I am a often sceptical about reviews but believe me this place is PERFECT
"Asha cottages is an amazing place to go on holiday. We went for 4 days and had the blue room overlooking the ocean. The room was amazing, the service was amazing, and the location was out of this world. The whole place is so tastefully finished and they have lots of activities to keep someone who gets bored very easily occupied - pool, board games, library, watersports on the door step etc.... When we went there was only one other couple (only 5 rooms all in all) and we had all the facilities to ourself. If you are going to Mombassa you should go as this place really is top notch. By far the best place I have ever visited. I dont often write on these sites, but i feel compelled to by Asha cottages."

Indian Ocean Paradise!
"John and Dominique are excellent hosts and their welcome is sincere and heartwarming. This hotel is as far from the saving sunbeds experience as you could imagine! However dont get the idea that it is stiff and starchy - it definately is not! With only 5 bedrooms at the resort, everyone has a lounger and umpteen locations whether in the shade or the sun to choose from. At times we were the only ones at the hotel, and with 15 staff in attendance we were made to feel like royalty. At the same time John and Dominique seem to have perfected the knack of making you feel like family. Stanley, Willie and Lawrence could not have been more attentative. Stanleys Bloody Marys are reknowed and as I am a true connoisseur of the Bloody Mary I can safely say he makes the best in the world! I have quite strict medical dietary requirements and on several occasions special ingredients were obtained to make sure my meal was the same standard as other diners. I was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble and i could certainly recommend Asha Cottages for anyone with a similar problem. You can even chose your personal dining location every night - around the pool / - in the garden /- near the beach. The bedroom decor is luxurious, with large four poster beds and the bathrooms are large with a shower to die for. The public areas are decorated in Swahili style and totally in keeping with the area. The whole resort was kept spotlessly clean (but not clinical). We would not hesitate to recommend Asha Cottages to anyone who is looking for relaxation, and some quality time with their loved one. Thankyou to John and Dominique and their team for making our holiday so memorable."

"We spent one week in this wonderful place and would definitily reommend it to anyone who wants to be in paradise: the location is stunning, at one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen (without the beach boys, it would reach perfection), nothing to do with the beaches north of Mombasa. Renata, who had taken over the place during the absence of the owners, did a great job: always present fot advise and to ensure that everxthing went well. And finally, the food was amazing: nice and variable light snacks for lunch, to be taken on the terrasse with a vieuw over a perfectly turqoise indian ocean, or in tne garden, were you can encounter with monkeys in a verx peaceful atmosphere, and especially verx good dinner, to choose between a varity of fresh ingredients, changing every day. Dinner can be taken in the garden or at candle-lit table near the pool. we really had a wonderful time and would recommend Asha Cottages to anyone who likes quite places with excellent food, a impeccable service and a truly human contact with all the staff. Thanks for this wonderful week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A true earthly paradise!
"Our staying at Asha Cottage was by far the best and most relaxing and pleasant holiday we have ever had! Everything was perfect: - Renata's warm welcome making us feel immediately "at home" and her constant attention to even the very smallest detail. - the wonderful location. - the exquisite food. Our compliments to Omari and Veronica for that! - our airy and clean big rooms. - The staff's attention and professionallity. The two waiters, Willy and Stanley, taking care of the service at all our meals, making them simply perfect. - The complete absence of any disturbing noise, or loud music as it normally happens in most vacation villages. - Everline's relaxing and regenerating hands under her skill massages. - The comfort of the common areas (the pool, the Lodge, the Snooker Room with its "cosy corner" and library, the garden). Even before leaving we were already planning a new staying, so as to break up our northern Italy freezing winter. Thanks everybody! To John and Dominique whom we had not the chance to meet, as they were abroad at the time of our staying, our most sincere compliments on that corners of parafise they have been able to create and above all on their supporting a few organizations working to help local people and the enviromnment, which means Responsible Tourism."

The most relaxing, fabulous vacation taken in 10 years!
"We came to Asha Cottage in May of 2007 and have to say that it was the most wonderful vacation we've had in a long time! Only now have I found out about Trip Adviser, and decided to share this experience with others. The rooms are quite large and charmingly furnished in African style, the food was excellent, and the beach, which almost feels private, is absolute paradise! There is a beautiful view from the dining area and a lovely pool for those more quiet moments. There is also a fairly new shopping center in walking distance from Asha Cottage for those who wish to take back some interesting African souvenirs. We also managed to fit in a visit to a Safari a couple of hours drive from Diani! Last but not least is the personal hospitality offered by Dominique and John, who made us feel immediately at ease and took care of our every need, while at the same time respecting our privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere and came away relaxed and refreshed with a lovely memory. We plan on returning to Asha Cottage in the fall of 2009. Cechy and Marco"

"John, Dominique were great. Always making sure everything was running as smooth as on ball bearings. Stanley and Lawrence were always there to serve us with anything we might have desired. Asha is absolutely stunning, from the decor to the location. The wine selection is quite good but it is possible to bring your own bottle of wine for a small corkage fee. The Chef definitely knows is business, impossible to point out any flaws in his food. All in all, it is highly recommended to anyone who has standards, no matter how high these might be. Everyone at Asha made our week-end a dream... Thank you all at Asha. Hopefully we will be returning as soon as possible."

Fabulous location and friendly service!
"This was a great place for a relaxing or seaside activity holiday. It is situated right on a glorious sandy beach with its own fresh-water pool. An outrigger canoe with a fisherman-pilot is available to take you to the best snorkeling spots half an hour away. The restaurant serves excellent fresh local food and the bar is in a games room equipped with a snooker table. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms so that mosquito nets are not needed. Nearby there is scuba diving, water sports and a hilltop game reserve â but you might just want to relax by the pool under the coconut trees or in the abundant garden and watch the colobus monkeys, birds and koi carp!"

Indian Ocean Stunner
"We stayed with John/Dominique (owners) in Diani and have never felt such a welcome. The facility, the location and the people/staff are simply wonderful. How many places can you stay where the fisherman takes a small boat out to sea and shows up in an hour with your dinner for the evening? The hosts are fabulous, the setting is stunning and swimming next to the white sand beaches was icing on the cake. The owners also have a huge grasp on Kenya and will guide you in a safe reliable direction and will provide great conversation over a drink by the pool or coffee over the sunrise. GREAT FIND!"

A undiscovered gem for those who want to get away from it all!
"Asha Cottage is truly amazing - just 5 big rooms, an amazing pool, right on the Indian Ocean, we spent most days reading, eating delicious food and drinking great cocktails (!) and just taking it easy. John and Dominique, the owners, are great hosts and are at hand to organise anything from snorkelling, diving, kite surfing to safaris of course. It's quiet, relaxed and intimate. A real treat!"
