"We stayed in the Riad for two nights and had a very good time. THe host Michelle was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The driver was on time as well to pick us from the airport. On arrival we were given mint tea and cookies. Breakfast was ok, pancakes, cakes, and bread and fresh orange juice. Could have been better. The decor in the villa is lovely. Sit outside by the plunge pool. Have to have a hammam done (massage). They had facilities for manicure and pedicure as well which I had done. Even booking restaurants, Michelle helped us. On the last day she made us packed lunch as we were going to Agadir by coach.

We had a very wonderful experience and would go again."

"Booked this through Spendia and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Great location in the medina, and taxis are very cheap anyway (though terrifying to ride in!) The level of service was fantastic - waited on constantly, and felt very personal. The pool was a lovely feature of the riad, and all the communal areas and our bedroom were decorated beautifully and authentically. The peacefulness inside the riad was a wonderful contrast to the bustle of Marrakech - we were never woken or disturbed by any noise. Helpful to speak some French but not essential. Also really nice that wine was available from the riad, as alcohol is generally not widely available. Perfect for a chilled out break and a base from which to visit the sites of this city. Highly recommend it."

"The Riad Alma is located at the end of a narrow alley in the Kasbah area of the Medina or old town of Marrakech. On arrival at the airport we were met by the taxi driver arranged for us by the Riad. After a short taxi ride, we were at the Riad and were greeted by Michelline who runs the Riad. She kindly provided a free upgrade from the Room 1 to Room 2 (we had booked Room 1 but Room 2 was much bigger and had access to a shared terrace). The Riad Staff brought some much appreciated mint tea and morrocan pastries for us to enjoy on the terrace. In the evening Michelline kindly reserved restaurants for our dinner and helpfully provided a map to guide us on our walk through the medina. Breakfast is delighful with Morrocan bread, crepes, fresh fruit juice and yogurt plus tea or coffee. A very pleasant and happy stay. Do try the massage from Asma."

"I have just returned from a five night break in Marrakech, staying at the fantastic Riad Alma. I rate this Riad very highly as the whole experience from start to finish was first rate. Booking was simple and efficient. The Riad organised transport to and from the airport, helping take the strain out of finding the Riad.
The riad is situated in the Kasbah area, a vibrant and historically rich loaction.
The riad is beautiful and very very clean with great use of space, stunning design with a mix of deco and authentic decoration. I was in room 7 which was huge and benfited from a good size bathroom and outside seating area. The riad also had a number of salons and outstide seating areas to chill out in. In the cool evenings fires were lit in the down stairs salons. Very relaxing.
The riad also benefits from a small plunge pool, spa and roof terrace.
What made my visit so blissfull was the outstanding service from all the team at the riad. Nothing was too much trouble, from providing lashings of mint tea, to cooking a couple of very good meals of cous cous and tangine.
An excellent riad."

"Riad Alma is a wonderful Riad with beautiful decor and wonderful service from both Pierre the owner and the rest of the staff.

We spent a week relaxing on the roof terrace and we only have positive comments with regards to the riad. Located about ten minutes walk south of the main square, it is an interesting walk but one where you really get to see the real Marrakech deep in the Medina."

The Riad itself is so beautifully decorated....... very peaceful and relaxing ..just what you need after a day in the city !

Pierre, the Owner, could not have been more helpful to us ....especially when we lost our suitcase at ...yes Heathrow !

Hameed is always there attending to any needs ..... he was excellent also !
It was just a "home from home" and we appreciated that very much.

"We stayed for 3 days in the Riad Alma - the owner Pierre was very friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants etc. My partner was not very well here and he drove us to see a doctor also! (Thanks you)
It felt like being in our own house when we stayed - which I really liked - very relaxing away from the busy streets of marrakesch.
It even has a plung pool - which was very cold - but great after a day at the hot busy markets!
I would reccommend the Riad to anyone."

"great riad and nicely decorated. Small pool with a few sunbeds. Disappointed unable to use the roof terrace and feel should have been advised of this when booking. Comfortable room with upstairs bathroom (no shower). Helpful and friendly owner. Only downside for us was the location, due to the distance from the square (a good 30 min walk each way) and no local restaurants nearby for the evenings."

A beautiful riad hidden in the middle of Marrakech

"I stayed in Riad Alma with 4 of my friends over the May bank holiday this year. We had a fantastic time. The riad is modern and beautifully decorated. Two of the rooms had a bathroom on a mezzanine level. It is a real haven away from the hussle and bussle of Kasbah (about 15 mins walk from the main square). The riad has a (slightly incomplete) roof terrace - a lovely place for an early evening drink until the sun goes down. The staff were really helpful and were happy to book restaurants/taxis/day tours for us). Marrakech itself is a wonderful place. It gets very hot during the day but the temperature soon plummets when the sun goes down. For girls on their own in can feel slightly intimidating..the best thing to do is to keep covered up and ignore the comments made by the local men."

Our first experience of Morocco

"It was our first trip to Morocco and both of us had been warned that you are bothered by the locals all the time wanting you to buy something from their shop and some said that it ruined their holiday. We weren't too put off by this as we didn't have any money to spend anyway and so couldn't be persuaded. We booked a room at the Riad Alma which we now know is situated at the top of the Kasbar. The Riad was fantastic - a bit of a treat and more expensive than we would normally choose but it was worth every penny and we would wholeheartedly recommend it. Marakesh is a very busy, hustling, bustling city. Everywhere you look people are going somewhere either by car, moped, bike or on foot. Crossing the road is no mean feat, look everywhere, even if you think it is one way! Everyone was very friendly, we weren't bothered much at all but then we were dressed down and appropriately (long sleeves for the ladies). We walked everywhere and got lost regularly but that meant that we got to see bits of the city that most tourists don't bother with. You need to stop and take shelter in a cafe every so often as the pace of the place is so fast you need a bit of time out and that is why the Riad was so fantastic. Although it was in the middle of it all it was a quiet haven to chill out at the end of the day.
We ate in a number of different places in the new town and in the Riad and the food was excellent. We went at the begining of Februray and had the most amazing weather (we left Gatwick in the snow) around 20-25 degrees.
We did go to the square one night but weren't tempted to eat - next time we would be a bit more couragous. We never tired of just walking and people watching - it was a real experience."
