"Was booked to stay 2 weeks at the Resta Sharm only lasted 3 days which I spent on the phone to our UK travel agent demanding a move or a flight home .
Food was inedible , what wasn't eaten at one meal was served up at the next even mashed potatoes at breakfast .
The only bar was a dingy pool bar which served all drinks including beer in tiny plastic cups . The wine was served from a plastic cola bottle kept in the sink .
The only place to sit in the evening was at the pool on seats still wet and oily from sunbathers during the day .
Hygene was poor only one toilet at bar which I don't think was cleaned from one day to the next .
As a non smoker I was subjected to other peoples smoke even in the dining room .
We eventually moved to another hotel at considerable expense to ourselves .
This hotel should never be described as 4* even 2* would overate it"

"we are a family of 5.myself my husband our 15 year old daughter and 2 kids aged 8 and 9.we arrived late at night and were given a lovely large suite that slept 4.we asked for an extra bed the next day and they put one in straight away.the cleaner did do a good job and did the usual things with the towels eg crocodile.i was a bit concerned when my 15 year old blond haired blue eyed daughter popped up to the room alone to get something and was asked for a kiss, she just told him no chance.the rest of the hotel staff were fantastic and helpfull.i highly recomend you have a massage by the pool, fantastic and a good price.visit Adam in the shop a great bloke.i would rather buy from him than the shops in naama bay.the pool was a good size but as usual you had to be up early to get a bed. the whole area around it was pretty safe for the children, you could easily keep an eye on them.the hotel security was good. there were a large amount of polish there and on the whole they were ok,but i did get assaulted by one woman who tried to push my children out of her way to get on the mini bus to the beach and when i tried to stop her she grabbed me and scratched my chest.we complained to the management but they didnt care.if you want to go to the beach you are better off getting a cab. i didnt like the bit of beach owned by the hotel, but my husband went a few times and he thought it was ok.the food was fine and even my fussy kids managed ok although all of us had the runs at some point so dont forget to take some imodium.the real dissapointment was the lack of entertainment in the evening, only one night out of the ten that we were there had something going on.unless you want to sit and drink out of a plastic cup all night you will be bored and its even worse if you have kids.this hotel is ok if you just want to relax by the pool, get a tan and like to sleep early.we were lucky there were a handfull of great english people there and they helped to brighten the holiday."

"we arrived at the resta on the 1st of aug and we was welcomed my the hotel manager who told us that they had overbooked the hotel and there was not any rooms avalible he ask us if we would go across the road to another hotel,we wasn't very happy because there was 14 in our party and we had booked 5 rooms in total and could not understand how they had overbooked when we booked in jan...anyway we went to have a look at the other hotel but decided it wasn't as nice as the resta and so demanded that they find us our rooms, within 5mins they had our 5 rooms.we was all taken to our rooms which we found to be very clean and well mantained,we had a double bed(well 2 singles pushed together) and 2 single beds in the room a lovely balcony overlooking the pool a small fridge and full bathroom.
The meals were very basic and repetative every morning there was eggs fried ,boiled, scrambled, omletes and pancakes then there was sliced toms with grated cheese on top, mini hot dog sausages, mashed potatoe, cerals and toast that was breakfast.
for lunch and evening meal they had pasta, salad, rice, veg, potatoes, some kind of beef(goulash, chilli con carne or sliced),some kind of chicken(in bread crumbs mex, tandorri)and fish and for dessert they had a varierty of cakes and fruit.
between 11 and 12 they served filled rolls at the pool bar and between 3and 5 they served chips and pizza or chips and rolls.
the pool bar serves drinks up untill 11pm although everything comes out of bottles except the beer and they very often ran out of ice!
the staff are the most friendly people and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable. Adam who own the little gift shop in the hotel will give you any info you need on egypt and sharm he is a very nice fella.
the hotel run a small mini bus into naama bay and costs 17 egyptian pound return which is about £1.70 and the driver is very nice and if you speak to the hotel manager he will be happy to arrange for the bus to take you other places at a charge.
there is a small man made beach about 15 min walk which is ok but the water is very deep no good for young children but amazing to snookle there.
we went to the aquapark which cost £20 for adults and£13 for kids with lunch included we was told is better than cleo park and it was massive.
the quads are a must its a 3hr trip through the dessert to echo valley and the bedouins cost vary depending who arranges it ,another must is swimming with dolphins what an amazing experiance it cost £65 for 15mins but well worth every penny.
average prices for things: mcdonalds double big mac meal about £3.70 kfc extreme meal about £3.90,1 liter bottle of coke about 60p water about 30p for a large bottle, fags l&m 50p for 20 and about £5.50 for 200.

I would go back to the resta if i didnt take any kids because there is no entertainment at all here and the kids got bored in the evenings.
overall a lovely holiday and we are going back to sharm next year."

"This Hotel has the potential to be a great location. Most of the staff are friendlly and helpful and the facilities clean(ish). There were areas that could be put to much better use eg area over poolside bar would be great for evening entertainment but was not used. Little/ no entertainment apart from 'Pool party' on Friday nights. Beware of very slippy surface around pool quite a few slips and falls with or without footwear

What let this place down most of all was the food and drink, all inclusive? forget it!. Very poor choices and quality, perhaps because they were catering for a mostly Polish or Russian clientelle - don't know? If you like pastries, processed meat & Cheese, hot dog sausages, mashed potato and dodgy scrambled eggs for breakfast, you'll be fine because that's what you get every day. There were 3 choices of cereal but, since it was stuck to the bottom of the bowl, I didn't fancy my chances. Even the milk was watered down and only available for breakfast tea.

Lunchtime and Evening the meals were similar with two (often inedible) main choices; salad of cabbage, peppers and finely chopped unidentifiable items in goo or pasta in tomato sauce.

Snacks were laughable with leftover pastries from breakfast served AM and cold chips with squares of pizza or tiny hot dog sausages in buns PM. You could pay for an ice cream but nothing else available.

Drinks were rough . . . really rough! Choice of 4 local spirits and weak lager; orange or apple cordial so watered down you coulld only identify it by the colour; a choice of pepsi/diet orange or lemonade. Ice supply sporadic"

Quite a poor hotel

"I stayed at this hotel for two weeks with my boyfriend. I would say that it is an average three star hotel. The majority of people staying in this hotel are Russian, at the most, there were 10 English people including ourselves. The same songs are played over and over and carry on very loudly after 11pm. The food wasnt that good, it was the same thing each day. Also you had to chase the waiters for drinks and then they would come when you had finsihed your meal. The cleaner for our room was shocking. We were without toilet paper for about three of four days of the holiday, even though we asked for some from the reception. We were told to wait in our room. We werent prepared to waste a night of our holiday in the hotel room. He didnt clean the room properly. The floor was black, he never sweeped or mopped . The only service we got from him was he made the beds (some days, a couple of times he came at 9am when we were getting ready, i was putting sun tan lotion on and he nearly walked in on me so we told him not to bother). He also folded the towels and emptied the bins. Various lights went in our room over the two weeks, also the air con broke one night. One night all the lights went except one, we had to stay in our room for an electrian, he came and fixed it then hung about waiting for a tip, he went then came back later (trying again for a tip). The pool for average, my boyfriend had his first lesson of scuba diving here and couldnt see anything underwater due to all the suncream. If you are female you feel as though you cannt go anywhere on your own, even though people have seen you with a boyfriend the eygption men and staff try to chat you up. I personally felt uncomfartable even going to the pool bar on my own as you feel they are leering at you. There was a brilliant dive school over the road called Pirate Dive Club. My boyfriend did his PADI licence here. The staff are lovely and we went out on the boat with them quite a lot on the holiday to get away from the hotel. The snorkelling and diving is excellent. A cpouple of the staff were lovely, Billa who works near the reception is always happy to see you and really friendly. Also Mohamed is a really nice security guard on the door. I would definately not go back to this hotel."

"There is one word to sum up this hotel.."perfect".

We arrived at the Resta harm at 12.00 at night after a long 6 hour flight and we were met by smiling freindly faces in reception, then taken up to our room which was lovely.
Two minuites later there was a knock at the door and a waiter was there with a beautiful plate of fruit and a much welcomed bottle of nice cold water.

Our room was lovely with three single beds and a balcony overlooking the pool..perferct.

We went down to breakfast the next morning to find a beautiful display of food and the most helpful of staff.

The staff in the hotel are lovely, the food is gorgeous and everything is so clean.
I swam for the first time in 20 years as it was like being in a warm bath and the weather was fantastic.

Three people stood out on our holiday, one being Ivan, who ran the gift shop, such a nice kind and honest person who helped us a lot even changing money for us and gave me a lovely watermelon ..then there was Nero the massuer, he also became good freinds and his massages are fantastic, he is such a lovable character, last but not least Abdullah, the best waiter you could wish to have to make your holiday perfect.
All of these people made our holiday special and thank you to all of you.
this was the best holiday we have had in our lives and Sharm is a beautiful place.
We Found the Egyptian people to be so lovely and freindly and this hotel is a place i ould go to again and again , and the food was exceptional, mostly egyptian food which we love.

Thank you Resta Sharma

This is NOT a 4 star hotel!!!

"Do not be fooled into thinking this is a four star hotel! The food is poor as is the service. Both me and my partner had upset stomachs for the whole of the holiday and had to visit the pharmacy on a regular basis. We ended up having to withdraw more money so that we could eat out for the last 5 days of the holiday.

We booked for all inclusive but were outraged to learn that we had to purchase bottled water for the entire holiday. There is a water tank that you can get a drink from at the bar however 9 times out of ten there was no water left and when there was some it was warm water!

On a positive note the hotel is very clean and the pool and pool area is kept very well. Most of the staff were very helpful, particulary the waiters and bar staff. However the people on reception were very unhelpful - one day we asked for an early morning call as we were going on a trip and had to be up at 5am, however they never rang us, luckily I had set the alarm on my mobile phone as a back up!

Overall the resta sharm was abit of a let down. We'd been really excited about this holiday and had saved up for it however it was not what we thought it would be."

"We had a lovely time at the Resta, the pool is very clean and well maintained by the staff. The food was really good, fresh with a huge variety of cooked meats, salads, rice, all very well prepared - plenty of vegetarian options available too. There was always food around the bar if you needed it when the lunch/dinner meals were finished. Drinks are available until 2300 but you will need to pay for drinks after that time - the late bar is open till officially 1am but we stayed later a few nights.

The staff were very friendly and always willing to help, they gave us loads of helpful advice and all seemed to work very hard in making sure we were having a good holiday.

My only criticism would be the location which is a little far out though the hotel does offer a very good bus to Naama Bay at 7pm and 9pm with a return at midnight, we generally got a taxi back - do not pay any more than 30 egyptian pounds and take your life in to your own hands when in an Egyptian taxi!! We figured the cheaper it is the faster they drive! It was fun though and part of the experience.

Resta is like a little haven away from the madness of Naama, a little idyllic haven of quietness. If you're going for a sun holiday and are happy to lie by the pool with the occasional boat trip this would be perfect, if you're looking for an idyllic beach on the doorstep this won't be for you. I would go back to the Resta again for £500 a week to lie in comfort in the sun with food and drinks included I can't complain for the price. It was a good holiday and the Resta made it even better. Also had a massage from the on site masseuse which was lovely and I would reccommend that too!!"
