Waiting for compensation
"Anyone who was on the majesty the week of the fire can you tell me if you have got your compensation money yet. Emails have been sent and i have been told money will come to us by cheque. We got off cruise 25th Oct 16 and see still waiting this is a joke. This cruise was for my husband's 70th so hence birthday spoilt. Now all this chasing up. Don't see why it could not be put straight back into our account."

First cruise disappointed
"Had plenty of Thompson land holidays, all good, first cruise unlucky and disappointed, Majesty ship old and shabby, the sun beds were Terrible marked moldy, through better in the Skip , towels, and bedding washed to death clean but grey , food good, entertainment good, my holiday cost Â£1200 .00 pounds, my own cabin , fire on ship in engine room, floating in Mediterranean ocean for 6 hours at night people were frightened, not proper information, missed two places , had trip booked in one, stuck in Italy for 2 half days got a good will payment of Â£160.00 not good enough, my last Cruise. "

" This holiday was from hell . The ship caught fire , we were left in the middle of the ocean for 5 and a half hours in the dark . People stuck in lifts . Toilets over flowing . The ship was tired and dirty and we missed 2 and a half ports .it smelt of sewage . The aftercare is disgusting !!!"

A holiday of many contrasts
"The ship was very clean when we traveled with my sister just over the last week. 99.9% of staff - amazing - helpful, friendly, polite and so hard- working. The food - very average, but ok for what I'd cook for myself. Our cabin- was a 3-person cabin, so I guess we just got lucky as last time on Thomson dream it felt tiny. The main problem was that a generator in the engine had a little fire and we missed 2 out of 6 ports, Calvi and Marseille. We did get a partial refund for those 2days, but that's not the point, we went Ina cruise specifically to see all those places, not only3. We were in Barcelona only at 1pm on the day too, which, even though the stay was extended until the evening, in October, 85felt like we had missed a good part of the day. Traditionally, very poor slow wifi and extremely expensive at Â£8 per hour. Come on Thomson, get a grip! This should be for free for your customers who have already spent hundreds on the cruise and will keep on spending on various other things such as excursions or drinks onboard! There should be at least an hour a day for free if not completely free wifi. Entertainment... boring for someone on their 30s. Except for the comedy night (45 minutes), it's all a bit lame. How about a cinema night? More contemporary music shows. Just make it all more contemporary if you want to attract more young customers. I love cruises because you can move from place to place without having to worry about it but I usually go to bed at 10pm the latest every night as there's not much to do once you're back onboard from your day activities. If there are issues with the ship, don't downplay it. Keep people updated and show you appreciate it's really far from ideal to be stuck in one port for 3 out of 7 days. "

"DO NOT stay on this ship if you want to go to sleep. The noise from the engines at the back of the ship was so bad the tea cups and everything else shook. When it docked in early morning we were awake for about an hour. Make a complaint for a ruined holiday a got a SORRY letter and nothing else. They have refused to answer and other letters. Disgusting"

"Having cruised with P & O on many occasions decided to have a change and cruise with Thomsons. On arrival the check-in was efficient. Our outside cabin was roomy and pleasant and had everything we needed. The food was of a good standard and the waiting/bar staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Although a smaller ship than we had previously cruised on it had everything we needed and the cleanliness was an acceptable standard. Entertainment was ok nothing to write home about but what we expected. Drinks prices were very reasonable. Now to the facilities. The main sun deck comprised of the main pool with two jacuzzis and a smaller pool, two bar pools and two restaurants which, was adequate. However after our 2nd day of cruising the main pool and both jacuzzis were cordoned off and closed for maintenance for the remainder of our 7-night cruise. Then followed 5 days of constant noise from power tools, dust and paint fumes on the main deck where you were unable to relax or sunbathe. The one pool bar was closed for the remainder of the cruise. Whilst I am no stranger to cruising and totally understand, general day to day maintenance is necessary I do not think that this is acceptable for 5 days out of 7 of your cruise. Although we registered our complaint whilst onboard and with Thomsons upon our return Thomsons in all honesty, were a waste of time. Had I known that this was going to take place for the majority of our cruise I would have booked an alternative. It's a shame that Thomsons don't value their customers and this reason I will not be cruising with Thomsons again."

Lovely chilled holiday
"This was my second cruise and I really enjoyed it. Boat was lovely, not too big. Lots of facilities and places to chill. The food options were great. We ate in the seven seas all week. Excellent food options. The desserts were tasteless but well presented. The breakfast and lunch buffets on deck 10 had lots of choice. Staff were all amazing and work so hard to please. Really clean everywhere and my only complaints were the missing alcohol in the cocktails - we didn't choose the drinks package so were paying for our drinks therefore will never accept the watered down drinks!! Also the fee for using the safety deposit box. I will never understand this. The last gripe was the cost of WiFi. Although it was great to be WiFi free for a week. But seriously the charge for this was crazy. Cannot understand the other complaints. Some ports were not stunning looking but the excursions were great to see different places and well organized. Luckily we had good weather but know we cannot blame the company for the weather being bad. Our cabin was on deck 7 and as expected it was comfortable but again who is in their room for the whole of their trip? Our air conditioning did not work and it was fixed straight away. They were also maintaining the ship everyday. On one evening the winds were so high we couldn't sail but the captain ensured we caught up on time. Really nice holiday would definitely do another. "

Brilliant first time cruise!
"Brilliant cruise for first time cruising. Never been on a cruise before and really enjoyed this as it was recommended by family. Staff was always smiling and very friendly and always greeted you even if you just walked past them. Food was brilliant spent most of nights in Seven Seas Restaurant which is a must as the food is outstanding and there is a large choice on the menu. Different meals every night in each restaurant. Wide range of entertainment everyday to suit all ages including Quizzes to a great comedian. Would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone. We did the Mediterranean Medley itinerary and it was brilliant. Pools are lovely but are salt water instead of chlorine. "

Honeymoon let down
"We traveled on 7 June 2016 in cabin 491. Cabin stewards were friendly and attentive. Cabin was cramped and difficult to man oeuvre to the only vacant side of bed. Had leak from ceiling which took over 2 hours to fix, just told us to go have a drink and come back later. Exceptionally noisy at times, mainly banging sounds, think it is over a storage area for waste often kept us awake. Last evening when preparing to go for final meal, unable to shower as both taps giving out hot water so scalding shower. "Repaired by emptying the tank supplying cold water" whole of our side on aft affected. Managed one of us to shower then water had reheated. So went out with sun cream still on and only ate. Same problem next morning, smelly trip back off ship. Did trip to Rome in a day tour guide did not wait for coach to empty and lost him a number of times. Told tour staff who initially laughed but realized problem yet did nothing as it had happened. Booked 2 more tours Menorcan one was good Butone in Corsica involved two near misses, one caused by coach driver on phone not noticing oncoming vehicle who had priority at a roundabout. Challenged staff later who said rules are different in different countries. True but Thomson can lay down their own rules too! Food was acceptable and what I would expect in a good 2 star hotel or average 3 star one. Plenty of it. Had drinks package but horrified to learn had to pay extra for water. There was a notice stating that we should not drink the ship's water due to chlorination. Begs the question what the chilled water available in buffet canteen which also did post mix juice came from? Surely that was also the water we were told not to drink. Not a good start to our honeymoon after the way it was sold and described at the travel agents. May never cruise again after that. If we do it will be with a proper one that our friends have recommended. "

"Just returned from a week cruising round the med. First time cruise had a wonderful time. All amenities on board 100%. Great entertainment, food and spotlessly clean. Couple of the ports not very pretty, but once you left he ship for the day and ventured further afield it was fine. Definitely will book again in the future. Great starter."

"Food and service was great, kids running around everywhere, two hot tubs should be named paddling pools, kids in gym too. You are not meant to save sun beds, people was saving them at 8am for their return at 2pm. Never again "

"Staff and food was lovely. Kids running around. Two hot tubs meant to be adults being used like paddling pools. Kids using the gym. People putting towels on sun beds at 8am for return from trips at 2pm, it says they will be moved they weren't I picked this thinking I was getting something a bit special. Ship fumes and air con made me very ill. Never again! "
