Perfect in every way
"Well there's not much I can say here that hasn't already been said in all the wonderful reviews. My parents booked this place for my boyfriend and I as a xmas present. I had never been to morocco and it was my boyfriends first time overseas, so it was great to have someone pick us up from the airport and show us to the riad. We would have had a hard time finding it otherwise."

Wonderful Riad Kniza
"Our first visit to Marrakech was made even more memorable by our stay at the Riad Kniza. The staff were courteous, friendly and efficient. The food and service was excellent. Anything we asked for was provided. Nothing was too much trouble. We could not have been happier. Such a joy to relax in this riad after the exciting hustle and bustle outside. To have breakfast on the roof terrace was such a pleasure. We could not have had a more enjoyable experience. Thank you all so very much."

astonishing care and service
"My wife and I have returned from the Kniza. I have stayed in many hotels, in many countries, but we were touched and awestruck by the Kniza. Each room is exquisitely furnished and decorated. The food was wonderful, certainly better than most restaurants we found. But the main memory was the careful, personal, attentive service. The staff all actively sought us out to ask if we'd like or needed anything. I remember lying on the terrace engrossed in a book, barely realising the man setting up a lamp to read by as the sun went down, and the tray of delicious mint tea left for me. This is a gem, do not hesitate, visit the Kniza, you will thank yourself"

Exquisite, authentic & best of the best
"I have lived in Morocco for several years, have visited many private riads and villas and can say that Riad Kniza is the most beautiful and relaxing place to stay that you can find. It is a masterpiece of traditional artisanal handwork ranging from carved stucco walls, hand-painted beams, mosaic fountains, hand-embroidered silk curtains, antique furniture, rare bedouin jewelry, antique books ... and excellent breakfasts! Although the riad does not have a restaurant of its own, you can special order a wonderful Moroccan meal. The atmosphere and surroundings speak of beauty, harmony and relaxation. The owner and his family are welcoming and attentive to your every need. Wi-fi internet access available. We have stayed at Sofitel on another occasion and it was nowhere near the level of service and amenities that Riad Kniza offers. We will always stay here, space permitting! (No, I am no relation to them! (-;)"

Kniza kouldn't be knicer
"My wife and I have just returned from our first short break to Marrakesh. We were bombarded with hotel advice from friends who had been but decided to follow Trip Advisor's No. 1 selection. We were so glad we did! From the personal meeting at the airport by the boss man himself to our sad farewll to him at the airline check-in desk four days later, it was perfection all the way. The ideal location inside the Medina, (the only place to stay), the attentive, efficient, charming, modest staff, the beautiful house lovingly restored, the superb suite complete with real fire, the delicious Morroccan meal on our first evening. Marrakesh was magical. Riad Kniza made it more so."

fully lives up to expectations
"We stayed at Riad Kniza for three nights with our two teenage girls. Without exception the service and attention to detail was flawless and the philosophy extends to all members of staff, not just the managers. Nothing seemed too much trouble, all delivered with a smile. We had our best meal here, the girls loved being located centrally in the medina and coming back to their 'oasis'. My daughter even got assistance with her 'a' level french homework which is definately abvove and beyond the call of duty! We would definately stay here if we visted Marrakech again and can thoroughly recommend it."

One of the Best
"A group of friends -- City solicitors and executives -- have just returned from two nights in Marrakech where we stayed at Riad Kniza. Although we were somewhat skeptical before the trip that the hotel would live up to the rave reviews, we are very pleased to report that we unanimously agree that Riad Kniza was one of the best hotel experiences. Period. We started with the friendly welcome at the airport; the stunning courtyard and rooftop garden; and the intricate woodwork and beautiful furnishings in the rooms. We continued with the delicious tagines on the first night of our stay and the gracious service throughout. We chilled out the first night beside a roaring fire. The next night, based on the hotel's recommendations, we experienced a more exciting Monday night at Comptoir, Mammounia casino and Marrakech bars than most Friday nights in London. One of the distinguishing features was the attention to detail and the genuine desire to please the guests. For example, three of us were sharing the duplex suite, which sleeps three adults comfortably. However, the next morning, we were asked whether we would like to use another suite the next evening as it wasn't being occupied -- free of charge. This is the kind of extra, gracious step that results in appreciation and loyalty. Go to Riad Kniza; discover for yourself this special oasis in the heart of bustling Marrakech."

Blazing log fires
"We were thrilled by the Riad Kniza and it definitely made our stay in Marrakech. The weather was cold and wet which could have dampened our spirits but the blazing open fire in our bedroom and the exceptional service ensured that we stayed with a smile on our faces. We were offered drinks continuously throughout our stay (coffee, tea, mint tea all served with biscuits) and were very surprised at the end to find that they were all complementary. We would highly recommend staying in for dinner at least one night as the tagines were the best we had tasted. The staff made restaurant bookings, organised a hammam visit (les Bains de Marrakech - v. good) and a driver to take us into the mountains. Only unusual aspects (not criticisms) were that the doors to the rooms aren't locked and there is no price list for room service (albeit that the local bottles of wine weren't overly expensive). Ate at dar Moha one evening and despite the reviews we were unimpressed by the food."

"Riad Kniza With only three days off for our unofficial honeymoon, we wanted an un-problematic and relaxing visit in Marrakech. Thank god for TripAdvisor because it led me to the perfect spot: Riad Kniza! We just returned from one of the most flawless trips ever- and the loveliest hotel stay weâve ever enjoyed! Weâve both traveled extensively over the past 10 years and stayed at a number of top-quality boutique hotels as well as 5-star luxury hotels. And we can honestly say that we have NEVER experience such superior service as we did at Riad Kniza! Every bit of praise that other travelers had posted on TripAdvisor is well-deserved; you simply donât find this combination of well-appointed rooms, meticulously maintained facilities, and superior level of service anywhere else. We felt like royalty from the moment we arrived. I had asked Kamal to prepare us something to eat since we would be arriving late in the evening. What awaited us was a delicious four-course meal served beside a roaring fire â a better introduction to Marrakech is impossible! This is just one example of how Riad Kniza consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure their guests have a stress-free, enjoyable stay. The first night we stayed in the Oriental Room which lacked a fireplace but boasted one of the most ornate and beautiful ceilings we had ever seen. We took about 10 photos of the ceiling alone! The next evening we moved to the Marjana suite which was our favorite since it possessed a lovely tiled fireplace. Each night we returned to our room to find that the fire had already been sent; it was as if the Riad knew when we would be home and had the room warm for us (which I am sure they really did know- that is the attention to detail that makes Kniza stand-out). The Riad itself truly is an oasis; we found ourselves happy to return home after a day in the souks to enjoy afternoon mint tea and the general tranquility of the Riad. Itâs sun terrace boasts great views of the Atlas mountains and is a fabulous spot to enjoy breakfast. But what really makes Kniza stand-out is its people; you simple wonât find a warmer welcome than from Mohammad, Kamal and the rest of their family. Kamal personally took us under his wing with a personalized tour of the city and arranged everything we fancied: restaurants, antique store visits, horse-carriage ride, and a private Hamman. His taste is impeccable; he seemed to know our tastes and was able to make very personalized recommendations for us. He and the rest of the Riad staff anticipated our every need; they arranged taxis, light lunches and teas without our having to ask first. Perhaps the best example of how Kamal goes out of his way to make his guests happy was our departure. We had not had time to find flavored tobacco for our hookah. Kamal drove us to the airport and not only accompanied us into the terminal to ensure safe transfer but purchased a bad of flavored tobacco for us. These are just small examples of how welcoming the Riad is! We truly felt like part of the family and were able to spend our weekend completely stress-free. Congratulations Kamal- you have exceeded are already high expectations!"

The ideal place to stay!
"We stayed at a few riads in marrakech and essouira and none could compare to riad kniza. The decor was classic and elegant. We came across this riad by fluke by reading previous reviews on tripadvisor and booked for 1 night only. However, when we got there, we extended our booking because we fell in love with the place. I think it's very important to stay in a relaxing riad in marrakech especially when you come back from a long day at the souks or just wondering about the city. It makes your holiday more enjoyable and oh I forgot... the most distinguishing factor about this riad is it's great service... some riads only have caretakers who don't provide any service except showing you to your room but this riad is family run and the service is second to none. We've stayed at a lot of 5-star hotels in many countries and have to admit, the service here is comparable if not better... not a budget place but i would highly recommend this riad and it is worth the splurge! enjoy!"

this is the place
"We stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon and would have stayed longer if there were rooms available. This riad is absolutely gorgeous. There are many options in Marrakesh, and many appealing riads, but Riad Kniza is one of the best. We travel a lot and have had the pleasure of staying in many of the top hotels around the worldâit's the details that separately the good from the great. At Riad Kniza, we stayed in a room called Marjana - the smallest room, apparently, and the only one available. We arrived in the middle of the night, exhausted and addled after a long trip of many delays, but Kamal, the hotel director (who speaks English fluently, by the way) picked us up at the airport and smoothly led us down a dark aley and through a glowing courtyard, up a winding lantern-lit staircase to our room. The fire was smoldering in the fireplace when we walked in, and the staff cheerfully brought us a delicious chicken-with-olives tagine feast with wine and candlelight even though it was so late. From the sumptuous bedspread and drapes to the exquisite carved ceiling, the stone floor and the large marble bathroom with a huge deep tub, this room had everything we could have wanted. We woke up the next morning to the sound of the staff changing the rose pedals in the fountainâall the riads have rose pedals in the fountain, but not always an abundance of fresh ones (again, the details). They helped us find a room in another riad and gave us a lot of good advice about excursions. Charming, exquisite, peaceful, relaxing and privateâRiad Kniza has everything you are looking for."
