best yet in sharm
"This was our 5th visit to Sharm,however our first to the Grand Hotel in Sharm
Check in was very relaxed,8 couples disembarked the bus,and all were seated in the reception/lobby bar area,and the usual formalities were completed sitting down at a table with a welcoming drink No queueing at the reception desk We were escorted to our room and the arrival of our suitcases quickly followed and allowed us to start unpacking.
Our room had all the usual facilities apart a telephone ,not that we wanted one to phone home however in an emergency there was no contact with front desk. Your beach towels are already supplied in a compact Red Sea Hotels carry bag, so hunting down the towel kiosk was not necessary Towels were changed daily on request
The standard of finish in the room was not reflective of the overall standard of the hotel, the bathroom shower was a trench the full length of the bathroom and separated from the rest of the facilities with a full length nylon curtain. There was little or no decor finish and indeed some parts were left with the concrete finish still showing. The bathroom was all brown tiles and paintwork and this did not help to make it bright and welcoming
The grounds are enormous, 4/5 swimming pools, the best beach we have come across in all our visits to Sharm and there were deep cushioned sunbeds, each with parasols all over the place. Finding a spot to sunbathe was never a problem. The grounds and public areas were spotless tended to by an army of pleasant helpful people who really wanted to please The restaurants were spacious, spotless and a pleasure to go an eat in For breakfast and lunch we used the Reef buffet restaurant and for dinner there was a huge choice of eating places The Sharm buffet or a choice of 4 a la carte restaurants, an Italian,a Caribbean, the Fusion serving meats and chicken and the Cliff restaurant which served a full seafood menu. The Cliff restaurant was not all inclusive The other 3 were part of the all inclusive package however if you wanted a bottle of wine or certain choices from the menu there was an additional charge, which was clearly marked on the menu. We ate in all 3 of the a la carte restaurants and by having the house wine and a good meal in all 3 places we never paid any extras. As well as the main restaurants you could also have a snack at the Tapas bar , go for paninis, have crepes and ice cream or visit the grill bar, all the food we had was of a good standard and many of the meals were served from the pan to the plate. Fresh fruit was always available and bottled water was replenished in your room daily and again available throughout the day. The animation team were always busy with their daily activities and presenting their nightly shows . Due to the many steps this hotel is not suitable to persons with walking disabilities
Overall the best hotel we have stayed at in Sharm We will probably be back again later on in the year and have already made up our minds that we will be returning the Grand Hotel in Sharm

Beautiful ground, lovely hotel-would definitely recommended
"Stayed for a week in Feb 2009. The hotel wa lovely and nicely spread over beautiful landscaped grounds. Although saying that it wouldn't be to friendly if you limited in mobility.
The many restaurants were all fab, and I would recommend booking them in advance to secure a table for the evening. I thought the beach club made very nice pizza's for lunch.
The onsite reef is excellent, just a few stairs from the beach and your in the clear WARM sea, excellent!
Will definitely be returning."

Great relaxing holiday
"Just got back from a fab week at The Grand Hotel. The weather was good, and we had a good time.
The hotel is very nice. Its big, has 8 pools, 9 restaurant (only one charge), the sunbeds are comfy, garden is good and its an relaxing atmosphere.
Cleanliness: The hotel is very clean, besides the floor in the room (found several long black hairs on the floor, and the veranda seemed "sandy"). The pool grill could also be a bit cleaner. It smelled like beer was spilled on our table.
Service: The service to begin with was very good. When we arrived the guys in front of the hotel brought the suitcases to our room while we where showed our room by another guy. The service was good at the restaurants and we where pleased. But after a couple of days, we noticed that a lot of new people where arriving, and that was when the service turned bad. At "Tapas" we had to wait a long time before we got to order drinks and got the menus. At "The reef restaurant" (a buffet) we almost got finished eating our food before we got our drinks (that happened several times). At "Olive restaurant" we got to order after ten minutes of waiting, we got our appetizers a half hour later, and when we had sat there for an hour and 10 minutes, we still haven't got our soup! (The same happened to the couple next to us) We left the restaurant and left a complain in the reception (We got an apology and some fruit and pastries at our room).
Location: The hotel lays in a quiet area besides the local traffic outside the hotel. The taxis are honking every time they pass someone, but you get used to it. Super market right beside the hotel. A 15 minutes walk from the hotel you get to a go-kart field, and a center called "Il mercato". The center is lovely and is worth a look. A lot of shops, with no pushy salesmen.
Value: We got a great value for our money: a lovely hotel, private beach, lot of pools and many restaurants. I think if we had stayed in an non-all inclusive hotel we had spent a lot more money.
Rooms: We got a room at the second floor with a sea view, the room was nicely furnished but the bathroom could be better. The housekeeper made lovely creations of the towels; flowers, swan and birds with flowers in their mouth.
Food: The food is average. A lot to choose from, but nothing special.
- The staff could be better in English, it seemed like some of them didn't understand sometimes, and they just said "yes".
- Some of the staff were a bit loud. They shouted to each other and talked in their mobile phones.
- Some of the staff was looking quite a loot at the girls, and sometimes it felt like they where talking to my breasts in stead of my face!
- There were a "taxi-man" in front of the hotel that was a little annoying.
- Both of the pool tables was crooked and one of them was placed right by a wall, making it hard to make good shots.
- Some construction work beside the hotel
- A little bit annoying that some of the staff from the restaurants came around by the pool and asked if you wanted to go to a "oriental show" and eat at "The cliff". The same man probably asked us 10 times!

- Lot of restaurants
- Lot of pools
- The "night life" where in the main building in the Terrace bar and at the roof of the building, so if you want a quiet night you didn't hear it from your room.
- Ping pong tables
- Some of the staff where very nice, especially a little guy with a mustache down at the Beach club
- Nice corals and fish to look at in the sea, but a bit wavy
- Water gym for those who like that."

Good value and excellent service
"The hotel is spotless, staff very friendly and there is enough variety of food to mean you don't get bored with the choice. The complex is large so you can pick your spot, depending on whether you have kids, like activities or want peace and quiet. We have never been to an all inclusive resort before and I would thoroughly recommend this for great weather a lovey hotel and friendly staff - the only down side is how rude Russian guests can be to staff, which was a bit embarrssing at times in the restaurants."

5 * luxury!!
"four of us have just spent a wonderful,relaxing week at this hotel .
it was 5 * luxury,we were pampered by the staff while lying at the pool on sumptuous loungers! there was 5 pools,only criticism is they should have at least 1 heated as they were absolutely freezing!! but we believe that is in hand for the future.there were at least 8 restaurants which you could use,even though we were all inclusive they were a la carte & only one where you had to pay a surcharge. The staff were friendly,polite & good looking!!! the rooms were spacious , clean towels everyday & bedlinen changed at least 4 times in the week! This hotel was only opened in May 08 & they are still building but you would never know. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants pampered in relaxing ,beautiful surroundings with wonderful choices of food & great service"

"This hotel is still quite new, and there is a small amount of building still to be done. However, when you are there, you could not even tell that there was work being carried out (it's at either side of the hotel and is blocked off). The hotel itself is large, and kept very clean.
Nothing is too much for the staff here, who were all very helpful, especially around the pools (regular re-stocking of drinks!). The TV in my room broke from an electrical surge and was replaced within the hour. The staff looking after the room even arranged a time when they were to come every day.
My room was a good size, with a large balcony onto which the early morning sun shone. Plenty of storage space, a secure safe, extra pillows, etc - all that you would expect from a 5* hotel.
The restaurants were all fine, and unlike people at other hotels in the area, I was never once ill after eating there. There's a wide range of food styles, including local tastes, and the tasting buffet in particular is very good.
Overall, a great holiday, perfect weather, excellent service and well worth the trip. For the price I paid, this was a superb hotel."

Another great hotel in the Red Sea Hotel group
"My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Grand Hotel Sharm and we were very impressed with the hotel. Its new, opened less than a year ago, and its spotless, staff and management check that you are satisfied with reverything on a daily basis and do all they can to ensure your stay is aperfect. Food is great, choices for every taste, local drinks could be better, but maybe we're too fussy!. Weather was fab but unfortunately that brings out the mosquito's, however the hotel do fumigate every evening but that doesn't kill them off completely, so take plenty repellent etc. The only negative comment we would make is that the gardens are watered in the evening but they use recycled water (waste) and the smell is awful, we recommended that they do this after midnight or change the way they recycle waste to ensure that there is no smell. All in all, it was a great week and even the Russians were berable, our last holiday was marred by them-see my review on Le Meidien, Makadi Bay"

Heaven on Earth
"I stayed for a week with my husband at The Grand Hotel-great food(at least 5 restaurants, including european food),clean, very nice staff, great snorkelling, 5 swimming pools-free transportation twice a day to Naama Bay and back....etc. Just the best. At night- Heaven On Earth."

the best holiday in my life!
"I have returned with my husband and my sun, since almost a month from two weeks in Sharm el Sheikh, but i still day dreamed about. Was amaizing ! Was magnificent !
The Grand Hotel was opened 3 month ago and all was new. The domain of the hotel is huge but the side wings are still in extension. We had 11 restaurants and terraces where can eat all kind of food and dishes (international food), 9 of all inclussive and 2 a la carte - extra charge. One of them is with cookies and sweets, other with mexican, caraibean, italian or egiptyan food, all delicious and exceptional tasty. You can eat and drink here everything, but really, everything you want, no exception, no matter where are you from.
The hotel lobby (wich is astoneshed decorated) have 24 hours front-desk, with willing to help people. The lobby bar is opened 24 hours (after midnight, extra charged), the bar terrace (where you can admire the panorama at a cocktail) have life music and karaoke, the roof terace bar where the animation team performed every night, and roof shishka teracce made our evening unforgettable. The drinks are first class, for lady i tryed their super cocktails with juice from unknown fruits, but very tasty.
We have never experienced such an incredible service before. For example : we found almost daily on the beds swans, elephants, dolphins, crocodilles, etc made from towels, just for fun; on the beach we got several time on the day some little towers wet and cold for refreshment; on the beach many beach-boy help you to get a sun-bed, to put the tower on or bring to you a thousand of drinks, although the distance to beach terrace is just about 2-10 m. All staff is always smilley and helpfull. I have to remark Mahmoud from beach club, who became the best friend for us from Egipt. Also i liked Honey and Marwa.
The beach is hand-made, with sand, a lot of palm trees, sun-beds and sun shade umbrellas. Is amazing how much work have done for this! The acces in the sea is make going down on the stairs and this is on your risk, because the sea is very deep even from the shore. And now is following to tell you what was the most amazing thing at this hotel : have a grandious and long reef, with hundred of species of fish, corals and other marine form-life. Everybody, from 6-86 years made snorkeling and admire all that marine creatures, no matters if they can or can not swim, helped by water mattress, vest-life and other things for safety. We saw even an octopus who changed the colour and the skin texture alike the coral reef. I felt like Jacques-Yves Cousteau dicovering the marine life, like i had been in a huge aquarium . Was something i never dreamed about.
For other people who was afraid to go into the sea, The Grand Hotel had 6 pools, perfect clean, from different size and deep, also with sun-bed and palm-trees. Of course, here exist a children pool, too.
The room was large, with a big balcony, spotless, clean every day, bedclothes, bath and beach towels was changed every day.
In the evening all is lighting by hundred of superb street lamps, like in a fairy tale, even the steps have light. Entire domain is full of palm-tree, bushes with different flowers, all is delight and charm.
When we have to go home, i left to airport in tears. I will come back in a hart bit, if i will have the chance again. BRAVO FOR EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING ! YOU PROVIDED TO US A PERFECT HOLIDAY !

It's a Grand Place !!!
"Just returned from a two week stay. Hotel and grounds are beautiful and spotlessly clean. Staff are amazing and very friendly. We have been several times and the hotel keeps getting better and better. All a La Cart restaurant are excellent with great food and service. The fusion is one of our favorites and the staff work extremely hard to make sure that everything is perfect for you. Must say special thanks to Dee and Sha who do a wonderful job to make sure you feel welcomed and are very approachable if you have a problem. Can't wait to see you all again."

"Myself and husband had a 10 day stay booked through golden ticket / red sea holidays
was welcomed by sha ,,,, guest relations manager who was very helpful the whole stay
a little dated .but spotless were cleaned every day ...fresh towels every day ...
lovely spotless ...plenty of sunbeds ...even at 11am or after lunch could get a bed anywhere ....poolside towels some tatty .so hotel should invest in more .
again fab we ate in all the restaurant all fab ..something for any one to eat .at breakfast ...lunch and tea
entertainment .......ok they are trying ...Alice & Emma lovely girls always talked and made a fuss .
a credit to the hotel...the pool attendants all so helpful your glass never empty ...they help with beds ..towels thy couldn't do enough ...bar staff again in the nights fantastic especially the staff in the animation bar brill glass never empty
overall a brilliant holiday will definitely be back and would recommend the hotel to family and friends "
