Excellent all round family hotel.
"We booked the hotel and were very worried about the reports that we had read and we were so wrong. Rooms We paid the extra for a superior family room and this proved a fantastic choice. Both of the bedrooms were large with plenty of storage and excellent bathrooms, especially the shower. It was nice not to have the children in the same room as myself and my husband, but they were just next door. The rooms are interconnecting and the main bedroom has a lovely sitting area, the only downside was the balcony. Although the balcony was large there were only 2 chairs and no table, but nothing major. The rooms look spectacular but upon closer inspection the finish isnât quite 5 star standard, but the room doesnât make the holiday. Food. This is what I was worried about as I donât eat anything green, salad or fish. The food was amazing and catered for all tastes. There is a choice of three restaurants during the day and two in the evening. The main restaurant is the best as this offers the most choice and provided ice cream at lunch (this is the only time ice cream is available). The A La Carte Italian restaurant was a little disappointing as the portions are EXTREMELY small and not quite Italian in taste. There is a carvery every evening, along with lots of different meat and fish dishes. The food is probably the best that I have tried in Egypt. Bars. The beach bar gets extremely busy during the day, but the staff work very hard to serve you as quickly as possible. In the evening there is a choice of 2 bars the outdoor bar and the lobby bar. The drinks are ok, if you are having alcohol especially spirits let the waiter know how much spirit you like otherwise they are so string you could clean paint brushes with it LOL. Please try and use our British manners as many of our Eastern European neighbours donât and this is very frustrating for the staff, a simple please, thank you and a smile goes a long way! Pools. The swimming pools are great nice and cool after soaking up the Egyptian sun. Try and get sunbeds early, between 7;30 and 9, as there is no other shade around the pools and the midday sun is a killer. The pools are staffed by lifeguards from 8am til sunset and the kids pool was amazing, keeps the little ones entertained for hours. The slides are running between 10 and 12 then 3 til 5;30. Beach. The beach is lovely with lots of watersports available ay very reasonable prices. The dive centre is also fabulous and my 9 yr old had her first scuba diving experience with them (she is hooked) again at very reasonable prices. Both of these centres operate in Euros but will accept most currencies. For the Kids. The kids club is probably the best my girls have ever been to, make sure they know you are English as if you donât everything is in German. The kids club is open from 10 til 12 then from 3 til 5;30, there is the option for the kids to have tea with the kids club this means that the kids are entertained from 3 til 8 when the mini disco starts giving you the opportunity of having a meal in peace. There is a wide rage of activities for the kids in the kids club from painting to banana boat rides. The staff are so friendly and helpful and really seem to care about the kids that are there, after all if your kids are enjoying themselves the holiday is a success (for us anyway!). Overall this hotel is above average bordering on excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone with kids. Reviews are peoples opinion but everyone likes different things go and make your own mind up you will not be disappoint"

Great hotel, excellent rooms, lovely beach and good food
"Booked great late deal on this hotel via independant operator. Had read mixed reviews prior to going and should not have worried as the hotel is great. My husband and I , along with my parents(who are in their 70s) stayed for a week and we all had a great time. Positives ; New rooms are all deluxe - many with great sea views Pool and beach - spotlessly clean and great for all the family Restaurants - choice and standard of food and presentation Staff - apart from a few 'new' members of staff generally we were very well looked after. The waiters in the poolside bar and the carribean bar were especially attentive and friendly. Great reception and lobby Lovely bathrooms and the cleaners keep your rooms sparkling Could do better.. Shade by the pool was limited and the sunbeds were taken early (mainly via payments to the towel guys the day before) by the Russians and Germans. Water in the room was not provided each day - we atyed at the Makadi Palace previously and fresh mineral water was brought each day - I think all 5***** hotels should really ensure this is the case. Other comments. Managers and staff leaders were around all the time and always stopped to have a chat. This is a new resort/hotel and is still finding it's feet. The buildings and the design are excellent but the hotel needs to get more british people there. No uk tour operators seem to have this accommodation on their books and they are definitely missing a trick!"

beautiful place......tragic evening entertainment
"The hotel room was lovely, clean and very spacious. There were two small bottles of water in the fridge upon arrival but thats all you got - anything extra is chargeable? Hotel grounds, gardens and pool areas very clean and well maintained but there were no shady areas around the pools and whilst we were there it was too windy to have the parasols up. Beach and sun loungers nice and beach staff very friendly and always happy to assist finding the correct spot on the beach - although you had to be early as the beach got very full very quickly. The evening entertainment was the biggest let down , whilst I can see how the animnation team were very good at entertaining the children throughout the day, unfortunatley the same cannot be said for the shows that they also took part in most nights! The singer in the gazebo bar wasnt in tune and quite hard to listen to and with the awful quality of the alcoholic drinks, you couldnt even get drunk to pass the time.............I drank diet coke for the entire holiday! There were no cocktail or food menus of any kind and the waiters were rushed off their feet almost all the time. They were always very friendly and talkative but this couldnt make up for the constant running out of glasses, mugs, plates, cuttlery etc most meal time (mainly the main buffet restaurant). The food could have been much better too offering more variety and the vegetarian choice was almost non existant but the desserts were very good! No real problems encountered with other guests. Some building works still going on around the hotel but not enough to interfere. A really lovely place but still some way to go with time."

Nice hotel, poor service, not close to five star
"We booked the Deluxe sea view rooms and they were superb, the hotel grounds are well designed and very comfortable, the pools were very clean and well looked after. The problem with the hotel is with the service,it's difficult to get a table for meals as they don't clean them untill you complain, they always run out of cups, glasses or knives and even coffee is difficult to get on most days, having said that, the food is ok. The bars have the same problem as the restaurant, you have to queue for the drinks but are then sometimes told to sit down and wait as they've ran out of glasses, at other times the drinks are served in disposable plastic cups. The final problem with the hotel is the all inclusive, they advertise a mini bar but fail to mention that you have to pay for either a 15 or 18 euro package of drinks each time you need a refill, they charge for orange juice at breakfast, for slushy childrens drinks at the bar and also at the a la carte restaurant. In conclusion, we were dissapointed with the hotel, its a lovely place but the service lets it down."

A good choice
"We stayed at this hotel over the Easter holiday after a Nile cruise., our aim was simply to relax, and it was perfect for that purpose. We were at the hotel for 5 nights and could have stayed longer. The best bits: Lovely rooms, very clean and well presented Fantastic gardens and a lovely setting LOADS fot the kids to do including a couple of water slides As it is such a big resort there is something for everyone Massive choice for the buffet meals... I have never seen such a large buffet in an all inclusive The BBQ restaurant was great and was inclusive Entertainment in the evening was good.. a guy singing all your favourite sing a longs! Beer was from a bottle, not watered down! Doctor on site in case you do go down with a tummy bug!! Nice to be on the beach The not so good bits: Not quite finished, but nearly there Not enough shade round the pool Too far from town to 'pop' in As bad as it may sound the worse thing about the hotel is that fact that the majority of people who go there are Russian. I found them to be rude, for instance one lady pushed me out of the way to get to the food (despite the fact that I am visably pregnant) If you keep yourself to yourself and don't want to be surrounded by other Brits then it is ideal."

Much better than expected, shows much promise
"After reading several reviews from German guests I was a little worried about my stay, however I ws pleasantly surprised by all aspects of our stay. I went with my three young children and husband and everyone enjoyed their stay. It is approx 50 mins from airport, after a six hour flight, it's not really an issue and the driver and guide were friendly and chatty. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so be mindful of this if unlike us, you are not happy jut to stay and relax on the complex. Security guards are noticeable and evident around the clock. The complex looks pretty secure from the front, but there is access from either side of the beach, although again, security is obvious. There were a few English familes, but mainly Russian, German aand Eastern European. Still everyone was friendly enough and much English spoken by both guests and staff. Two kids clubs and not very well used. Although they are German and French run, our children used Solino and the girls there were lovely and spoke English to our children. My children grew quite attached to some of the staff after only a few days in the club. We went for 14 nights and stayed in a family suite (initially we were given two seperate rooms, but then I found out that there were adjoining rooms in existence and asked to be moved). The rooms are large and spacious, cleaned every day, fresh towels etc. Flat screen TV's and much western tv. We always came back to a clean room, as opposed to some of the reviews that I read that said the service was slow. Both rooms that we had had great views although we didnt spend much time in the room other than for washing and sleeping. Rooms are well sound proofed other than the odd banging of external doors. All staff were great, from the managers in the restaurant to the poolside attendants. Treating them with respect and politeness guarantees even better service, and everyone we came into contact with seemed genuinely happy to serve. Although not necessary we did find that adhoc tipping helped too!! We had no problems with loungers on either the beach or poolside - although we did start to reserve loungers in particular areas that we liked (your not supposed to, but everyone does) by getting up a little earlier and putting our towels and beach bags on them. You do get a clean beach towel every day which is worth noting so you don't have to bring your own! Beach is clean, plenty of shade, sand is a little coarse and appears to be like builders sand (children got a little rash from it). Can get a little congested when a new influx of guests arrive. Water is lovely and perfect for both paddling and swimming. there's even the odd little tropical fish to be seen in the shallow water. The pools were great, there is now a warm pool and it was in use for most of our stay, however, on hot days even the cold pools are welcoming!!! Pools are well maintained and clean, however we noticed the water is very drying to skin, so would recommend taking lots of moisturizer for afterwards. There was a little rubbish blowing around first thing on a morning, but this is due to the finishing off that is still ongoing to some of the residential blocks. Other than that everywhere is well maintained and clean. The greenery and flowers are still to flourish, but show much promise. There is also still some construction work underway, but this is mainly the owners residence near the beach, but the noise is hardly noticeable. Food is good but becomes a little monotonous after a few days, however if you use all three restaurants there is more variety and I believe that when the resort is complete, it will offer further options. At peak times we struggled for a table and when there was a large influx of new guests things seem to slow down - table clearing and replenishing of food needs some focus in busy spells. However the waiters maintain a smile on their face an always try to help find a table. Evening entertainment is simple and unsophisticated, but the children seem to enjoy it. Again, the resort will have more to offer and then will probably go more towards earning its 5 star status. Animation team are great - very friendly and enthusiastic, various activities on offer during the day. There are gift shops, selling souveniers, sweets chocolate etc on site and also a simple pharmacy. Apart from one shop, they dont take credit cards and there isn't a cashpoint. There is a cashpoint in a neighboring hotel, but you have to get a cab there and back or alternatively travel into Sofaga which is not completely recommended. Accepted currencies are dollar, sterling, Euro and Egyption Pound with no obvious preference. Steer away from tipping with ppound coins as they re pretty useless and you will only get stung by staff approaching you with handsful of change asking if you can change them !! I came back with approx £40 worth of coins that I had changed for various people! Anyway, we had a lovely holiday and would go back in the future, bit will wait until all is complete then the holiday will be even better."

Overall Very Good
"It is worth noting that the Hotel is a 50 minute ride from the airport, and is more than the 35km stated in the hotel literature. The hotel is in the middle of nowehere with no where to go without a taxi ride. However, the Hotel lobby is stunning, and you get a free drink on arrival. The staff are brilliant and cant do enough for you. The family suite was really great and well furnished with flat screen televisions. The funishings in the room were the best we have seen in Eygypt. Restuarants were clean and had lots on offer. You can get chips and hotdogs as well as buffet food if you use all the restaurants. The main restaurant is repetitive, but that is the case in all Egyptian restaurants. The staff try their best , but need to be managed better to ensure that napkins and knives and forks are available, as often they are not. Pools are great, though were cold when we visited. The slides are great for the kids. The beach was great but the sand stained our clothes,we think the sand is builders sand. The animation team were excellent, there is a kids disco and entertainmet every night. The main guests are Russians and Germans, with very few brits, but they were no problem. Would we go again, yes. If you want to chill out then go for it. The Hotel is geared very much for the family market. Security is excellent with CCTV evident . Security guards are patrolling 24hours a day. Try out the Spa massages, if you haggle you can get a good deal."

Not finished, trying hard, but have not got it right yet
"We booked a week at Caribbean World in order to relax after our Nile cruise. The hotel is going to be stunning when it is finished but therein lies the problem, too many people not enough facilities open yet and building going on around you. Bedrooms The bedrooms are to die for finished extremely well. Food - Caribbean Rest. The food is above average for an AI but the waiting staff despite trying so hard and working so hard are lacking direction and there is not enough of them to ensure a clean table if you go to dinner later that 19.30. Beach Rest. Service apalling but with a smile, food cold. Beach Bar Freezing cold hot dogs, I mean freezing. Guests The hotel is predominently Russian we thought we were the only two English until we found another couple on our second to last day. This did not cause us a problem however they do not respect your need for sleep at 3am. Beach Lovely, unless you are down at the beach by 07.30 you will not get a sun lounger unless you pay the beach guys who save most of them for the highest tippers. I don't think this is fair. Dving My Husband used the CMAS on site dive club and found them to be fine however pricey compared to Dahab and Sharm. Overall We had a very quiet relaxing time but feel that this hotel needs time to mature and needs to attract some more English or not market it in England at all."

"We visited this hotel for new year and it was a great place although not 100% open yet but you can see the potential. There was 13 of us that went and there was a few minor problems but they were sorted out very quickly and the manager Mahmoud was great and did everything possible to make our stay memorable. The staff were friendly and again did everything possible to help. Although there was only 2 places open to eat the food was the best we had had in any of the 6 hotels we have visited in egypt. They are moving very fast to get everything open and im sure by easter the hotel will be fully operational, although this did not affect our stay as the main parts and everything you needed were open, The gym, kids club, disco, bank, some of the restaurants and shops were yet to open. The pools all looked lovely and the kids enjoyed the heated pool and the slides although the water were the slides were was freezing. The beach was great and there was plenty of activities. The accomadation was A1, all in all we had a great time."
