staying at Riad Malaika is a wonderful experience and people
"Riad Malaika was a fantastic place to stay for my girlfriend and me. The riad and the rooms are beautiful, the rooftop terrace and lobby areas are both very comfortable and relaxing. All of the staff are very nice, gracious, and helpful. We arrived late in the night and were cooked a delicious meal; were taken around the souks to help us find good shops and deals without too much difficulty; and whatever question or need we had was answered or met more completely than we could have hoped for. The rooms are very beautiful and comfortable. We didn't stay in the largest, but they were great."

The perfect place to stay!
"Riad Malaïka is a well located, lovely and very welcoming Riad in the heart of Essaouira. You can clearly see and feel that the owners, Sylvie and Piermark, have have a real flair for architecture and design - they went to lots of work to create a piece of paradise within the Medina of Essaouira. The attention to detail is stunning - starting with the decor of the rooms and ending with the usage of original ancient door lockers. In my opinion it represents the perfect combination of traditional Moroccan decor with stylish, modern interior design.
Breakfast is tasty and both Sylvie and Piermark as well as their staff are all very helpful and kind. Service is exceptional - after our first night in the "Tamayyourt" Double Room (room No. 2) we discovered that the cold water-tap wasn't working. This wasn't too much of an inconvenience for us but after telling Sylvie, she immediately insisted on moving us into the bigger room No. 5 (at the same rate) ;) It is right opposite the other room and it would have been no problem at all to move our suitcases - but again she insisted that we go out and enjoy Essaouira while they would move everything.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can only recommend Riad Malaïka!"

Lovely riad in a good location
"My wife and i stayed at riad Malaika for 2 nights and it was great. The guys here even sent someone to meet us from the bus station and help with our luggage. Our room was beautiful, very clean and tidy with water provided. We can't thank all the staff enough for their attentiveness and friendly service. everyone was friendly and helpful and the food (only had breakfast) was lovely. The only thing to bear in mind hear is to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. As with all riads they have an open courtyard/roof space and it can be a little noisy which can echo around the whole building. Not a complaint just an observation for future travellers."

SENSATIONAL!!! You can stop looking, this is the one!!
"Unfortunately due to our online booking arriving seconds after a phone booking, we missed out on a room to begin with... However, Piermark and Sylvie booked us into another Riad, and were waiting for us at the bus terminal at 10.30pm (even though we were nearly two hours late). After taking us back to Riad Malaika for tea, we were escorted to our alternate accommodation and invited to return to Malaika the following night for dinner. In fact we were welcome to use their Riad for anything we wanted. We needed WIFI, so they graciously let us come and use this anytime we wanted, even whilst staying at the other Riad.
Given that we had been extremely ill for a few days prior, we took up the invite for dinner, and Sylvie cooked us up a rejuvenating meal tailored to our weakened stomachs. Exactly what we needed and extremely delicious. They were so in tune with what we needed, and really looked after us. We felt like we were home being looked after by our mums.
Piermark realised that a double room would be available next night, so we booked for three nights. The best decision we made.
The accommodation was luxurious and extremely clean, modern but also traditional Morroccon. Stunning!!
Piermark and Sylvie went out of their way to make us feel at home, as far as taking us out shopping to ensure we received the 'best' prices on goods we wanted to purchase. Above and beyond the call of duty. Also, Recommending good restaurants that would suit our stomachs at the time. The whole experience was one that we definitely want to experience again. On our third night we changed rooms, but they ensured the new room was of same quality as the previous. We did not have to move our luggage. They did this for us, whilst we spent a day out in Essaouira. When checking out, we realised that we had been undercharged for meals and drinks purchased. When we alerted Sylvie to this, she still gave us a few drinks for free anyway. I must note, the first meal we had was also on the house. These guys run an amazing ship, and on many occasions ate very late dinners to ensure they were there to look after their guests. They are passionate about their Riad, and more passionate about the people who stay there. Our needs were always more important than their own. You MUST stay here if you get the chance. But given the amazing hospitality, and reputation they are developing, I suggest you book really really early, because you CANNOT miss out on staying here. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Essaouira. And will definitely return knowing we can stay in an establishment like this.
Truly beautiful people.
Goodluck and Enjoy!!
Thankyou Piermark and Sylvie. Nick and Kerry X X"

Lovely riad - wonderful service
"The riad is very charming and has been recently renovated by a young French couple, Sylvie and Piermark. It has only been open for 3 months. Sylvie actually came to meet us off the bus (from Marrakech), and gave us tips, recommendations and was very helpful. The riad is a labour of love and it is clear that the owners are very keen to please and offer assistance whenever possible. Our room was the suite at the very top of the hotel and had only just been completed before we arrived. I must point out that my husband left his rucksack in a restaurant on our last night there. Sylvie promised she would get it to us in Marrakech (we were leaving Morocco 2 days later) and, true to her word, she did. We really were amazed to see such helpful and kind service and would thoroughly recommend this riad."

Great well designed, brand new Riad
"Stayed her for a very short trip to Essauoira in April. The decor is a very nice mix of Moroccan and contemporary. There was a fire lighting in the lounge when I arrived and was offered oranges with cinnamon and mint tea. All very pleasant."

Amazing hospitality in a beautiful riad!
"My husband and I spent one night at this riad during a short trip to Marrakech a few days ago. As it was my husband's birthday, I wanted to take him to Essaouira for a quieter, more romantic Morrocan experience and chose Riad Malaika as the accommodation for the occasion. Well .. we were not at all disappointed. The riad has been beautifully restored and there are so many minute details that give it a warmth and a truly relaxing ambience; perfumed soaps in the bathroom, soft lighting and candles in the main entrance and lounge areas - all so well thought out and tasteful. To make us feel even more welcomed, we were offered a plate of spiced oranges on arrival and water was provided in our rooms free of charge. But the piece de resistance was when the owners, knowing that it was my husband's birthday, very generously offered us complimentary champagne!!!!!!! We were lost for words, but extremely grateful to Piermark and Sylvie for making our stay at their riad so memorable.
And last but not least, the staff at the hotel are lovely - very helpful and welcoming and the breakfast of local breads and fresh fruit was truly delightful. We would not hesitate to recommend this riad to anyone thinking of spending some time in Essaouira - great people, great accommodation and excellent value for money."

Paradise within Paradise
"I spent 3 days in Essaouira staying at Riad Malaika. The Riad is tastefully decorated in traditional Moroccan style. I was treated like a queen and felt very at home in my palace! All the little details were in abundance to make my stay perfect and peaceful.
I absolutely recommend this Riad to anyone wishing to stay in Essaouira.
Thank you Sylvie and Alim. You are wonderful hosts."
