Overall a good holiday in a good hotel with superb weather
"It's probably easier to start at the beginning... hopefully not missing anything! My fiancee and I wanted a last minute all inclusive holiday to somewhere guarenteed hot weather but affordable. The Thomson reps found me this hotel, advising it was going to have a high volume of children - accepting this we knew what to expect. 1st warning - Thomson will not allow bags over 25kg...if like us you go for convinience of only taking 1 bag make sure it isn't over 25kg (even though allowance is 20kg per person). We had to buy a new bag for £10 and repack at the airport! Monastir airport is easy and the transfer quick. 2nd warning - if you arrive before 1pm you can't go to your room!!! We arrived at 10.30am they took our suitcases and said come back at 1pm. I was wearing jeans, it was boiling hot and while we could get a drink/food at midday heat it was like torture. My advice pack/wear light clothes and swimstuff if you have an early arrival. The rooms are standard for a 3star hotel, we were quite lucky with a ground floor, pool view. A huge queen size bed and working air conditioning. Others weren't so lucky with familys crammed into small rooms, 3 flights of stairs up and broken air conditioning. The slides are fantastic and fun for all the family, just be very very wary of the salt water as some small children were seen coughing and evening throwing up due to this. Such a shame as the pool is massive and gorgeous... they should consider changing the water to the same as the other pools. Also please watch out for all the surfaces around the pools, many people fell over as incredibly slippery. The entertainment pool was great fun, with the aqua aerobics and sun dance. On the wednesday they do an olympics day, great for the adults so get involved!! The beach is small and a small amount of seaweed but the sea is very very warm. My partner did get stung by a stray jellyfish leg so we prefferred the pools. As for touts they aren't too bad once you say no and will move on. Try the watersports as well, paragliding is excellent. Food was average, generally I would advice the outside grill bar... always something to eat. Finally the animation team... if your English (you will be in the minority) 'Rio' will really take care of you, his English is outstanding and he will remember your names from day one - in fairness he made the holiday for us. The animation team are all great. It was a 3* hotel, it was very children orientated, it was full of french/germans and russians but it was enjoyable, relaxing, hot, comfortable and I would go back tomorrow."

TUNISA CARIBBEAN WORLD IS NOT TO BAD ...READ PLEASE IF GOING..
"Hi just come back from caribbean world, please watch out for the idiots in the white linen blend suits with the flip flops a size to small for them, they sell dreaded trips and go by the name ali barbaba...it is a camel excursion(i wouldnt of called it that more like animal cruelity) but anyway they con you, they first reconise your origin and promise you a fab day out with the same kind of peeps,so we was english they promised it would be a english trip......it wasnt they were 2 other english girls and the rest around 100 of them french/german etc...so the conversation that day was minimal, not a great start...the bus that collects you from the hotel is more like a tin heap of scrap and filty..the animals camels and horses on the trip were not treat nice at all(no water and whipped) the cart that you get on that the horse pulls get lumbered with around 50 stone(20+ peeps)and is expected to gallop thr a cactus farm in heat that would melt icebergs,he is whipped numerous of times and crys out in pain..neway you are def not safe as the cart one in front of us had its own mind and went like the clappers straight into a mai road narrowerly missing a bendy bus and clamped out van...the lady that makes the bread at the end of this awful memerory has only one hand and is cringing as she places the bread into a hot oven(not nice to see)....we were disgusted with the way we were treated throughout the trip and they never returned any of our money like they promise when you are handing over cash...so please a little advice see your rep first there trips are alot better and planned thouroughly and they are fully insured not like these cowboys....all in all a nice holiday not alot to do at night apart from mini disco for the children which is fun but comes to a holt at 9.30pm but the animation team work hard and are very good and do there best to entertain all, friendly place and the tunisiains love the english and are very polite...nearly had afew probs with the germans been so arogant but we got thru our 2 weeks without a bust up...weather nice but at night do bring a cardigan or long sleeve top as the wind is very chilly and gets quite violent after 7pm,strange for afica but its good to know(wish we had known)my two small children loved the kids club(first choice) and enjoyed going there more than the holiday itself, they love the children and really do entertain them and look after them 100%...sorry to go on but i have to mention the "golden sandy beach"....well its nothing like it says in the brochure it is around 3 foot wide and 2 of them feet are washed with sea weed and mangled up fish, not clean at all but it still got quite busy in the day(not sure why)...not fussy peeps beleive it or not but that beach was disgusting comes on par with the trip definatley...did meet some lovely people and made some good friends so enjoyed my hols, but was desperate to write a review as i looked for reviews on this hotel and not many showed up....oh yes and the hotel is new to english....so alot more forgien peeps there.. anyway thats all i wanted to say hope it helps, dont feel put of as its very clean and nice around the pools..."

Excelent Family Holiday!!!
"Our second time in Tunisia all inclusive, and it just gets better and better. Picked a great hotel 10 mins from the airport and met some new friends. Our choice of hotel was based on budget and I was very impressed with what we got for our money. A clean, tidy, well run hotel with everything a small family needs. The reception is efficient and they speak excelent english. Very helpful during the ash cloud delay providing us with the same room for an extra night including all inclusive. Our room was located in the main building clean and tidy with a decent pressure shower/bath. Fridge and powerpoints, hairdryer, etc. Didn't really notice noise from building at night, slept ok but beds are hard! An excelent kids club (first choice) run by "silly" Sarah & "mad" Mike.A very capapble and trustworthy pair. They were brilliant with both my girls. Times were 11-1 , 3-5 & 9ish-11 most days (they need a day off, although my daughters didn't agree!) one or two paid parties/activities about 6 dina, pennies! The restaurant is well organised with helpful staff and has a good selection of different meals for kids and adults alike. Even the pool bar has a good lunch, although repetetive. Speaking of the pool, what a setup! Kids have small slides and there's also a few good ones for the big kids!! The "U" shaped one is amazing! The rest of the pool area is clean and tidy plenty of sunbeds! Towels at dawn anyway if you want a regular spot!! The facilities are good with a shop that sells most everyday bits and bobs. There are a selection of activities although the pool gets most of the time, archery was good, tennis football, volley ball etc. Bar staff are polite and they seem to keep the ques down in the evening! Remember the bar shuts to all inclusive at 11pm so get your drinks before the show finishes! The evening entertainment is brilliant!! The usual inuendos, but all harmless fun. Audience participation is recomended!! The animation team is excelent with some very entertaining shows. Which leads me to Rio, he made our holiday complete. A friend for life. His presence gives you a real buzz.. He's a nice guy to have around. His english is perfect so look out for him and have a chat. He'll really make you laugh, laugh, laugh!!! Thank you Rio x A truely great place to take the family!!!"

EXELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY
"New this year to the english so still a bit of a language barrier for them & us Very good for the money , the hotel very clean 24/7 ,a lot of improvments going on during our 2 weeks. Staff were friendly & hard working especially the ANIMATION TEAM. They seem to be working all day & night. Our 3rd year to Skanes Tunisia & we luv it but this would come as our last choice. But value for money is exellent we had 2 weeks for the same price as our previous trips for 1 week so you get for what you pay! Couldn't grumble really we had a great time met some luvly people especially RIO FROM THE ANIMATION TEAM ! His english is very good & he has all the time in the world for us , Make the time & effort to speak to him & trust me you'll have many nites with aching ribs cos his sense of humor is second to none, He made our holiday for us My biggest dissapointment is the beach , well what there is of it !"

"Last summer we went to Tunesia for the 3rd time. We chose Hotel Caribbean World. When we arrived, we checked in very quickly, while we were drinking our welcome coctails. The rooms were good, of course not luxorious but as a 4star hotel looks like in the African countries. In the restaurant there was great variety of food, and you can eat snack at night. The animation team was really good, and friendly;) And the aqua park part of rthe hotel was great as I saw my younger sisters and brother running back to the slides to go down on them as many time as possible. So in my opinion it is a good choice for families with younger and also teenage children, and i recomend this hotel for groups of friends at any age."

Don't go there!
"It was the second time that we spent our holidays in Tunisia and because of the fact that we have enjoyed our first holidays in this country we thought it was a good idea to return... Unfortunately we did not choose the same hotel, which was Iberostar Phenicia and we thought that Caribbean was a good option. When we arrived (we were about 30 people...), it was told that the hotel was overbooking and that we had to stay the first night in a room that was not exactly what we had seen in the internet.... you can not imagine how bad these rooms were (dirty, without ventilation, one of the rooms did not have water in the bathroom, etc.). Of course, we refused sleeping in that conditions and the solution was share a forth room with another couple that we did not meet... The room was not so bad, but it was also bad. The day after, we have the possibility to move to another room, but it was also dirty (we found a man painting the room where we were suppose to sleep). So we decided to change to another hotel, which was not also what we have bought... The receptionist was also very impolite, he said that we did not have any reason for complaining because the hotel has 4 swimming pools and good food (he forgot to say that the restaurant was not clean and the dishes were dirty!). We applied for the complaint book but they said that they did not have it since it was not an European hotel... so we wrote in a sheet of paper a complaint but they refuse to receive it. We will not forget this horrible holidays and our advice is really not to go there."

"I have just returned from one week on Monastir. It was probably a group of 90 tourists in that flight with the destination in Caribbean World. The night we enter the Hotel is to forget. They offer us a quickly meal and than the perfect confusing at the recepcion. They ask us to fill some papers with our personal identification and wait for the distribution of the rooms. Whe were tired and we only can see that they could not resolve the problem (overbooking). Some tourists were very nervous. After more than 2 hours !!! i was able to have a room (2.15 am). 30 people as not the same lucky and they were transfered to another Hotel. After this bad experience we expect our holidays will be a torment. Hopefully not. The Hotel is very big. With several restaurants. The meals were very pleasent. Also several swimming pools and an interesting Aqua Park. The animation group it is Very Good. So we can say: after a bad begining an excelent finish (the night show of light and sound, comemorative of National Holiday of Tunisia 25-07-2006)"
