A place of great peace, silence, and beauty.

Reviewed Tue 30th of October 2012

"My wife and I along with a group of 5 other newly met safari friends travelled here as part of an organized safari holiday.
It is such an amazing, remote and peacefull place to be. The rooms and the views are quite simply stunning to say the least.
Staff are very friendly and competent and the food is delicious and well presented. In short anything you ask for or request is no trouble to the staff.
We stayed for two nights but wished it could have been longer. Don't miss the sundowner experience . We also went to the local Masai village for a visit. It was a most humbling and emotional experience and it is NOT to be missed. You will, in my opinion, never see so many happy children in one place.
Early morning and late afternoon views of Kilimanjaro are breathtaking."

a wonderful place to stay!

"This is probably one of the places we liked most. Satao is located 30 mins outside of Amboseli in the middle of nowhere. In the morning we received a lunch box so that we could spent the full day in the park. The lodges are perfect. Notice the sound of silence! From our bed we had a perfect view and could see the giraffes and other animals.
The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We liked the fireplace where we could sit in the evening and share stories with fellow travellers.
If you're lucky you will have a beautiful view at the kilimanjaro at breakfast.
The management arranges a sundowner late in the afternoon, Don't miss it!"
