A real holiday
"This hotel offers a place to relax and to feel at home. It's a bliss to take a refreshing bath in the riads pool in the heat of summer. The view over the city from the terrace gives you a feeling of freedom and peace. Enjoying there an excellent dinner by the hotels cook is an unforgettable experience. The cook knows her job and is able to fulfill any wishes. We also enjoyed the traditional breakfast very much. We especially appreciated that the hotel staff was very friendly and openhearted and helped us to create a real holiday."

"We found the riad through trip advisor and it did not disappoint. The location of the hotel down a narrow street leads to an oasis, Jean Pierre greeted us like an old friend and was always happy to help us, he organised daily excursions for us to a pool and the atlas mountains. He also drew us a map and guided us through our first journey into the maze of souks. The riad is a short walk to the square and it's easy to get to all the tourist areas from there. The rooms were beautifully decorated and furnished and the whole riad had a great relaxed feel to it. Thanks for a great stay! Steven and jodi I can't recommend it enough!"

Great place to stay, helpful too!
"We stayed at Riad Charlott' at the beginning of August, and didn't regret it one bit. Pierre, an owner from France, was taking care of the place while the manager was on holidays, and was really helpful with whatever we needed, including leading us to Djeema el fna square after he had just gotten back from there himself. The room was awesome, big, different. The small "pool" was nice in the Marrakech summer heat. I recommend arranging a pickup at the airport through the hotel, because otherwise it will be tough getting there."

Good location, excellent staff
"After 7h by train from Meknes, we arrived to Marrackech. We had the address but nota reference in the medina to arrive to the riad (taxi drivers didn't know where the riad was). For this reason, we called to the riad, a man called Ahmed helped us to arrive there. The riad is very well located. It is a new restored riad, which mices the old and the new. They received us with mint tea and morocan biscuits. We had problems in our room with the hot water to have shower, we informed Ahmed, he gave us a good solution to this problem (we changed the room). This riad has excellent 360º views from its terrace to all the Medina, this is due to its height. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Ahmed gave us the possibility to have the breakfast on the patio or in the terrace, we chose the terrasse due to its views. We want to thank Ahmed and Fatima for their help during our stay."

"The previous review gives a comprehensive roundup of the place and I just want to confirm how great this Riad really is! We were made to feel at home immediately, the amazing staff and Jean-Pierre will help you with ANYTHING you need, the food in the Riad is best we had in Marrakesh (make sure you get the Pastilla!), the top terrace is soooo relaxing, the location is perfect, the rooms are luxurious yet not 'western', the jacuzzi is sometimes needed and the breakfasts are delicious. I've missed out so much about this Riad, but it all comes together to make this place a magical place that we will never forget If you are reading Jean-Pierre, my thanks to you and your brilliant staff, Ahmed, etc."

BEAUTIFUL RIAD IN A PERFECT LOCATION
"I chose this riad after spending hours on the internet trying to determine where to stay on our first visit to Marrakech. It was because of other reviews on trip advisor that we chose the riad charlott and i have to say it was the perfect choice. The riad is in the perfect location and really is beautiful. The staff can´t do enough for you and helped us in every aspect of our stay. Jean Pierre (the owner) arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and then met us at the closest point to the riad, (taxis can only go so far as the streets are so narrow only donkeys and mopeds are allowed!!) At this point a man came with a cart to carry our luggage so we didn´t have to struggle! It is only a 5 minute walk but all the same an eye opener! On getting to the riad it is like an oasis and a truly different world, you wouldn´t believe you were in the same place! I´m really glad we chose the riad and not a big hotel as you get a real feel for the place! The riad its self is decorated beautifully, very stylish and comfortable and the rooms are stunning. We stayed in a suite but if we returned would probably choose a normal room as we didn´t use the sitting area upstairs, it was very nice but we literally slept in our rooms because we were out exploring so didn´t use the extra space!! We had rose petals laid out on the bed (which was very comfortable) on arrival and every day after that also!! Very romantic!! There is a tv in the rooms but only french tv... not that we had chance to watch it anyway!! The rooms are very stylish and very comfortable! The only thing that will disturb your sleep is the prayers at 4am as they go to mosque 5 times a day! This isn´t a reflection on the riad as you would hear it wherever you stay!! There is a roof terrace at the riad which is also very nice to sit and relax and have a glass of wine! (Drinking is ilegal in marrakech so not widely available, we only found one other place where we could have a drink!) Breakfast was included which was a selection of home made pastries and jams which were lovely, that was included in the price and was served with coffee, tea and oj. We had a massage one afternoon in the riad which was great and very reasonable (45â¬) for an hour. We did eat in the hotel the 1st night, the meal was lovely and again reasonable. You can eat in Marrakech very cheaply and very expensively (the same as anywhere) we ate on the square twice and that was very cheap (4⬠per person!!) but we also ate in nice restaurants which again were very different to most places but were much more expensive (50⬠per person) The riad is only 10 mins from the main square and 2 mins to the souks which you have to walk through to get to the square! We spent hours walking through the souks and they truly are amazing, they are never ending and you will without doubt get lost.. It all adds to the fun though!! Be prepared to haggle as you will pay a lot less than their 1st price! Again this is good fun and they expect it! The square its self is again an eye opener and is worth a visit during the day and again at night! There is everything from snake charmers to men selling false teeth! UNBELIEVABLE!! I have never been anywhere like Marrakech in my life and would definitely go back! tip: dress appropriately and you will be fine, i am blonde and was worried i would get mithered but that wasn´t the case at all the people are really friendly and very nice but if you walk round in hot pants and dripping in jewellery you could get yourself in trouble so just be sensible! It is a very casual place and you would feel out of place dressed up, linnen trousers and a tshirt is perfect, day or night! We only stayed for 3 nights but saw a lot! We did a trip to the atlas mountains which was organised by the riad which was definitely worth a visit, we went in to a typical morrocan house which is unbelievable to think that humans actually live there, its like going back in time hundreds of years!! Overall i would reccomend Marrakech to anyone but go with an open mind and you won´t go far wrong! The riad Charlott is a perfect place to stay and is as good as any 5* hotel i have stayed in around the world, the madina is definitely the best location and the riad charlott is in the heart of it!"

Wonderful and magic
"We had heard about the Charlott' Riad from French friends, who told us that the place was unique and that we had to stop there. We spent three days in that magical Riad, where every thing is so relaxing and calm. I would really advice you to go there ! All the team is really welcoming and will make it all for you to spend a great time !"
