great peaceful holiday
"spent two weeks here, just got back. this hotel was great (we booked a suite)so spacious lounge and kitchen with tv, large bedroom with plenty of wardrobes and draws and a shower in clean bathroom. cleaner did lovley things making towels into swans etc and scattering petals and flower which was lovley.the food was varied and you could choose a pasta dish to be cooked.if you want a nice relaxed holiday with friendly people this is for you. There is not any entertainment but we enjoyed the pool bar and talking and playing cards.Great value for money, would definatley recommend, some people moaned about the food, these people expect 5 star,if they pay 5 star it would cost alot more. i would rate this 4 star but its much better value than some 5 star hotels in sharm. pools are lovley too.staff exellent."

basic hotel but helpful staff
"just returned from a week at this hotel.it was great for the first 3 days then me and my husband got ill after eating the ice cream!the hotel is quite basic but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.not alot of choice with food it tends to be the same every day.the food is not brilliant but its ok.the most annoying thing was being pestered by the staff from the spa!they come up to you all the time while you're trying to relax to try and get some business for the spa - they wont take no for an answer!shopkeepers and taxi drivers pester you as well the minute you walk out the hotel!we travelled with thomson are they were brilliant - they really look after you and try to make your holiday special.i wouldnt go back to this hotel personally but for the price its not bad at all.as long as you dont expect too much you will like it there."

"Just got back from the Mexicana with my partner, holiday was fantastic. Hotel staff were extremly friendly, alot of people have moaned about staff being rude. I did not witness this at all. Show some respect to them and you will get the same in return. Food was good, usually a good selection of meats and salads, if your a fussy eater probably not so good but the staff will usually try to accomodate you as best they can if you ask. Pool is massive, gardens are beautiful, rooms very clean. Drinks are served in hard 1/2 pint plastic cups or small throw away ones around the pool but its so hot there that you wouldn't want a larger cup as it will get warm quickly!! There is limited evening entertainment but this is usual for the whole of Egypt. My only complaint is the people of spent their whole holiday moaning!! If you want chips every night for tea go to Benidorm!!!"

what a let down horrendous
"Not a lot i can say about this hotel except it looked good, room was clean and fresh bedding every second day shower was a bit dodgy ,meals were take it or leave it,drinks were warm served in glasses taht didn't seem too clean, hassle outside hotel was a pain you felt uncomfortable going out, the staff were friendly enough but shrugged their shoulders when you asked a question, no entertainment except sunday karaoke wow,i have been ill for over 4 and half weeks started 3rd day in and still attending doctors wouldn't be in a rush to go back also wouldnt recommend this hotel unless you went bed and breakfast and ate out all the time but take plenty money fro taxis to get to other restaurants,"

BEST holiday EVER !!!!!
"I went to The creative Mexicana Resortwith my then partner, all i have to say is it was FAB!!! we couldnt of asked for more. There were all ammenities needed, nice shops around, palces to eat if you fancied a night out. Not too far from Naama Bay which is great!!! The staff were fantastic! so Friendly its unreal. Always there to wait hand and foot on you. The room was brillient, MASSIVE! and spotless. Always cleaned everyday and new sheets etc. We left a tiny tip once for the cleaner and then Everyday from then on the cleaner would sprinkle rose petals around the room and decorate the bed in hand made sculptures out of towels etc. It was so lvoely as you could see how grateful they were, When we left we gave one of the waiters a football t-shirt and it was like he had won the lottery!!!!! You dont realise just how hard done by they are, They didnt have a day off once in the 2 weeks we stayed there. The pool was lovely, always clean and the other people who were staying there were also very friendly! i will DEFINATLY be returning!!!!!! My best holiday without a doubt! LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!"

Best holiday we've ever had
"We booked this holiday last minute on a whim and it honestly was the best holiday we've ever had. We arrived at 2am having had an 8 hour delay at manchester airport. When we arrived our luggage was taken to our rooms whilst we checked in. Once in our rooms we found that the hotel staff had left us some food and water in our rooms as they knew we had been delayed and would probably be hungry, there was some bread, meat, salad and fruit. (We were never charged for this). The room was immaculate and extremely spacious. They cleaned the rooms and made the beds everyday and the mini bar was refilled every other day. It was actually cheaper to buy water and coke from the mini bar than from the supermarket outside. The food was not your normal all inclusive rubbish. Every evening there were choices of meat dishes, potato and veg dishes, and fresh pasta made to order. There was always plenty of salad and fruit at every meal and we were not ill at all during the two weeks we stayed. The food however was a bit repetative but there are two other restaurants and room service should you fancy something not on the menu. The pools were immaculate and there was always plenty of sun loungers. The pool bar is always busy and the staff very friendly. The amenities outside of the hotel here are pretty basic but it is only about £2 in a taxi to Nama Bay or £1 to the old market. Both of these areas are busy, friendly and have a great atmosphere. I think the thing that surprised us most was the fact that we didn't suffer any insect bites whilst in Sharm. Every night the hotel staff used some sort of smoke machine which kept the bugs at bay."

"My partner and I made a booking over the telephone through Thomson Holidays from the UK and were assured that everything we had booked was of good standard, infact i spent some time talking to the lady on the phone making sure that the accomodation was going to be suitable. We arrived around 6pm on the 19th December 2008 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and were driven to our accomodation, the Creative Mexicana. When we arrived we were instantly shocked. The entrance was dirty and the staff seemed to be 'hanging around' the entrance. We were taken to our room and were horrified. The room was filthy, the bathroom, which consisted of a shower, toilet and sink was damp, rust was dripping from the shower head and there was mould everywhere. The bed didnt look clean and the table next to it also had mould on it. The television was broken and the remote had been held together with black masking tape. We made a call to the reception to say that there was no way we could sleep in this room and that we wanted to talk to a Thomson rep asap. We were told there was no one there and that we would have to wait until the next afternoon. I then called the number on the ticket booklet and spoke to someone who said that they couldnt do anything but would ask the hotel to move us to another room. We were then showed 2 more rooms which were exactly the same, and in a worse condition than the first. The management and housekeeping came and were rude, off hand and were talking in arabic and whispering. I found this very uncomfortable and slightly threatening and became more concerned that our stay would now be worse than before. We then told the management we wanted to speak to Thomson again and they tried to convince us against it. We called again regardless and found no help at all, it was vague advice and it became clear that we would have to stay where we were. We were told that around 2pm the next day we would be able to see a Thomson rep.. Needless to say we moved. Would i ever go back to the Creative Mexicana..no way.. "

okay hotel, friendly staff
"We stayed at creative mexicana hotel november 2008, myself and partner with three kids aged 15, 10, and 9. The hotel was what you expect of 3* clean tidy except for the room which was a little drabby/tired. The bathroom could do with a little modernising + shower was more of a drip which was either really hot or cold. The food was okay, very repetitive catering more for our eastern friends!! There were quite alot of Russian guests staying at this hotel, most of which I found quite rude. The waiting staff were brilliant could not fault them always helpful, reception staff not so good. Regarding trips, book locally, they are cheaper and look after you. I would highly reccomend brothers dive, a bit up from the supermarket, same side as mexicana hotel.A guy called Mody booked our trips to Cairo, park aqua, and ras mohammad.Genuine guy, very helpfull and reasonable prices "

"The hotel itself is pretty good. The rooms are a good size, beds are also pretty big, free air-con. They're very clean and are made up every day. There is also a minibar that you have to pay for but it is cheap. The food is ok. Nothing special but then again it's not awful. There is a different choice every day, so there is a lot of variety. Most people will be able to find at least one thing they'll like. The staff are mostly hit and miss. A lot of them, especially cleaners are helpful and polite, but a few are rude. But over all the staff are mostly pleasant. Entertainment is sparce. Other than the pool and the occasional stray belly dancer there isn't much. Weekends however, football matches are shown. Transport is hit and miss too. The free shuttle bus runs on and off. There are set times but they differ a lot. Sometimes they run every 30 mins other times they run every 3 hours. Taxis are better. There is a taxi rank outside the hotel and they ae cheap. As for tours I found it was better to book through the reps. It may cost more but they have insurance, smething other tour providers don't. One big complaint however is the sun beds. There aren't nearly enough for eveyone at the resort, and as people put their towels down early to save spots not everyone get a bed. This causes a lot of tension and while I was there a few fights nearly broke out over them. When you ask the staff for a bed they usually just take someones elses, removing all their belongings off them first. Over all it's a nice place, I'd recomend it for a comfortable cheap place to stay."

" Nice clean hotel, but not 5 star as stated. We had a double room which was large and comfortable. Bedding was changed daily. Air con is free, which is good because the tempreture was in the 40's almost every day. Food was repetitive buffee style in the main restaurant, not to eveyone's taste (my 15 year old daughter hardly ate there), but you can order McDonalds delivery at reception, pizza and fries at the pool bar and there is a fantastic cafe (Piccasso's) no more than a few hundred yards up the road (Sunday lunch, or a full English there are excellent). As we were full board we had to pay for our drinks (even with meals), which is expensive. Wine is £3.20 per glass, beer is £3.00 and soft drinks are £1.00, but you get larger glasses and better quality than all inclusive guests. Entertainment is vertually none exsistant and there is very little to do outside the hotel, but Na'ma Bay is only a short taxi ride away (about £3.00) which has a better night life. Like most places, be prepared to be hasseled by locals to enter there shop/bar, just say no thanks and there's no problem. There are two beaches a free bus ride away, about 10 minutes. One is sandy with a few water sports, the other has a sandy area to sunbathe and a fantastic reef, where you can swim amongst the fishes. If you want excursions, ask at the local supermarket, we went to Cario by plane via him and had a great time (It's cheaper than the hotel). However by the time you've checked in etc. you might as well go by bus which I'm told has air con and is about £80 pp cheaper. Overall an enjoyable holiday, great if your a sun worshiper and just want to relax. "
