well worth a second visit

"Yes, a hotel with minor teething problems but the rest far outweighed them. From the minute the taxi pulled up outside reception the staff were there to please. Choice of food wasn't great but there were only eighty guests in the whole hotel so understandable. We were disappointed by the lack of entertainment but again was due to the number of guests. If I was to make a comment it would be that you had to explore the hotel yourself - thats how we found the pool table. One of the good things was that people dressed for dinner - not formal of course but enough for the ladies to get out their nice dresses and the men not to stand out if they wore a shirt. Would I go back? Its already booked !"

fantastic 5*+ hotel

"We have recently stayed at this hotel for a week to celebrate our 50th Birthdays and it was fantastic. The food, staff and hotel are the best we have stayed in but we chose this hotel for two people who wanted to be pampered and relax away from it all and that was exactly what we got. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much for them. Food in all the restaurants was fantastic and throughtout the hotel it certainly had the wow factor. We have stayed in many hotels in egypt but this has to be the best ever. There was nothing that you could complain about throughout our stay, which unfortunately was only for a week. This will deffinately be at the top of our list for he next child free relaxing holiday."

Great for Relaxation

"We spent a week in this hotel and had a really relaxing time. The hotel is located outside Hurghada in a modern development which is under construction. Therefore it is surrounded by construction sites but you don't notice this at all when in the hotel grounds it means, however, that you can't really walk anywhere. The communal areas are of a very high quality and our room was a good size, (we had no trouble changing to a room with a double bed). The room was nicely furnished so no real complaints - we especially liked the balcony. Having lots of English speaking TV channels made a real difference and there were tea/coffee facilities in the rooms which is quite unusual and very welcome. Whilst there we enjoyed the gym which is very well equipped, but unfortunately the spa was not open, although that will be remedied soon. And don't miss the massage - they are fab! We also liked the pool which was heated and a good size so, if you wanted to, you could do proper swimming. The beach was clean but the ambience was somewhat spoilt by the building work also, access to the sea is difficult as it is reached over rocks so you need proper swimming shoes - the hotel provided a selection.
The food was excellent. As a vegetarian there were always options available to me - even though we decid. ed to avoid salads, ice etc. The deserts really are something to see and i recommend the Chinese restaurant.. Throughout the hotel the service really could not be faulted.
Our fellow guests were either Russians or, like us, middle-aged Brits - all of whom were reasonably pleasant
For the money that we spent we feel we got excellent vfm and if it wasn't for the hideously chaotic experience at Hurghada airport on our return journey we would definitely consider going back."

Perfect for rest and relaxation!

"Go to this hotel if you are looking for rest and relaxation. Location wise there is nothing around it as Sahl Hasheesh is a new resort with only three completed hotels. There are quite a few unfinished ones so I am sure one day this will be a bustling resort . You can get a shuttle bus or a taxi into Hurghada if you want shopping, restaurants, bars etc.

We booked Premier Le Reve with Inspired Luxury Escapes as a week in the sun to cheer up a gloomy January, with our daughter and her husband. We had no great expectations as it was a last minute deal and were just happy to escape the winter for some rest and relaxation in the sunshine. We were absolutely delighted with the hotel even though it is not fully completed yet.

The reception area is furnished beautifully and is really pleasant just to sit and relax in. Even the toilets are worth a visit! There is a nice cosy bar, which we spent many an evening in. The beer and wine was of very good quality and a bowl of crisps and peanuts were bought to your table with your drinks - a nice touch.

There are four swimming pools; the main one being a pleasant 28 degrees in temperature and for me, who is not a great swimmer, a good depth all the way over. A lovely sauna next to the pool and very comfy sun loungers. The beach is just in front of the pool area and also has great sun loungers and individual cabanas, which are really a nice touch. You can hire snorkels and masks daily, but just borrow the shoes. Really nice classy beach bar also!

Our room was a really good size, beds were very comfortable and bedding was good quality. Big bathroom with separate shower cubicle plus a shower over the bath. We have read some reviews that commented on poor workmanship and yes, some of the work is a little shoddy but it really does not detract from what a lovely hotel this is and hey we don't have to fix the towel rail that falls off, or the dodgy bit of tiling, that is somebody else's job!

Buffet restaurant food was the best we have ever had 'buffet style'. Our daughter is a vegetarian and struggles food wise where ever she goes, but she had plenty of choice every day. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent, we really were spoilt for choice. We have travelled to Egypt many times and this hotel offered the most variety and best quality that we have experienced. The deserts not only looked stunning but tasted delicious. A huge amount of effort is put into the restaurant from the furniture, cutlery and glassware to the food itself - it was excellent. We also ate in the Italian and Chinese Restaurant, which also offered great food. The hotel hold a 'kitchen cocktail', which is a cocktail party held in the kitchen where they serve canapes, sushi, individual deserts served on spoons, as well as cocktails. The chef even made my daughter some sushi with a filling of cream cheese and cucumber as she is a veggie. You are shown around the kitchen areas i.e. butchery, pattisserie, etc. It is a fabulous idea and great to see where your food is prepared.

Coincidentally, it is the first time we have been to Egypt and not suffered 'a gippy tummy' at some stage of our holiday. I am sure that say's something about the hygeine and food quality of this hotel.

We cannot praise the staff highly enough, they were all very efficent, friendly and polite. The pool bar waiter (with glasses) was incredibly attentive - heaven knows how many miles he walked during a day. He constantly waited on people all day long, you only had to look up and he was there. Every morning and afternoon we were served individual bowls of fruit whilst relaxing on our sun loungers. The pool boys were great and got our beds ready every day and greeted us with a huge smile and a 'good morning' and that was whether you gave them a tip or not, as did the boys on the beach. The waiters in the restaurant were cheeful and attentive from early in the morning at breakfast to late at night at dinner.

The hotel is not finished yet - the spa was almost completed. Casino and disco are not finished but are well on the way to being completed. We used the gym, which is fabulous with state of the art equipment. We had a massage, which was very good and relaxing.

We loved the fact that the hotel was under occupied as it meant we had lots of space, no queues for meals and almost one on one waiter service. Out hope is that this hotel continues to give excellent service and excellent food when fully occupied, and if it achieves that it will be one of the best in the Red Sea.

So congratulations to all of the staff at Premier Le Reve, keep up the good work! We will definitely be back - loved it."

excellent 1st class 5* resort hotel

"We stayed 2 weeks and had an excellent relaxing brake,nothing Was to much trouble for the staff the food was as good and better than many of the 5* resort hotels we have stayed in .
The arrival at Hurghada airport was the usual manic frenetic unorganised Egyptian airport chaos but once you have arrived at the hotel it is like stepping into another world a world of 5* luxury from the minuet we set foot in the magnificent reception we knew we were going to enjoy our stay.
Yes it is true the area around the hotel is developing and is basically a building site but this dose not intrude on your enjoyment of the hotels facilities and yes it is true that this brand new hotel has a few teething problems but only minor ones that a nit picking individual would let distract from there enjoyment of there holiday.
Our rooms were excellent with plenty of space and spotlessly clean and plenty of attention to detail,we Even had fresh fruit and flowers.
The food in all the dining rooms was superb and the staff were attentive but not to intrusive, the wines and other drinks were a pleasant surprise unlike some so called 5* resort hotels
The facilities in the rest of the complex were first class and I would imagine would expand with the hotels occupancy rates.
We would hartley recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a relaxing all inclusive pampered 5* brake"

A La Carte 5*, No Way

"First impressions were excellent , beautiful looking imposing reception area,large rooms, nice gardens, big pools, beachfront location, cosy lounge, well appointed restaurants.
The bedroom, bathroom were of excellent size and the bed was very comfortable. Kept very clean and tidy.
Downside.There was a very small cloakroom area for hanging and storage of clothes. The bedroom could have done with a lick of paint. The standard of workmanship in the batchroom was a disgrace, the towel rail fell off in your hand, the partition in the shower cubicle was screwed to the wall with packing held by corrugated cardboard,the water / temperature adjustment not properly attached to the wall, during showering the water ran out of the cubicle, chipped and cracked tiles, sealant around the bath and sink areas poorly applied.

The outside of the building overlooking the gardens very impressive.
Downside. The lift in our corridor was out of action, none of the doors around the entrance to our corridor fitted and were hard to or did not close at all, at the side of these doors the brickwork did not meet them showing gaps filled with rubble.

The gardens and walkways were well laid out.
Downside. The paving stones were in disrepair and the metalwork around the manhole covers had rusted, electrical wiring around the plants and trees was unsightly.

The pools were of good size and clean.
Downside. mosaic tiles lining the pools were missing and replaced by cement.

Beach. Well maintained and clean. extremely comfortable sun loungers. No real downside but the tranqulity might be lost when the remaining hotels are completed

Gents toilets were clean.
Downside. The standup flushes and fitments were not firmly fixed to the walls.

Main buffet restaurant. Food was very good, well presented and varied.

Chinese restaurant. Good food, standard of decoration left a bit to be desired.

Italian restaurant. Good food.
Downside. A group of us went for dinner, ordered our starter and main course, food was excellent. By the time we wanted to order our desert it was about 10:30 and we were told that the kitchen was closed so no desert ! Why were we not asked to order our desert earlier ?

Seafood at the pool.
Downside. The was no seafood at the pool.

Lobby bar. Very pleasant although not very big. Some nice low key entertainment.
Downside. After a few days the J & B Whisky had run out, also the crisps / nuts / melon balls normally on the tables "were not available". Can this really happen in a 5* all inclusive hotel ?

Staff. Throughout the hotel all very attentive, friendly and willing to please

The overall impression was that the hotel was not actually "recently opened" bot one that is in dire need of redecoration and refurbishment. The quality of workmanship throughout the complex left a lot to be desired and would be unacceptable in U.k. let alone a Thomson 5* A La carte Hotel.

My tip. If you want real qulity look elsewhere and don't believe all you read in a Thomson brochure.

Very Chilled and relaxing

An excellent choice for a quiet week away to relax and chill with very helpful and atttentive staff as well as having spacious and well appointed rooms overlooking the Red Sea.


We travelled with Thomson from the UK and upon arrival at the hotel we were given a free room upgrade and a personal tour of the hotels facilities.

The ground floor Superior Room overlooked the Pool area and was spacious with a minibar that was refilled everyday (part of the ultra all inclusive) ,a flat screen tv with internet access and a large and well appointed bathroom with separate shower. The room that we had included two UK type electrical sockets as well as the usual continental two pin type. Tea and Coffee making facilities were in the room and fresh milk could be obtained from the main restaurant upon request.

The main restaurant provided an extensive buffet menu at all meal times. We never waited to be seated and over the week developed an excellent relationship with the staff in the main restaurant. Food quality was good throughout our stay and staff were very attentive but not intrusive. Due to the low occupancy at the time of our visit we were always able to get a sea view when dining in the main restaurant. We also able to eat in the three specialist restaurants by arrangement with Guest Services as part of the ultra all inclusive deal. In all the specialist restaurants the service was excellent and the food of a good standard, however, choice was relatively limited in the Italian and Chinese Restaurant.

We were first couple to use the Fish Restaurant and we received exceptional service from the Restaurant Manager and his team including four dedicated Chefs from the main dining room at one point during our meal. The fish was presented well and cooked to perfection.

Pool & Beach

Always plenty of sun loungers available at both the pool and on the beach. No problem with getting a lounger in a location to suit your needs. Pool staff provided fresh towels each day. For much over our stay the beach was empty. The pool bar staff were very friendly and we never waited more than a minute to be served.

Overall an exceptional hotel in a quiet location. We will definitely go back again"

An oasis on the Res Sea

"Just got back from the Premier Le Reve hotel and spa. Reviews on this hotel
are rare because the hotel is new and to date there are few British holidaymakers.
The two earlier posts comment on the finish in the rooms and hotel and I have to agree that the workmanship would not be acceptable in your own home, but hey your not buying the place so the odd shoddy tiling and badlys fitting door doesn’t really detract from the overall excellence. As said previously the hotel is only half open in terms of bedrooms but virtually complete in respect of public areas. The Seafood a la carte restaurant opened whilst we were there but we did not try it. Still to open are the Disco, Casino and Egyptian restaurant but to be fair Thomson did notify us before departure. Sue and I have stayed in quite a number of 5 star hotels worldwide and to be honest the room and bathroom were as good if not better than most. As most of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in are on a bed and breakfast basis the cost of drinks and meals usually make you eyes water. We have also stayed all inclusive in Spain and that has usually meant average accommodation and cheapo drinks in plastic glasses!!
Therefore how nice to enjoy a few pre dinner drinks in luxury surroundings followed by a first class meal in one of the a la carte or main buffet restaurant. And then be able to round off the evening with further drinks in the lobby bar. The drinks were all high quality! The beer option was either Heineken or local Sakalya beer both excellent. Champagne was freely available and included in the ultra all-inclusive.
I requested prior to arrival in resort a double-bedded room and we were given one of the superior deluxe rooms with pool view for no extra supplement though that may not be possible when the hotel gets full. The pool area was delightful and the pool bar
also very comfortable. The waiters would offer you a drinks service on your sun bed and fresh fruit salads were often offered. The main pool was also heated to a very comfortable temperature. All guests were offered a complimentary 20-minute spa treatment which was a nice touch although the prices for a one-hour Thai massage at 50 euro was a tad high!
The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus in to Hurghada, which we used once and as we were not impressed with Hurghada we were glad to get back to our little oasis in the desert.

We planned prior to going on holiday to tour the Valley of the Kings but decided against it as we would miss one whole day of ultra A I pampering.
The fridge in your room is stocked daily with a variety of drinks as part of the AI package. You also get bottled water as required. There is a kettle and coffee, tea and creamer if required but to be honest we rarely bothered as you could get anything you wanted in the hotel. If you wanted fresh milk you only had to ask at the pool bar….I did when we first got there but didn’t use it more than twice.
The hotel does not offer exchange facilities but unless you are travelling out a lot you do not need any. We took Egyptian money with us and in total we spent approx £3.50 the whole week and that was on coffee in Hurghada. We did use some to tip the room attendant and the bar and pool staff at the end of the holiday but earlier I found that English pound coins were ideal for occasional tipping.

To sum up.

If you are looking for a hotel that is lively and close to the action DON’T book the Premier Le Reve.

If you are looking for a quiet out of the way luxury retreat where you can chill out and recharge your batteries…….Book it now!!

If you want to lose weight don’t come to this hotel!

We paid £550 each for one-week ultra all-inclusive and in my book that is superb value for money.

We had no issues whilst away with The Pharaohs revenge nor did anyone else to our knowledge.

Not five star a la carte

"On arrival first impressions were excellent. On closer inspection,such a shame that the materials used were of the highest quality,but horrified by the standard of the finish, Mostly Russian guests,but the hotel was virtualy empty, we were told that the hotel was having a soft opening,which in laymans terms means that the facilities that were in the brochure were pretty much non existent, only half the hotel was open to guests, comfort in the rooms apart from the workmanship was excellent,huge soft beds,walk in shower,satellite tv,in all quite luxurious.

Restaurants available were Buffet, Chinese and Italian,but not open every evening.

No Casino, No Disco,No Seafood restaurant, we were told that this would be open 2 days after our arrival,please let us know if it is open now?, the Sushi Restaurant we understood was available at an extra cost,again was not open,the only raw fish availalbe were the ones i saw while enjoying the excellent snorkelling . Staff were some of the friendliest and attentive we have encountered on our many travels.

All in all a pleasant relaxing holiday,but how on earth it can be rated a la Carte,I do not understand, I wish the Hotel the best of luck,but we were sold something which was not available,the price difference between Platinum 5 Star and this Hotel is quite substantial,so we feel that we have been overcharged for what the brochure stated,we have taken this up with Thompson,and await there reply.

Good, but there are issues

"Stayed at this hotel from Dec 4 for seven nights with my wife. Booked through Thomson.
Took about 40 minutes to get from airport by minicab transfer.
One downside is the hotel's location in what is presently a building site. There are endless hotels and private apartments being built, most of which were just shells when we were there. In fact, the nearest finished hotel to ours was a 45 minute walk away. We know, because we did it. Our hotel didn't yet offer a currency exchange service so we had to walk to the Old Palace Hotel.
First impressions of the hotel were very good. Hotel lobby is very impressive, huge and all marble, as are the lobby toilets. Our room was large, very well appointed and had a small private patio area as we were on the ground floor.
However, on closer inspection it is obvious that Egyptian building standards are not what we are used to back home. And certainly way short of five star quality.
Our shower had missing tiles, leaving exposed brickwork and rubble. One of the two bathroom sinks was without a plug, and the towel rail came away in my hand. There were marks on the walls, areas of plaster showing, chipped wood of the bed surround, the bath was already rusting and numerous tiles had chips in them. In themselves these were all small things, but when taken as a whole it is not what you expect of a brand new hotel, which had only been open 7 weeks and is billed as five star.
On top of this, the general fit and finish around the whole hotel was very poor.
Areas of the hotel ARE five star - the lobby, pool and beach area, but they are compromised by the other shortcomings.
The pool areas are lovely with a classy feel and the cabanas of the hotel's private beach are a nice touch. However, the pool bar looked worn already with marks on the furniture and general fit and finish issues.
The bar men have also yet to master the skills of cocktail making!
Although we were on an all-inclusive package, the range of cocktails was very small and basic. The barman, on two occasions said he couldn't make the cocktail we wanted because he didn't have one of the ingredients.
The staff are very friendly and eager to please and all speak basic English.
The food was of a good standard in the main buffet restaurant, with plenty of choice and enough changes daily to satisfy most people. We twice had problems trying to book into the Chinese restaurant as part of the Thomson all-inclusive package, first being told there would be a charge, which the rep sorted out the next day, and then they messed up our reservation so they had no record of it when we arrived, so they wouldn't allow us in. We had to rebook for a later time. The food in the Chinese was very good.
The advertised seafood restaurant, sushi restaurant, the spa, disco and casino as all advertised were not up and running. There was also no wireless internet in our room as advertised, but there was free wireless in the lobby.
The hotel offered a free shuttle bus to another hotel to use their spa facilities as way of an apology.
The hotel does not have an iron and ironing board, which you would expect in a five star hotel.
There is a small, basic shop, which was half stocked, mainly with t-shirts and your typical cheap souvenirs.
To summarise this is a very nice hotel right next to the sea with a great lobby, lovely pool area and decent food and polite and helpful staff.
If you can live with the shoddy workmanship in the rooms, the lack of some of the advertised facilities and the fact there is nothing to do outside of the hotel unless you travel to Hurghada then you should still have a relaxing stay.
As a point of interest the hotel was virtually empty for our visit. The majority of the guests were Russian, some German and a minority of Brits."
