great hotel, we will come back for sure!
"we went to the sahara sands for one week - during easter holidays. the weather was warm & sunny, the first days sometimes a bit windy, but that was ok. the resort (3 hotels: the interconti, the sahara oasis and the sahara sands) is really nice! it's not an huge ugly "hotel-bunker", it comes with a kind of original egypt-style, small(er) buildings with 2 floors, all dropped around the so called "lagoon". all the resort looks really new and well treated, everything is very clean. we had a seaview room (which i would recommend - the view is amazing!). the room and the bathroom is big. bed(s) are good. everything looked like there haven't been that many guests before us. the pools were nicely warm. beach was great - and only 50m away from our room. our 2 year old daughter love both, pool and beach. snorkeling (possible from the hotel-jetty) in the red sea was fun. the staff was really nice and helpful. sometimes it looked like there were more service-staff then guests ;o) the food was (for egypt) really OK, a big variety of european and north african-stuff. we had HB, and we took pizza/pasta/burger/chicken at the beach-resto for lunch. but an upgrade to AI is possible, as i've asked at the reception - it's +35â¬/day/person only. mainly french and italian guests. french animation (dressed with "1001soleils" t-shirts). the week there was really pleasant. we will come back for sure! ps: the hotel was only 20% booked (and it was EASTER holidays). i never had so much place... ;o)) ps.2: we had a flight to marsa alam airport (a real brand new airport). the hotel shuttle picked us up there. great service. don't take a flight to hurgada airport (sorry, but it's a shit airport) as this means min. 3 HOURS drive to marsa alam. not cool at all..."

I'll be back
"We got a nice all-inclusive deal so we took a night bus from Cairo. Hotel arranged us a complimentary pick-up from nearby stop. The resort is brand new and very nice! But it was quite deserted.. then again I was happy that after several beach resorts in Egypt this one was still russian free. ;-) No badly behaving and dressing quests, thank you. (Heard a rumour from shopkeeper that they expected a big group of them to arrive in two weeks..) Coral reefs are just few steps from the hotel and are easily accessible from a jetty at the beach. Dolphins and big turtles come regularly to say hello so there's no need to rent expensive boat to reach the fish world and this is a big plus for the resort. Food quality was excellent and service top-notch. You don't need to wear ridiculous wrist bands to prove your all-inclusive here, you just sign the zero bill for room account. Standard room is very good, has a balcony, tv with couple of movie channels and a good bathroom. Cleaner visits twice a day. Swimming pools are very good. Heated pool became our favourite even though the bigger one was more beautiful. There is a big water slide on property. This place is for total relaxation. Bring a good book and enjoy the lazyness. All-inclusive is best deal here because nearby Port Ghalib is very expensive. The hotel arranged us complimentary airport transfer for our flight to Cairo. It took only 10 minutes to reach the Marsa Alam airport."

"Very nice resort that we thought quite expensive being offered in Italy on a B&B basis; but we found a cheap offer in ALL inclusive and we decided to book the holiday. It was great! The weather was very sunny, the resort one of the best we have been to: the staff was really nice and helpful ( reception, waiters, life guards,......... everyone), we had a room with seaview and lagoon view, the room was perfectly clean everyday. The food was OK (we're Italian and we know that we can't eat the usual food when we are in Egypt), a bit better in the first days, before the arrival of a very large group of Egyptian families that focused the attention of the cooks!!!!!! Anyway, the week there was really pleasant. The pools were nicely warm; the lagoon and lazy river and the sea were cold but they must be perfect in summer."
