Fantastic stay for our anniversary!

"For our one year anniversary we chose to visit Morocco and stay in this beautiful place. We were treated to a wonderful stay with excellent food, beautiful surroundings, and a fantastic staff who were so friendly and engaging. The very friendly owners truly make you feel at home and the staff that they hired locally really work hard to ensure you have a great holiday. The location couldn't be more perfect --walk out of the riad & the medina is at your doorstep then return to the gardened courtyard and enjoy dinner under the citrus trees. Listening to the evening call to prayer while having cocktails on the rooftop was fantastic. The food was delicious, the massage sublime, and the relaxing atmosphere just what we needed for a perfect anniversary!"

"The Palais Amani is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in - a beautifully restored riad set in the heart of the Medina. The atmosphere was so tranquil - such a contrast to the hurly-burly of the Medina. Our welcome was very friendly, the suites were quietly luxurious and the restaurant served delicious Moroccan cuisine."

A 10+ experience!

"In selecting Palais Amani as our choice to stay in Fes, we thought we were taking a chance. The Tripadvisor reviews sounded too good. After staying there, we heartily join the chorus of praise. This is what a luxury Riad experience should be! Once the doors open to this newly restored palace, our leisure experience in Fes was assured. Inside its walls, everything is perfect: the rooms with extra soft cotton bedding, the courtyard with birds chirping around orange trees where an excellent variety of meals are available and afternoon tea is served, the 3rd story terrace where huge and delicious breakfasts are served. Ownership is Moroccan French with the utmost in personal attention. And outside the front door, turn right and step right into the heart of the Medina. Turn left and in a minute or two, you're outside the Medina walls in an area frequented by taxis. Perfect!!"

Fabulous and unique boutique luxury hotel

"Palais Amani is one of the most beautiful and inviting boutique hotels I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. It’s a 14th century palace that was restored with its original mosaics. But the best part of our stay was our time with one of the owners, Abdel. By the end of our stay, we felt like we were staying in a good friend’s home versus a hotel. The service is impeccable—the staff anticipates your every need. The rooms are gorgeously decorated and have all of the modern amenities of a luxury hotel in Manhattan or London. My boyfriend and I went in August and it was excruciatingly hot, since the palace doesn’t have a pool, they offer to arrange a trip to another riad to swim or let you wade in the fountain. Fes’ medina is very confusing, so the palace arranged guides for us. We didn’t have the greatest experience with guides in Marrakech because most guides just want to guide you to shops for commissions. But the guides the Palais recommends have been tested by the owners’ friends to ensure they focus on the monuments. Since the medina was very confusing for us, we also opted to eat at the hotel most of the time. This got a little pricey, but the food was very good and the staff sets up very romantic tables around the fountain in the garden with candlelit lanterns. While we were eating lunch one day, Abdel had a shop drop off tea pots to consider. In Marrakech, I thought I had gotten such a good deal on a couple little teapots and low and behold they were painted with lead inside and thus not fit for actual tea making. By the end of the trip, I really wanted to go home with a beautiful teapot I could use. To be honest, I was quite bewildered as to what the true value of the items were in the souks and shops and whether I was receiving quality equal to what was paid. If it wasn’t for the Abdel, I would never have gotten such a lovely (and functional!) souvenir. My boyfriend and I just can’t say enough wonderful things about this place and we wish every hotel had this level of service and such a personalized touch."

A true jewel on the edge of the souks and medina

"Most beautiful restored palace/riad on the edge of the ancient medina and a stones throw from the souks and historical sights and museums. If you want to get a real sense of this wonderful historic city, then Palais Amani is the place to stay! It felt like a magical oasis in a desert, beautiful, tranquil, and most comfortable with all you could wish for. The food is exquisite, the staff are memorably kind and helpful, and the accommodation is first class. We could not have wished for more! Turn left from the front door and you are at the beginning of the souks. TIPS : Eat at hole in the wall cafes in the Medina at your own risk. Bargain hard at the souks - often you can get what you want for no more than 40-45% of the initial asking price. Stick at that and walk away - they will accept."

"Palais Amani is designed carefully to ensure that the views are amazing from every angle. It left us with a sense of relaxation whilst we contemplated the congruence between the artwork, design, rooms, layout, space, meals, service and ambience. All members of our party, young and old felt that despite its chic appearance. staff were happy to accommodate children paddling in the pool. Staff seem genuinely happy to be at work, despite the heat wave and Ramadan. The staff were subtly attentive which reflected the culture of the people in Fes, who seem to be very perceptive, loyal and caring towards each other. Laurent, the Manager joined us for drinks and gave us his undivided attention for several hours despite his many duties. . Laurent offered to sit with our children whilst I indulged in a massage. Laurent appears passionate about ensuring his guests needs are met in a very personal manner. He was intuitive to our needs and related well to guests from all over the world and different classes. The meals were tasty yet not too heavy. A wide selection of wines were available from the menu. The rooms provided a perfect solace from the intense heat and buzzing medina life. The bedrooms were tastefully designed. My 10 year old daughter commented on her experience and said that it was the best holiday she had ever been to. ‘The Palais Amina provided us with a warm welcome from the Fes medina’s which could at times feel chlostraphobic and sometimes challenging to the nose. The staff were kind and helpful. We were allowed to play and venture around the palace. We were given towels after we paddled in the pool. The trees and flowers felt exotic and smelt sweet and made us feel like we were in a palace. The food was really nice and the juice glasses were frosted on the rims. We were topped up with drinks soon after we’d drank. My overall opinion was that I really liked it here and would like to go back. Thank you Palais Amani for making me feel pampered’."

"This tiny jewel of a hotel, tucked away in the streets of the Medina, was full of pleasant surprises. As we stepped through the doors, one leaves behind all the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. Any remnants of stress that journeyed with us to Fez simply evaporated as we entered this haven of peace. The Riad itself is stunning..... from the beautifully maintained gardens to the architecture and decor, so representative of Fez and so very carefully restored and preserved. The spirituality that Fez is renowned for is very palpable within the Palais Amani The rooms were wonderful. the perfect blend of culture and design is attained is the hotel. Each room has its own personality with slightly different colours, textiles, artefacts/ artwork. mixed in with the modernity of fantastic showers , amazingly comfortable beds and even ipods and speakers available for loan so that we could really chill! The hotel is so relaxing and the rooms so comfortable that it is easy to lose track of time. Great attention to detail was given not just at the beginning but throughout the duration of our stay.. often something that is neglected even in the most expensive of hotels. What really holds it all together is the service and personnel. Nothing is too much... often going above and beyond their duties to help us or make our stay that bit more special. They were like one big multilingual family. Having travelled alot and stayed in all sorts of hotels, my stay in Palais Amani definitely constitutes one of the most special. We look forward to repeating the Palais Amani experience."
