Elephant Bedroom Camp
6 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
I was transported to a 1940's movie, it's a beautiful place!!
"Our trip was booked thru Bellafric Expeditions. We were in Kenya to attend our friend's wedding and travel thru the country. We had no idea how beautiful the Elephant Bedroom would be. We thank Bellafric for this wonderful choice of places. The moment we stepped onto the grounds I was transported to the 1940's and could see William Holden or Charleton Heston on the riverbank.. I guess I am giving away my age. The Camp is absolutely lovely. The staff is most excellent, very courteous and friendly, always a kind word and quick smile. Be sure to ask a ranger to play the flute; at least one ranger carries a flute.
You can view the elephants from your tent porch while relaxing or from the dining area while socializing with friends and guests.
One elephant caused a little commotion near the dining tent one evening and we were advised not to worry it is a common occurence. Our stay was much too short, only a few days. The next time I travel to Africa, this Camp is a definitely part of the intinerary."

Kenya's 'Best Kept Secret'!
"We were booked at this Camp by Bellafric for our December 2008 Honeymoon stay. My wife is Kenyan so we have seen the best that Kenya had to offer, we thought! This river bank Camp, the accommodations, the staff the ambience are all absolutely impeccable! The Elephant's Bedroom is the jewel of Samburu and the most romantic of Kenya's National Park sites. Manager Peter Kangara and his staff ensure that visitors and the residents (elephants) enjoy each others company.
The camp tents are spacious, luxurious yet rustic. Game drive are productive from this camp or you can take cocktails on your patio or breakfast at the riverbank and see all the elephants you want."

Safari accommodation at its best!!
"This is probably one of the best places I have ever been too. The camp is a true bush experience without compromising on any of the luxuries. The tents are enormous, the food excellent and the service is exceptional. There was an elephant in camp every night and during the day too."

Best we found
"Of the 6 places we stayed in Kenya this was our favorite. This tented camp is owned by the same people who own Tipilikwani and Mbweha Camps, so it is similar in concept. This one's a bit more rustic, as the tents did not have any hard walls and the lounge/dining area is more in the open. However the tents featured the same luxury details as the other two--beautiful decorating, robes, slippers, turndown service, etc. Ample electricity and hot water.
This camp is located in the Samburu reserve and is aptly named. There was an elephant in camp the evening of our arrival. One morning there were 17 elephants visible outside our friends' tent. That same morning there were lots of elephant tracks all over the camp. The camp is patrolled in an attempt to keep the elephants at bay.
Food was very good and the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly."

"Spent 2 nights at this deluxe Lodge in the Samburu Game Reserve in Kenya....Loved the luxury tents, the great staff there, and the wonderful safari with teeming wildlife. The lodge is situated at river's bank, which allows you to see the wildlife coming to drink right in front of your tent....would recommend the Camp anytime!"
