the good, the bad and the ugly
"We stayed at the Kenzi Tower, Cassablanca for three nights, in the low season when hotel was pretty empty. Based on the reviews on trip advisor we were hoping for a pleasant stay. From the outside, the building looked nice and the location was really good. Lobby and lobby bar were nicely decorated. The room we had on the 11th floor was spacious and well designed with all the amenities one would expect in a 5 star hotel. The television had a wealth of channels and free movies that we have yet to come across again in Morocco.
However, for some reason the room was only made-up for one (even though youâve paid extra for the second person), with one robe and one towel â although this seems to be common during our stay in Moroccoâ¦ a few phone calls later, and a couple of hours later this was fixed.
Now for a few of our complaintsâ¦ as well-travelled and frequent hotel visitors, to say Kenzi Tower fell short of our expectations is an understatement. The hotel had the appearance and potential to be a 5 star hotel, but we felt the staff let the establishment down considerably. First of all we were asked to pay again at Check-In, even though we paid on Hotel.com â which required me to call Hotel.com to chase Kenzi Towers and refund the money. Secondly upon arrival our room was not ready at 4pm, even though check-in is the usual, 2pm â so we waited a little while before being told we could have another room on a different floor. We arrived in the room and realized the shower was broken (Wouldnât turn to hot) so had to wait for Maintenance to fix it which required a few phone calls. Itâs worth noting that Reception didnât put us through to the right extension, they just told us to call a different number where the recipient of my complaint didnât speak English. Next we would find that every time we returned to our room,the key would not work, the manager blamed us for keeping it near electronic devices when we hadn't... nice :)
We would love to tell you the name of the front desk manager whose attitude quite frankly stunk, but no one in this hotel wears name-badges.
The mini-bar was very-expensive, the most expensive mini-bar I have come across. With coffee and tea also costing approximately 4.50 Euro, and no complimentary water, your best bet would be to visit a local street vendor or cafÃ©, literally only 20 metres from the hotel front for these commodities, and for about 50c. But watch out, apparently theyâre on the look-out for food and beverages brought in from the real world :)
We missed our room being serviced when they rang at 9am (hang your âdonât disturbâ sign people) and we called several times throughout the early evening to get it made, and waited in the lobby whilst it was made at about 4.30pm! The following day they made our room more promptly, however they forgot all the towels. We called, they brought one â I fought my girlfriend to the death, it wasnât a pretty sight â but Iâm dry.
Internet cable and access were free, the TV included complimentary internet usage though we never managed to connect. Wi-fi was only available in the lobby.
Gym had a range of cardio equipment and is the place to hit up the hotelâs only free water. The sky bar is good for a drink, but nothing that special in comparison to other sky bars weâve been to, also itâs not an open-air venue.
We tried to extend our stay as I was sick but the price was three times that of the web price we had paid so we decided to move hotel. We negotiated our own Taxi-fares in front of the hotel, as the concierge was unable to secure us a fair fare the one time we used them. You shouldnât pay more than 20-30D for a ride in the center. We paid 50D from the Train Station Casa Voyageurs to the hotel. Perhaps a little pricey but at least itâs a guideline for you :)
This review has a very negative tone and I feel the need to stress that this was the only hotel weâve been where weâve wanted to warn people of our experience. Overall if youâre looking for a big comfy bed with good pillows in a very respectable room, this is for you, but donât expect the 5 star treatment, itâs not there."

5 star quality
"Stayed here in Nov 2009. I enjoyed everything about the stay except the price but hey it is a 5 star. The lobby, rooms, restaurant and common areas all top notch. Our room was large, well appointed and had a nice city view. The en suite bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous and really make this place 5 star quality. The bathroom shower area is encased in glass with ceiling mounted showerhead as well as a handheld. The shower floor was a non slip tiled surface that blended with the rest of the bathroom floor. No lip or molding to trip over. the vanity/sink area modern and beautiful. The rooms are well laid out with wall mounted flat screen opposite beds, high quality carpet, plenty of storage space and very quite. The bed quality is also worth mentioning.
Included in the price of stay is an elaborate buffet breakfast with a large array of food and drink. I believe the hotel also has a nice gym and pool area but I didn't see for myself.
The only issue that I had while here was the central air. I found it to be it anemic and I was unable to adjust it to make the room cooler.
This is a very nice place but probably better suited for business travelers as it is a little far from the few touristy areas Casa has to offer."

"A fabulous and helpful staff that will do anything to please you. little glitch here and there but guess what??? nobody is perfect and the bottom line is: This is the place to be if you are in for business and want to enjoy a perfect location with a cosy, trendy, hot spot. This hotel got it all for Casablanca."

A good choice if you must stay in Casablanca
"Iâd suggest that you not waste precious vacation time in Casablanca as there is very little of interest in this city. But if you have to spend an evening or two here, this is a fine hotel. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Unfortunately the hallways smelled of cigarettes. The staff is friendly but slow. A big plus is the top floor restaurant and bar with a magnificent 360Â° view of the city. Although the restaurant was empty (we went for lunch, maybe itâs busier in the evenings) and expensive, the food was delicious and the service here was exemplary."

"Did not stay at the hotel, but enjoyed drinks at the Skybar and dinner at the restaurant. I found the food and service above average. The restaurant manager, Mr. Ali Elamrani, was very helpful and solicitous. A real gentleman! His staff was cordial and were attentive to my every need. The view of the city was magnificent, the decor beautiful, the food and beverages excellent. This is truly a place to go when you are in Casablanca."

Stylish hotel, good service
"The hotel rooms are quite nice - great fixtures in the bathrooms if you like style (rain shower, etc.). The service is also attentive (maybe they've improved since the last reviews - the hotel is new!). The only annoying thing was no internet in the rooms on the TV (like they said - it will be done soon), so if you didn't bring a laptop there is nowhere to check internet. Indoor pool is nice, as is the spa. Overall a very solid 5 star hotel with minor issues that can be overlooked."

Good location, bad service
"Dont go there, it is supposed to be a 5 stars hotel but the services is so bad. The frontdesk did not stop calling us every 5 minutes to ask questions. Because the hotel is new, it seems the employee dont know how to deal with people. The rooms are clean and the location is perfect, but for the price go somewhere else. The service is so bad!!!!!!!!!!"

"this hotel is probably the WORST "5 star hotel" ive ever been to. Ok, so the rooms are nice and clean, but other than that it scores below 0!! unfriendly staff, rude manager, this hotel is like a prostitue that is only after your money and wants you out before you are even in! they take NO pride in anything they do, every one wants a bribe for doing nothing...dare i go on?? AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!"

Easy and Comfortable
"This hotel has only been open one month and they are still finding their way, but it was really a great place. Especially for business travellers.
Good points - very friendly staff, very clean rooms, modern, great bar on top floor, panoramic views over all casablanca, nice decor, fantastic internet connection (not wifi though), close to business areas and restaurants and shopping.
Bad points - lifts very slow to arrive, car service to airport badly organised, clumsy security check at entrance, beer too expensive."
