Best Hotel in Essaouira
"I travel once or twice a year to Essaouira,I've stayed in most of the hotels and for once I had a great stay. I'm alergic, and miraculously I didn't sneeze once. It's very clean, and quiet. The funiture is stylish, it give a unique feeling to the place.
The staff is very friendly and truely devoted to make you spend a great time with them. The restaurand located on the first floor has a good cook, and a nice DJ spining lounge music.
So if your looking to have a magic time with your loved one, that's where you need to be."

"After many years of wanting to visit Morocco, we were finally able to find the time and make the trip. And what a trip it was! From the minute we arrived at this lovely Riad, we were completely surprised by its charm, beauty, and uniqueness. The ambience and décor of this place gave us a peaceful and serene feeling. We started each day with a delicious breakfast on the roof top and were amazed by the breathtaking sea view. It was exactly what we were wishing for. The hammam, which we were really excited about trying, did not disappoint. It was soothing and relaxing and unlike any other spa that we had ever visited. The entire staff at this Riad was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. They did everything possible at all times to really make us feel at home. It is refreshing to stay at a place like this and experience such genuine warmth. I guess it is true what they say about Moroccan hospitality! I would definitely recommend this place to any one who is planning a trip to this wonderful county."

Beautifull Stay Charming Staff Top Food The Best In Town
"I was in Marrakech for 5 days where I stayed at the riads Ambre Lotus . The service was excellent and the staff is very heIpfull I booked from the riad 3 days to ESSAOUIRA which is a very quite city by the ocean in MOROCCO. the riads O MARINE which belong to the LOTUS GROUP was just what i was looking for excellent restaurant in the first floor very classy rooms and a beautifull terrase where you get a perfect breakfast in the morning.
the weather was nice except the wind but very sunny.
This RIAD is in the center of the medina and has a very clean and not expensive SPA compare to the other RIADS in ESSOUIRA and MARRAKECH.
I will Definitely go back there."

"This hotel looks beautiful at first glance but in reality is starting to get a bit tired. We were disappointed as we have been to Essaouira fairly frequently and had taken a tour of the hotel to check it out.
If you want traditional Moroccan you are going to the wrong hotel. They have tried for a luxurious and sophisticated 5 star look that quite frankly you can have just about any where in the world. The rooms are comfortable with flat screen TV and DVD etc and a nice touch of a DVD library downstairs. The bathrooms at first glance look great. In reality 2 of our 4 lights didn't work, the holes in the marble around the taps were gaping wounds and there was limited or no hot water more than half the time we wanted it. You have to remember where you are but for the prices they charge everything should be perfect.
The breakfast on the terrace was lovely if you can deal with the wind. We were there to kite-surf so were happy to see the wind but it can blow the food right off the table. We did have dinner in the restaurant downstairs after reading the various positive reviews. The food is good. As with the rest of the hotel the decor was lovely but the lighting was a disaster.
A number of reviews have complained about the music. We did not experience this but had other acoustic challenges. Because the rooms are all built around a central internal but covered courtyard every noise reverberates around the inside of the hotel. We were woken up at 6.15 by someone putting down a bucket outside our room on the stairs. The friends with us were woken by the rustling of plastic bags as the cleaning staff started to prepare to do their job at 7.30. We advised reception who made sure that the following day - Sunday, the cleaning only began at 8am!!
The staff were helpful but one did not get the sense that much of what you were requesting was likely to happen. Our missing light bulbs, hot water nightmare etc were dealt with courteously but we left with the lights still not working and the hot water still not flowing.
All in all I would not recommend this hotel and will try hard not to have to stay there again ourselves. It is fine as a last resort but certainly not good value for money. There are much nicer places to stay which may be the same price ie expensive but have so much more charm."

"O Marine is a fresh gem in the heart of Essaouira.
I particularly loved the roof top terrace where we had our breakfast and morning coffee, before heading off to explore the town. Perfect start to any day.
The restaurant was a nice surprise as well, with a very charming feel, and great food.
Also, I loved the decor throughout the riad.
Great place for a getaway."

Very poor choice
"I also had a very poor stay at this Riad. The music coming from the usually empty nightclub DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH is absurd. The food in the restaurant was acutally pretty good as noted in another review. The staff quite frankly didn't seem to care whether we were happy or not. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone."

"I have stayed at Riad Lotus and was looking forward to my stay in the Omni and in no way did it disappoint. The staff were on point and friendly without being too in your face. The decor was fantastic and the room was perfect for my little romantic get away with my boyfriend. Anyone wanting to explore Marrakech must definately stay at the Omin."

"We stayed at O Marine after staying in the Riad Ambre and before the Riad Perle. The ambience and decor were good as in the other Lotus Riads. The service was definitely down a notch from the Marrakech riads, but we didn't find it rude. The restaurant was really good fun and the food was a nice break from couscous. We stayed on the top floor and found it to be the most quiet of the riads. Value for money is questionable, but I guess one has to pay for the decor and the ambience. It is a bit of a walk from the beach, so if you are going purely for the beach, you are probably better off staying at a hotel on the beach with a pool - as the Atlantic is a bit chilly for swimming."

Terrible hotel with rude rip off service and a nightclub that blares music
"At first glance the hotel seemed hip and quaint. But don't let it fool you- The rooms are small and not terribly well lit, the linens were dirty upon our arrival (there was blood on the sheets from the previous guest) and left unchanged even though it was mentioned to the front desk.
The bath room was also small and because the shower handle did not have a hook to be hung on during showers we were left trying wash with one hand and hold the shower handle with the other in a tiny cramped bathtub.
And finally, the worst part of the hotel is the restaurant downstairs which has a DJ playing nightly from 9pm to 1am- the music played reverberated throughout the room and was played regardless of whether the restaurant was open or not (on one occasion we had dinner in the restaurant when it was closing (around 10pm) but the music was left blaring until 1am while the employees cleaned up.
When we asked the manager about this he simply said, "i'll check on it" and nothing was changed. The hotel charged us nearly 300 euros (2800 dirham) for roundtrip transfers to and from Marrakesh with is more than double the going rate (which we didn't find out until we had already taken one leg of the transfer)
The hotel also had the audacity to send an old 1980s minibus to pick us up from the airport. . .the van was unable to exceed 70 kilometers per hour and a 2.5 hourtrip took well over three hours. The vehicle was rattling so hard that half way to the hotel the driver had to stop and make sure we hadn't gotten a flat tire.
All in all this was a terrible experience and I would never stay at the hotel or any of it's affiliates ever again. The hotel staff obviously don't care for the well being of the guests and the manager is a smarmy guy that slinks around saying 'yes' while only looking for ways to rip you off."
