Best place in the world ever!

"My family and I (husband & 2 girls aged 12 & 9) have stayed at Solaris 3 years running and have booked again for 2011. There is something about this place that draws you back year after year. I always said that I would never go back to the same place for my holiday but when it comes to booking it I just can't risk going anywhere else. We book direct with Kostas who responds to all your enquiries very quickly and can also arrange transfers from and to the airport for you at an extra cost (no stopping to drop off holidaymakers at every hotel on the way which is a real bonus!). All the staff are fantastic and there's such a lovely family friendly atmosphere. There is plenty of shade around the 2 pools and you can get a sunbed at any time during the day so no getting up at the crack of dawn to put your towels down! The snack bar serves a wide variety of food, drinks and ice-cream and is reasonably priced. My kids love the milkshakes and fruit cocktails, speaking of which George makes the best Mojito ever! We stay in a superior 2 bedroomed apartment and think it is worth paying that little extra for a fortnights luxury! The apartment has everything you need (the shower is wonderful) and it's great that the kids have their own bedroom and don't have to sleep in the lounge which we have hated in the past. The maid is excellent with service 6 times a week. If you need any extra pillows or towels etc. you only have to ask.

Solaris is situated down a cobbled street off the quiet main road through Kassiopi. It is perfectly situated for all your needs and I highly recommend a visit to the bakery! The main square is about a minutes walk with a supermarket in the corner and about 3 mins walk from the harbour. There are about 3 large supermarkets in Kassiopi for your every day needs. The resort of Kassiopi itself is lovely village with a beautiful harbour and some of the best food I have ever eaten. I highly recommend Strofilia, Uncle Simos, Petrinos, Kassiopi Star and of course Yanis with its wonderful views of the sunset for a special night out. Even though the nightlife is bustling in the summer months we don't find it too noisy and busy, just the right kind of atmosphere I would say. Kassiopi is very safe for children and teenagers and we quite often send our girls to the shops and bakery for supplies. They even walk down to the harbour to grab themselves a Giro for lunch!

There are several beaches/coves around the headland and recommend Kalamaki beach for the day. It is a sandy, gently shelving beach with plenty of room for the kids to play, and you can't go past here without stopping at the ice cream parlour!

I highly recommend Solaris and Kassiopi for a great family holiday.

Kassimi Catastrophe

"I have ticked the "would recommend" box for this review as the view from the Kassimi is amazing and so welcoming at any time of the day. Unfortunately the same could not be said for the rest of our stay. On arrival at the Kassimi our part of 14 were given the complete runaround, being sent to rooms that were already allocated, rooms that had no locks on the doors (resulting in being woken up several times during the night) and rooms that even had no door handles on. Two members of our party were in their seventies and had to move their cases up and down and up and down between the floors which was completely unreasonable. Within an hour of our arrival we were frustrated by Nicos's lack of interest and Kassimi was hence forth renamed "Fawlty Towers". The rep who arrive the next day was however excellent and dealt with all problems efficiently, which was good as we didn't see Nicos again until we checked out at the end of our holiday! Be aware that certain rooms have am extremely limited harbour view, looking onto wasteland, although you will be expected to pay the sea view supplement - something that Thomson really shouldn't be charging for anyway as all rooms are harhour facing. Nice littler earner there Thomson! I would recommend the Kassiopi as there is nothing to fault the resort on, however "Fawlty Towers" leaves a lot to be desired (and I haven't even mentioned the breakfasts!)."

We stayed at these apartments in one...

"We stayed at these apartments in one of the superior ones which were very comfortable, clean and well equiped. Although there was not much of a view it was more than made up for by the excellent position and lovely poolside amenities. They are in a brilliant position with flat short walks to the harbourside, the beaches and the town. The owners who personally run the place and are there every day are lovely, friendly and would help with any requests. Will be returning.

One mention with regard to the organised trips by the local travel organisers. Due to the lack of tourists at this time if a trip was not full i.e. a trip to other side of the Island they would put you on another trip to make up the coach full and then you would be spending hours picking up and dropping off and maybe not getting the trip you requested. Also ensure you are on a comfortable air conditioned bus not a mini bus that we were put on!

Corfu beautiful place Kassioppi seemed the best position to us for all requirements i.e. lovely harbourside, bars and restaurants and beaches although they are pebbly not sandy there.

Solaris apartments - Great!

"Booked to stay at Solaris apartments, having checked out other reviews on Trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. It was clear that the studio we were staying in had been recently refurbished and was just by the side of the pool, perfect location.

The whole complex itself is so central and yet is still so quiet at night - lots of sleep!!

The staff are more than helpful and we took up the offer of booking a taxi to collect us from the airport which was great.

My only comment would be and its a minor one - that the towels could do with being changed a bit more, only once the whole week we were there.

Overall a great relaxing holiday. If you go, definately check out Janis Taverna and a walk round the harbour is lovely at sunset.

We'd definately go back.

Kassiopi my favourite place in Carfu

"We have been going to Kassiopi for 10 years, staying in the Solaris Appartment Complex for the last 8 years.

Solaris is just a few yards from the main square in Kassiopi but remains quiet and secluded. It has two nice swimming pools, a lovely bar where excellent food is prepared and served all day.

The pool and surrounding areas are very clean as are the appartments. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Check out their website on It is just the perfect place for singles, couples and families alike. We like it so much that we book again for the following year at the beginning of our holiday.

Solaris Kassiopi Corfu

"Solaris apartments in Kassiopi are fantastic! We stayed there for 2 weeks at the end of August and we had a really great holiday. The apartments are of a very good standard - you can choose between the standard & superior. We stayed in the standard. The apartments were very clean and had all the amenities you would expect, i.e kitchen area, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, fridge freezer and balcony/terrace area. The superior apartments have recently been renovated and are very modern and spacious. The family who run the apartments are really friendly, helpful and will always go out of their way to make you feel at home - nothing is too much trouble. The apartments are in an ideal location - right in the middle of Kassiopi but at no stage do you ever hear any noise. If you intend to stay here contact Kostas via their website to arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport."

what you would exspect and more

"I have not been back long from my holiday of two weeks in the sun at the luxurious complex of solaris in kassiopi. The servise in the compex was excellent, you could'nt of asked for any better. There is two pools wich are surrounded by the sunbeds which was great, they were both a good size 'just right'. The bar (which done great cocktails) was in the middle of the complex with a pool on either side.

The bar was very good for food, which was nice as the days you wanted to stay by the pool you did'nt have to go out for food. There was also good entertainment on at the pool bar on a night time, there was a quiz on more a less every couple of nights and other things were on like the greek night which was good to see and join in. We did not really go anywere else on a night time as we were happy in the complex with our cocktails, which we could not get enough of, that were alway made with a smile by the lovey bar men.

The location is very good as it was a five minute walk if that, to the habour that has lots of shops and good restaurants to the beach was not far at all, which was magenificent the water was so clear it was heven to be there. If you like swimming, i would recomend the aqua park which was brill. we went for the day at the start of week one then went again in the second week we enjoyed it that much.

All the locals were really friendly, and the majority of them spoke good english. the holiday was apsurluitly fab, it was hard to leave when our last day came, i could have stayed it was that good. It is deffinetly a place you have got to go and stay at. If you like having fun, a friendly atmosphere and beutifull scenary then solaris is your place. I could go on forever. It is a definate value for money holiday and i would give it 110% of my vote to go there, so get your self along and have a good, fun and unforgettable holiday in corfu, it's a must definate do. sarah x

What a great place Corfu is. This was...

"What a great place Corfu is. This was our first time Greek we normally go canaries, but wow what can I say.

The resort is great, so so friendly, all bars nice and close and no pressure to get you in, you can browse the menus outside and no one will bother you.

We stayed at the Eli which is a bit of a walk from the Solaris pool but found a short cut.

Nice 2 bed apartment which needed a bit of updating, but it was nice. Had a view of the harbour, and is a detached apartment out of the 2 of them and they are not close or joined, so we never saw or heard the people in the other apartment.

The 2 pools are nice, pool bar does snacks which are okay not the cheapest or best but if you want to stay round the pool all day, it’s good.

But the locals in Kassiopi are so friendly.

When I win the lottery I will buy a place here overlooking the harbour.

Solaris Kassiopi - the best

"Solaris - The Best in Kassiopi

I have been going to Kassiopi for the last 18 years, i was 3 when i went and have just been over to celebrate my 21st birthday!

Me and my family have stayed in many different apartments in Kassiopi but have never stayed anywhere quite as nice as Solaris.

This year we stayed in the solaris apartments, which were fantastic, very clean and all have free air-con!!! The sheets/towels are changed regularly and as for putting the loo roll in a bin - not really a great hardship!!!

Solaris apartments are run by Kostas and family who are all lovely people and are very friendly and welcoming, and who can forget the barman Yani !!

The apartments are in an excellent location right near the centre and equally as close to the beautiful harbour.

If you dont fancy venturing out much then you dont need to as there is always plenty of amusing entertainment on around the pool, quiz nights, BBQ's and amazing Greek nights (the staff dance too -very good!!) - all WELL WORTH going.

The apartment was very clean and spacious, definately the nicest apartments is Kassiopi.

If anyone is debating booking this - then get it booked you will not regret it, i got home 5days ago and i have just booked to go again and stay at Solaris in August.

Definately an all round accomodation, for families, couples or lone travellers.

i would give Solaris 10/10 for cleanliness, friendliness and the apartment was excellent on the whole, very comfortable and chilled out. There is a wide variety of food available at the pool bar which is delicious- oh and who can forget the pools, they are lovely, very cean and the pool area equally as clean, there's a pool table and seating area out of the sun and recover from all that ouzo!!!

Solaris is fantastic and i will definately be staying there again - i would recommend Kassiopi to anyone.

not up to expected standard

"Arriving on 12th May, we were four of not so many guests at the Solaris.

The staff were always polite and friendly.

Whilst the apartments were clean, they were very small.

We had to pay for safe deposit boxes, ok but 10 euros a week.

We had to buy a toilet roll after the first one was finished , we were told "only one"

The bed sheets weren't changed all week, the towels twice.

There was no entertainment at all, even though it is advertised in the brochure, on the website and on the tv in each room.

We do not feel the Solaris fulfilled our expectations this time.
