even though it looked attractive from the outside.
I would definitely return though, for a relaxing holiday."

Bad value for Tunisia and extras are exp...
"Bad value for Tunisia and extras are expensive so going full board not as good value as going to a hotel offering all inclusive.
Like many Tunisian hotels find difficulty with English residents and tend to have bias towards Germans, French and now Russians.
Food acceptable for lunch and dinner but breakfast poor by any other Tunisian hotels standard. Non - stop entertainment but get your German/ French handbook as not geared towards the English. Mealtimes a bit like the school canteen at a 60's co-ed and the 'entertainment 'staff a real pain yelling bon apetito non-stop! Waiters indifferent and have an ability to lose your opened bottle of wine which at £6.50 minimum is a rip off and not particularly wonderful. Headwaiter has a serious attitude problem, which is reflected in the majority of staff higher than cleaners. Cleanerâs lovely and work very, very hard.
Rooms are comfortable and adequate and linen changed regularly.
Poor position in respect of the beach and water very, very shallow so swimming virtually impossible - but good if you want to paddle. The pool is average and usually crowded.
Take mosquito killer as they are plentiful and have a wicked bite lasting many uncomfortable days.
Water is a must have but at a £1 a bottle somewhat expensive.
Thereâs a brilliant 'spa' facility which is extremely good value though at times its warmer outside than in the Turkish bath - however the staff are helpful and relatively flexible and all treatments are very good value.
Although 4* HAVE STAYED AT BETTER AND WITH BETTER VALUE. Its worth the extra to go all inclusive at the Emir Palace and even better value at the Skanes Garden where the food and beach are far superior.
Having now stayed at 2 Med Hotels in skanes - the other being the Liberty - they are O.K. for 7 days but to attract the British Market need to do a lot more if they are to have any credibility. There is a great marketing opportunity for the group but they need to re-think their strategies or itâs unlikely that they will make any worthwhile indent into the British market in the foreseeable future. 4* this hotel may say it is but the reality isnât always there or substantiated."
