"Actualy we ended up here after fleeng the noisy beach on the north coast of Zanzibar.
then we were recommended to Mbuyuni .
My mother and I stayed here for 5 nights ,it was an amazing experience and we were glad , we had chosen the place.
It was cleaner and much more relaxed and quieter unlike the the Beach on the North of the Island.
It is place with a atmosphere all of its own,you really can gain peace of mind here, the bungalows are rustic , abosulutely persnalized with great and friendly staff.
Overrall,We enjoyed our stay ,its like you are on your private holiday home.
But we do not think, is suitable place for partgoers as the place is so quiet and calm."

Good value for good price

"Mbuyuni Beach Village is a calm and quiet place, as decribed on their homepage. You will find good value bungalows for a good price which makes your stay not as comfortable as in a five star hotel, but once you have decided to go to East Coast Zanzibar, you are probably looking for nice beaches, silent environment and peaceful people - and you will find exactly that in Mbuyuni!
Do not expect noisy tourist business, except beach boys who have unfortunately discovered the whole East Coast in meantime, but a very relaxed atmosphere with very friendly and helpful stuff, who can organise (beside the typical trips) bicycles as well and will always give you advice for whatever you ask.
If you think about staying mainly at that place, consider taking halfboard from the beginning as single dishes will cost you more or less the same, normally a little more then half board. Breakfast is always included and consists of fruit juice, an omelette, some slices of toasted bread, a small fruit plate and tea (bags) and/or (instant) coffee.
The only thing you should be aware of is that the place is really for people who are seeking a quiet area! The village Jambiani is too far away to hop over and Paje's "city center" is even closer but not close enough, neither.
Overall jusgement: If you like to have a pure, clean ocean view and the silence of a lonely place to relax your soul, surrounded by friendly, more or less well English speaking stuff, GO THERE!"

"My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Mbuyuni while travelling around Africa / Zanzibar.
Stayed for 6 nights in May time, the room rate was very reasonable.
The staff are friendly, helpful and very obliging.
The rooms are large and reasonable stylish.
It is relatively smaller compared in nature compared to other hotels on the Island but we did not mind as we wanted a real Zanzibarian atmosphere for our trip to Zanzibar.
The food is well prepared and delicious especial fresh sea food. The place is full of green surrounds which help to shade the area during the mid day sun.
Mbuyuni is amazing hide away where you can escape from the trappings of modern life.
Overall for those who are not so rich not looking for 5 Star hotel, this hotel is a wonderful
place to escape from the rest of the world while enjoying the old charm of Zanzibar Island."

"My husband and I have just returned from a 10- nights stay at Mbuyuni beach village, and i can honestly say we had a wonderful time.

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and informative. Our room was clean and comfortable. The manager organized a dolphin tour and snorkeling to us.
Other positive on this place is run by Zanzibar's people unlike neighbour hotels,so it give a chance to really experience the local atmosphere.
Overall the price is reasonable ,If you are going for a rest,It is lovely!

"I have loved the place. It is tranquil, calm, quite, relaxing. This family-managed resort is a great location to spend your vacations in zanzibar. the price is modic, the staff are friendly and will familiarize with you quickly. I personally ordered my dinners to Mr. Shehe every day he would buy for me fresh fish, lobsters, shrimps and cook it in a fantastic way. The place is located in Jambiani, but Paje is closer. We used to ride our bycicles (that the hotel staff will make available for you in no time) to paje or also walk to paje along the beach in 30 minutes. My girlfriend and I will never forget the experience and the welcoming atmosphere we found. The place is also cheap. If you are going to Zanzibar and you are looking for a quite place, this is the place for you. you will feel immediately at home and will only regret to leave it!"

"Booked it but didn't stay there after we saw it - far, far away from Jambiani (30 minutes walking), beach below Jambiani standards, feels deserted. Room uglier than on pictures, shabby bathroom - just not worth the money. There are better options in Jambiani."

was exactly what we were looking for,
The staff are friendly,They arranged Snorkelling and Dolphin tours for us
We also did a Jambiani village tours from here,is great village to
explore.
There are alots of hammocks and sun beds along the quiet beach.
They have a big collection of books at their restaurant
The young manager \"Shehe Ali\" is very nice lad, always smilling and
very helpful with anything you want to know or do.
It is not a five star hotel, but everything else is absolutely amazing,
