First time in Tunisia and won't be our l...
"First time in Tunisia and won't be our last!! Booking to go again in April 08.
Me and my wife went to check out Tunisia to see if it was suitable to take our 7 year old son to next year. We stayed at the Riu Club Hotel Bellevue Park, and what can I say the hotel is BEAUTIFUL only being refurbished last year by Riu.
The staff are very friendly and will do anything for you. The food was absolutely gorgeous and drinks were good too not as large measures as in Spain but when they are free what the hell you just drink more if you want to get tipsy. Tip the waiters a few times and you don't even have to go to the bar, I was told to go sit down when I tried and our drinks were fetched all night!!!
December is popular with the older crowd but despite being a lot younger than most of the hotel guests we had a whale of a time.
Our room had a pool and sea view and was very clean as was the entire hotel, we had a free safe and free fridge in our room both of these we had to pay for on previous holidays to Ibiza.
Port el Kantoui is very nice and we were not hassled very much only being politely invited into shops and if you say no thanks it was left at that.
Also nearby to the Riu Club Hotel Bellevue Park, are a couple of fixed price stores one of which " Miami" is on about 5 floors and they are very good value, My wife was in handbag heaven in there.
I also hired a catamaran with a friend from the harbour for a 2 1/2 hour fishing trip which they supplied the gear for only cost us £30 between us and we had the boat to ourselves other than the crazy captain who caught far more fish than both of us.
Weather wise December is a lot warmer in Tunisia than at home wore shorts every day and got a tan by the end of the week most days were round 70'f.
In summer the hotel has a kids club and will be good for kidâs pool is large and the type that goes shallow at the edge also has a kidâs pool and indoor pools as well.
Free gym near indoor pool and also a spa onsite but you do have to pay for this but good value a 50 min massage was £12.00.
The hotel has direct access onto the beach and you can walk down the beach right to the port takes around 25 mins or you can get a taxi at hotel gates for about £1.60.
See you there first week in April."

Our first visit to Tunisia and to Port E...
"Our first visit to Tunisia and to Port El Kantaoui. The hotel was fantastic could not find fault in any way.
The bedrooms were very roomy, plenty of wardrobe space, TV but only BBC world and CNN in English, room safe and mini fridge supplied FOC first for us, as we normally have to pay extra for a room safe.
Roomâs cleaned and fresh towels and sheets everyday if needed lovely view from the balcony over the pool area and sea view.
Plenty of variety at meal times you would have to be very fussy not to find something to your taste, you have to remember that you are not in the UK and donât expect full English for breakfast, eggs every day but bacon maybe twice per week and certainly not your best back.
Plenty of variety at lunch and dinner with themed evenings twice per week, staff always helpful, and tables cleared immediately you finish.
Entertainment - what can I say EXCELLENT! The 'animation' team which was made up of 5 lads and 2 girls worked extremely hard from 10am until 11pm with constant smiles on their faces ~ genuine smiles as they all seemed to enjoy every minute of every day and they were always courteous, happy and helpful.
You could choose from early morning exercise, darts, volley ball, boules, and archery throughout the day to the night time entertainment which surpassed all our expectations.
Very professional shows every night put on by the lads. Certainly recommend this hotel."

"We have travelled to Tunisia many many times and have always found it to be fine. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were told that our room wasn't ready and had to go for lunch first. First impressions were fine. When we were shown to our room, it seemed ok, but after about an hour, we noticed ants - thousands of them pouring out of every orifice. We had to change rooms as we couldn't put up with them. We know you get ants in hot countries, but as well travelled tourists, we can honestly say we've never ever had them in the hotel room.
The food was fine, always served hot, and you could sit anywhere for your breakfast and lunch but were allocated a table for evening meals.
The pools were lovely and plenty of sunbeds and parasols, no need to reserve your sunbeds no matter what time of day you went down to the pool there were plenty left. The beach area also had lots of sunbeds and the area was very clean.
Overall, the episode with the ants spoilt our holiday, we weren't the only ones it seemed everyone along our corridor had the same problem. What a shame. We wouldn't return to this hotel."

"Having just returned from spending 1 week at this hotel I can definitely say I would return.
The hotel is a short taxi ride from the main marina area which costs about 4 dinar - £1.80, the hotel has an indoor pool and Jacuzzi which didn't seem to get used much whilst we were there. My partner used the gym every day and was quite happy with the various machines available.
The staff are very friendly, give them a tip and your drinks are poured as you start walking towards the bar!
The food was fine, although as with most all inclusive it does tend to get a bit boring after a week.. Pizza and chips available every lunchtime...the food was always hot and we never had any problems with food running out, although watch out for the Russians who just barge in and fill their plates as if food were going out of fashion.
The rooms were spacious and we had a view overlooking the pool area, we never had any problems getting sunbeds or towels. The rooms were cleaned daily with clean towels left.
Although friends that we met were without towels 2 days in a row...one call to reception and they were sent up. TIP - take your own hairdryer unless you have a short hair, as the hairdryer is useless!
The hotel is located directly onto the beach where you can go off on a jet ski or Para sailing...this was an ideal 1 week chill holiday."

"On arrival, we were impressed with the hotel, the lobby is gorgeous. We were given a welcome drink then shown to our room which appeared nice to start with. needed a little attention but that didnât bother us.
The pool area was large having a childrenâs pool and an adult pool. Plenty of sunbeds to go round with spare ones too even though the hotel was full. The beach was nice and sandy also had plenty of sunbeds.
The restaurant was fine, you could sit anywhere for breakfast and lunch, but were allocated a table for evening meal. However if you didnât like where the waiter put you, you could ask to be moved. The food was nice and plentiful, with plenty of choice.
The only downside to our holiday was the fact that our room was overrun with ants, lots of them. They were pouring out of the holes left around the doorframes, patio, skirting boards etc. We werenât the only ones to suffer; lots of people on our corridor all had the same problem. Pest control wasnât very effective, neither was the recent renovation. Oh well, thereâs always the next holiday to look forward to as we didnât relax thanks to the ants.

Good, but not that good Hotel.
"For the reviews i've read of this hotel, i thought i've made a good choise.
Can't say it was that bad, but they still have a lot to learn until they diserve a 5 rate.
The good things are:
-The 'all included' is 'all included'
-Animation (day and night)
Not so good:
-Food variaty: the food was almost the same for an entiry week but the quality is good
-Beach: First of all there were lots of jellyfishes in the sea; the camels used the beach as bathrooms and nobody cleans; guests leaves plates with food near the water in the morning and at the end of the day are still there; there are so many motor boats in the sea that the smell of petrol is intense.
-Be very carefull if you need a 'Cortesy Room' in the check out day. Although i've been assured that a room would be available for me to use before i leave (normal in 4 star hotels all over the world) in the day it wasn't. Only after a 5 minute discution they gave me a room, but i saw people taking a bath in the swimming pool facilities and getting dressed in the luggage room.
The final idea is that they still have a lot to learn until they can offer a quality service.
If you are looking for a fun hotel and the details are not that important then i believe it is a good choise.
I won't be back there, and probably not even to Tunisia."

"We spent 2 lovely weeks in this hotel. Except some ants problem
in bathroom we didn't find any more bad things. Very good
and varying food, service and cleanliness on high level.
Animation perfect. Beautiful sand beach for hotel guests
with water sports. Hotel is perfect for families with children.

It ain't 'alf hot mum
"I have read the various reviews of this hotel with great interest over the last few months.
I give great respect to the views of the people that have actually stayed at the resorts and hotels. The reports have been getting better and better as time has gone on.
I would say that of the many hotels I have stayed in during the last 25 years that this is one of my favourites.
The rooms were spacious and very clean, the hotel communial areas were well presented and again very clean especially the pool and reception.
The best bits were the attentive staff, very very good standard of food and the excellent value for money.
The worst point were 'kind of expected' but none the less annoying.
These are in no paticular order:
Rubbish animation team, best described as being roughly on par with the "It ain't 'alf hot mum" TV program
The management of the restaurant during the second evening sitting felt more like my works canteen during the half hour rush, than the quality venue that it really is (maybe a more flexible dining arrangement would improve this?)
The lack of sunbeds after 8.30am around the pool
And I'm not sure how Thomson can advertise Satellite TV in the rooms when all but 2 (news cahannels) are non english?
Don't be put off though because the good points far out weight the bad ones, they could do with being managed better.
You really must visit the American theme bar at least once or twice during your stay to meet one of the nicest bamen I have ever met (I have been in the industry for 15 years).
Please book today and you will enjoy yourself - I promise"

Probably best Hotel in Kantaoui
"We spent 2 weeks in the Riu Bellevue park. As we have been spending our last 5 summer holidays in Tunesia we can compare the hotel with 5 other 4 star hotels. The service is really extraordinarily good. The Hotel management seems to focus on service quality as a main differentiator and they are pretty successful. All inclusive is generous and food quality is very good as well. Be careful with the 2 room suite (Type A) as they have all view on a very noisy generator from the neighbour hotel.
As a lot of the guests use to complain about these rooms, the reception staff will most often give another room after 2 days.
The 2 tennis courts are poorly maintained and are useless for advanced players. So not perfect, but very very good Hotel for Tunesian standards. I would without hesitation return again to the Riu Bellevue Park. Congratulation to the management and the staff!"

"Wow, what a hotel. this was our first trip to Tunisia and and having heard a few horror stories we were a bit weary. No need with this hotel from the moment you arrive. The staff are the best i have ever come across, nothing is too much trouble and they always happy to see you and soo polite. The food ia amazing with breakfast starting at 7.30am and food then all the way to 9.45pm. everthing and anything is available and with three themed nights, we never got bored. we took or 1year old son and to be fair the outside kiddies pool is to exposed with little shade, but with 2 indoor pools, one for children it was no problem. The evenings are a lttle quiet, but for a relaxing holiday in a top hotel you wont be disappointed."

Very friendly, clean hotel
"The staff are the most friendly we have come across, from manager to cleaner they always had a friendly smile and welcome.
Rooms were clean and tidy but sea view over local unfinished buildings. All rooms have sea views but half overlook the pool and the other half face outwards. No real problem with this as we did not spend much time on the balcony anyway.
Beach was good but there is very limited swiming in marked zones to keep you away from the power boats. These are every few hundred yards up the beach providing para gliding and banana boat rides. All negotiable.
Hotel pool is great.
Animation team good if you enjoy that sort of thing and the kids ( 5 teenagers) had plenty to do if they wanted to join in.
Food was good and varied. Poolside bar with snacks from 10:00 to 17:00 which everyone enjoyed.
No queues for anything and we were there at busy time."
