really good

"really couldnt complain about our apartments ..they were clean even though the cleaner never came every day..the only thing we missed not having was air conditioning .i would advise any1 to rent out a fan-its 15euro a week bt worth it if there available..but we soon got used to not having no airconditioning..we really liked our pool was spacious and nobody ever bothered us..the irish centre was full of pubs for us..and we were very central to everything, never had to get a taxi, and if we did they were always near..we found that the staff of the apartments were mostly really nice and never gave us any bother, even coming home late at nights the security guard was deadon with us and never said anything bout anyone else coming back...really dont think i would have enjoyed staying anywere else as much..we went to a few other apartments and they were so small compared to ours and we didnt have one cockcroach compared to them...if your stayin in that area definately go to was the best irish pub-this year anyway..really enjoyed our girls holiday there.."

"It was nice and clean apartments and cleaners didn't steal money, they didn't even take money which we left for them. Pool area was very tidy, close to the beach (5min), Its not a 5* Hotel but it was brilliant. There are a lot of bars and restaurant around the place and many supermarkets,"

"Awful apartments - We were overlooking wasteland, got the sun on our balcony for an hour in the evening everyday, one small caged window in our bedroom and no air conditioning. It was one of the most miserable depressing apartments and the staff were very unfriendly. Would not recommend these apartments to anyone."

What can I say? Apart from don't book...

"What can I say? Apart from don't book the Agaete Park Hotel! Group of 10 people, 18-25, staying for 2 weeks Sept 2006, £479 to stay in a 2* hovel.

We arrived at 5am, into the reception which was reminiscent of a scene from 1970s or Fawlty Towers or something; woodchip walls, and a battered looking old ceiling fan. Yes; there was no air conditioning at all, infact, if we wanted a fan we had to pay 25euros per week. This was on top of the 50euros deposit per person that was demanded from us at reception upon check in. They even took photocopies of our passports.

And self catering??? hardly. 15euros to loan their disgusting kettle per week. 10euros to loan their toaster. An oven that didn't even work. A fridge that we found 2 dead cockroaches in!

As we switched on the lights in our apartment, about a dozen cockroaches ran for cover into our bathroom. Towels were barely clean. I even had the pleasure of a cockroach run up my leg one night in bed. We were eventually moved to a different room.

Staff were rude more often than not, and a security guard was on the prowl every night around the floors, telling us to shut up, be quiet, or calm down. Patronizing as I'm sure you can imagine.

Actually, the best thing about the "hotel" was probably the downstairs bar's chips!

Just back from Agaete Park...

"Just back from Agaete Park apartments, would recommend the place. Very clean, good staff , great pool. There is pool tables around the bar and the best bit is that it is only 1 min from the Irish centre and 5 mins from the English centre. It is great value for money, maybe a bit noisy for a family, but for 18-25 age group these are great apartments in the area."

"Hi, first time to Gran Canaria was a fab holiday location! The apartments themselves were in a great spot directly across from the Irish Centre! Clean rooms, and great size pool! The bar in the apartments was quite cheap and served drinks all day!

The wee man would come round with cocktails :):) Its quite noisy so better for young people. There is a wee cafe beside the apartments that sells food all day and late at night, they were very friendly but be aware of the staff in the apartments. They were not very welcoming or friendly our safe didn't work and they took ages to fix it!

We did the booze cruise which was brill! Cost only 20 euros and got free cocktails and beer all day! The weather was amazing really hot during the day and a bit cooler at night which is good for the frizzy hair :)

Would recommend it to all young fun people :)

I went to these apartments both in...

"I went to these apartments both in July 2004 and 2005 and am about to book them again for 2007.

The rooms were quite spacious and cleaned daily. The pool and restaurant/bar downstairs were nice and there seemed to be a good friendly atmosphere between all the guests.

Security as mentioned in another post could be some what abrupt however; they were also good at their job as we heard of non-guests wandering around some of the other apartment complexes.

There is a €100 security deposit; however I had been informed of this prior to departure. I will agree that trying to get up to the 1st floor with cases was hard but after that there is a lift.

I visited friends in some of the close by other apartments and in comparison our apartments were luxury and a lot cleaner.

They are in the middle of all the action but again most brochures state that it is a very young and lively complex.

I wouldn't suggest for couples but I think great for groups of friends looking for fun!

We recently got back from a weeks...

"We recently got back from a weeks stay in these apartments, seemed like the longest week of my life. It was our first time away on a girls holiday and we were not told about the standard deposit that must be paid leaving everyone down 50 Euro on the first night.

Then after hogging our suitcases up the stairs without as much as a second look from the guys at reception, we were shown to our apartments. When we booked we asked for all our rooms to be together with a pool view, this was not the case and not our fault. When we asked at reception we were told that it was ok to change rooms so longs as we paid another 20 Euros!

This was not the hospitality we were expecting, it seemed like all they cared about was money! However the apartments were clean but for the girls with 3 in a room there was no bed linen for the sofa bed, or any extra sheets as would usually be found.

We got used to sleeping without air con and being on different floors from each other but then we were greeted by the security man who so politely let himself into our bedrooms while we were changing! He barged in on numerous occasions without knocking. Another security guard then came in to our apartment at 10.50pm to shout at us "GET INSIDE NOW!" we were sitting on the balcony having a quiet drink. He told us we had to be quiet at 11.00pm even though it clearly stated at reception that it was 12.00am.

So as you can see, for a week’s holiday it was very eventful. I will never be back to Agaete Park.

We stayed at Agaete Park Hotel for...

"We stayed at Agaete Park Hotel for one week. The rooms were okay, they were cleaned but the sheets were not changed for the whole time we were there.

The location and the pool are perfect if you are Irish, we are not though. The hotel was not situated too far from the Kasbar - English Centre, which was good (5min walk). The hotel is opposite the Irish centre so very loud all through the night and will keep you awake until 6am as there is no air conditioning so you will need to keep your balcony doors open. eing at the pool was like being in Dublin - lots of very clicky Irish about and can be a bit intimidating. They are very loud so if you want to relax or sleep in the sun then go to the beach - its hotter there.

Will not be going back to Playa del Ingles as we found it very young and quiet dirty and smelly. However we went to Puerto Rico which was much nicer it was more coupley and not so many loud and annoying teenagers

My friends and I stayed in these...

"My friends and I stayed in these apartments in July 2004 and we have no complaints whatsoever with them. For a bunch of lads on holiday we weren’t looking for top luxury accommodation just somewhere basic, clean and ideal location and that’s what we got here.

The room was cleaned on a regular basis with fresh towels and clean linen, the pool was nice and just walk across the road and the Irish centre is there, we couldn’t ask for more! We plan to go back again next year at the same time and we are going to stay here! Many thanks to the staff, c ye all again soon!
