Really enjoyed our stay
"I am mystified as to how two sets of couples can have such different experiences in the same hotel.
We stayed here in August and had a wonderful time. No holes in our sheets and a very clean and tidy room - no problems with the pool either. The air-conditioning was very efficient. Yes, the food was outside but only in the evenings and then it was covered with clingfilm at all times (whether inside or outside). We ate all the salads - delicious - and didn't have any problems. As soon as the manager realised that I was vegetarian, special meals were brought to our table, cooked specially for us.
It is worth remembering that stomach problems abroad are often down to too much sun and food and drink rather than a specific bug. It is very, very hot there.
As to the staff, they were great. Yes, some people were quite insistent in trying to sell their services but a firm 'No' would do the trick. It is as well to remember that many of the people who work in Egypt - whether at the Amar Sina or not - are away from their families for months at a time and are trying to earn an honest living - no minimum wage in Sharm el Sheikh. If you are travelling to Egypt, please remember that there is a world of difference between our country and culture and theirs.
It struck me that many of the people at the hotel were too far out of their comfort zone. We treated the staff - whoever they were - with the same degree of respect that we would give anyone we met. This respect was returned twofold. This was my third time visiting Sharm el Sheikh and it hopefully won't be my last. I am more than happy to return to the Amar Sina and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. But if you are expecting the Costa del Sol or Majorca you are likely to be there for the wrong reasons."

Food posioning heaven - beware
"My boyfriend and I stayed for 7 nights at Amar Sina and it was 7 nights to long as far as we were concerned.
Firstly the rooms were filthy, sheets dirty and with more holes than material, towels thread bear - need I go on.
Secondly the pool was filthy and the hassle around the pool from the massage team was just dreadful and insulting at the best of times.
The zoo at the back of the hotel is awful - a camel, goats, birds of pray and monkies - is the back of a hotel in small cages the correct place for these animals?? - i think not.
Both my boyfriend and I suffered whilst on holiday and for over a week when we got home with food posioning (confirmed by doctor) due to the awful food.
Food is served look warm at the best of times and left uncovered and outside - no need to go any further.
During our week there 4 couples refused to stay and were eventually moved hotel - good move!
Bar and waiting staff were friendly although management and cleaners were rude and uninterested in being of any assistance to guests.
My tip if your brave enough to still go to this hotel - take plently of Imodium and some good quality toilet roll - trust me you will need both if you eat in this hotel."

Great Hotel Amar Sina
"Had a fantastic holiday at the amar sina,we we worried after reading some of the reviews in our case we had no problems, the rooms were very clean, hot showers every day.The food was very good loads of choice at breakfast and evening meal and less at lunch time which i ate but did'nt really need,Just a pig. My 13 year old daughter spent most of the time in the pool which was clean and you could just walk in to it.She loved the staff who were very helpful and friendly. She also liked the internet cafe next to reception which was £15 egyptian pounds(£1.50).
We booked our trips just outside the hotel which were very good prices. We did by a visa on arrival but did not need it.we will definately go back to this hotel.
If you want to ask me any questions please feel free to e-mail me

Hotel with Egyptian feel....
"After reading some other peoples reviews on this hotel I was not holding too much hope for the two weeks i was going to be staying there.
Firstly I travelled with my girlfriend, it is the first time either of us have visited Egypt so we didnt know what quite to expect.
We arrived to the hotel via taxi from the airport which cost us about £15 plus tip, we had been ripped off as we later learned long taxi joruneys could cost you as little as £3 -£5, but that is a seperate issue.
The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. Your room is cleaned daily although the maids have no consistancy with the times they knock in the mornings. If you get up early anyway this shouldnt be a problem but for us personally we were woken up as early as 8am some mornings whilst other mornings it was 11am. However the maids do an excellent job and leave some really nice displays on your bed made out of towels.
The rooms are pretty basic but luckily we had paid for half board so we didnt require any cooking facilities. Few rooms have balconys but that wasnt a problem really as we had a good air conditioning system which gave us great escape from the heat outside.
Staff in the Amar Sina are very hard workers who work long hours and look to meet your needs whenever called upon. We did have a couple of issues during are stay though, on one occasion we had to pay for a meal twice as I did not keep the receipt when I originally payed for it so we suggest you keep all receipts for all purchases in the hotel as they keep stock by pen and paper which no doubt leads to more human error.
Security in the hotel can be intimidating as we were strangely followed back to our rooms on a couple of occasions after a night out which was rather unnerving.
The food in the Amar Sina is very nice and quite healthy looking, we did actually find ourselves eating out a few times as the menu in the hotel doesnt really offer much variation. If your a fan of Chicken, rice, pasta and vegetables you cant really go wrong.
You can enjoy some entertainment whilst eating. Belly dancers, egyptian dancers etc perform most nights.
Overall a decent hotel, we probably wouldnt go back but thats because of the resort its self, its relatively quiet and a taxi ride is needed everytime you go anywhere as nowhere is within walking distance. It was a relaxing holiday and probably more suited for families."

Avoid Like The Plague!
"Oh my gosh, I have never been iller - and neither have the 20 or so people we spoke to while we were there.
The staff are pleasant and friendly, and do make it more of a pleasant stay. BUT.....
*The pool is filthy, with flies and scum all over the top and round the sides
*The food is servied look warm and left standing for at least an hour before lunch/dinner
*You get harrassed non-stop by the massage guy
*The showers are mouldy
*The rooms are dirty
*SOME of the management are ignorant and not interested in your issues
*Broken tiles in the pool - cut feet
*Farm at the back of the hotel is a mosquito heaven - I pity you if you get a room near it
I have never been on a holiday where I wished I could leave early, but on the fourth day when I was stuck in bed, doubled up with pains in my stomach (now confirmed by the doctor - Food Posisoning), I was crying to come home.
I would never in my life recommend this hotel to anybody. We know of at least 4 couples that demanded to be moved out of the hotel.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL - If this were a British hotel, it would have been closed months ago for Health & Safety reasons.
If you are still brave enough to go - you were warned!!!"

amar sina great little hotel
"just spent 2 weeks at the amar sina, arrived in the night and not to impressed but when morning broke was pleasantly surprised. the design of the hotel is something else. like other reviews that have been posted, the same echo comes from ourselves. the guys who work there are supurb. they really have a laugh with you and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. marco is a star if you go make sure you get to know this guy. he will make you laugh from morning till night. the food is ok probably the only let down. as i said we were there for 2 weeks and the food got a bit boring so we ended up eating out a few times in naama bay. only for a change from the menu.outside the hotel is sams bar and sam is the most warm hearted bloke you could ever meet. he will make your night with his jokes and his english is of a very high standard and you can really get into a good conversation with him knowing that he understands what you are on about.
i agree with the post regarding the zoo there are a lot of mossies and ask my wife if they bite as she got bit over 100 times in one night. make sure you take plenty of repelent and a plug in for your room. and spray it daily when you go out in the morning. the rooms are basic but comfortable. taxi drivers can be a pain, we like to walk a lot and were for ever getting bugged by them trying to get you into the cars.
we really enjoyed ourselves and a lot was because of the guys who work there. room service was a bit early in the morning but that was our fault for staying out at hard rock till 4 am then going to sams bar till 6 am lol. guys in naama bay can be a pain trying to get you into their shops just either carry on walking or just say no. some you have to be more forth right with and it can be easy to lose you rag when they keep pestering you.
all in all our stay was really good and i would say if you go you will enjoy yourselves as it is hard not to when the guys behind the bar are allways making you laugh. we found out that they earn next to nothing and on laving gave the ones thatwe knew most 50 egypian pounds tip which is about a fiver english and that is far more than they earn in a few days work. and they do work hard so try to reward them for their efforts.
hope this has been of some help to all thinking of going to the amar sina, and if you do go happy hols.

Team Glamour..Amar Sina Nicky & Terri
"Stayed at the Amar Sina, May 2006 with my friend. First impression was a bit ropey but from the moment we ditched the bags the holiday got going. The staff are fab and remember your name, room number and always make a point of saying hello.
As the hotel is small you feel part of a little community and by the end of the week we knew most people around the pool and it was very hard to pack our bags and say goodbye.
The food was fine, not a big eater so it suited me although my friend had a dodgy tummy but you come to expect that anywhere you go these days. All inlcusive finished at 11 but the drinks are very cheap and the staff stay up into the early hours with the heavy drinkers..
All in all a fantastic holiday and I will definatley be going back again soon."

"Upon arrival we were welcomed by a rude reception guy with a serious attitude problem, he then continued to speak to myself and my partner very rudely and denied us even having a booking with the hotel even though we had booked over a month in advance! We then thought that maybe the manager may be able to shed some light on the matter yet he was just as useless as the guy behind the desk who offered no help, no solutions and pretty much said it was tough and not his problem.
We finally got sorted and moved to the coral hills hotel which was much nicer thanks to our holiday rep although this did take numerous calls back to the UK costing stupid amounts of money, in the 100's however our new hotel was much better, much nicer and professional than the originally booked Amar Sinai. We are an easily pleased couple who usually never moan however if you want a holiday from hell then go here!
In the 2 hours of sitting in lobby/actually being told to leave the hotel we also noticed 2 guest of Amar Sinai complaining of filthy rooms, filthy sheets etc.
AVOID THIS DIVE!!! Much better alternatives about, this hotel was that bad we question why a UK holiday company would even list this place. Onward and upwards, GO ELSEWHERE!

AWFUL AVOID AT ALL COSTS
"Dirty, old and falling apart, Animals in small petting section cleaner than pool area. no snacks, no bottled water, NOT disabled friendly, no clean beach, no snacks, no variety of food very basic kind of edible though, no variety of drinks, full fat cokes or orange or sprite, no red wine only white and like vinegar, local liqueur all watered down though, store beer bottles in ice that they serve in your drinks, Shisha are filthy, NO spa or Laundry services, rooms basic fairly clean. Entire hotel riddled with Mosquito and Sand flies, so Doctors surgery extremely busy. 1 restaurant, Gym are dirty majority of equipment not working. STAFF very good and very friendly (all except 1, big Mohammed, should sack him rude, lazy and unhelpful)
Apart from that met some fantastic people and had fantastic holiday, but then it is what you make it.
Went from 5th to 15th Oct 2014"
