Zakynthos City on the island of Zante
Zante, also known as Zakynthos, is the third largest and most southerly of the Ionian Islands. It has an almost triangular shape with a coastline stretching for over 70 miles.
Most of the popular holiday resorts can be found along the southern and eastern coasts of the island, with the north of the island consisting mainly of mountainous countryside. Resorts such as Tsilivi and Laganas are well known party hotspots with Alykanas and Kalamaki offering a slower pace and more relaxed holiday.
Weather wise, the island is best visited between June and September where you will be guaranteed sunshine and average temperatures in the mid 20s. This is also a great time to visit to witness the rare loggerhead turtles turning up on Laganas beach to nest.

- Kalamaki: Visit the beaches and try the restaurants GildaRugby
- Laganas: Go to Bad Boys on the beach for a great night out! MariaChiesa091
- Tsilivi: ...see both parts. We were unaware that down the road about half a mile is another part with bowling centre, more shops and restaurants. TowniesLeedsLulu
- Argassi: will visit the little but nice beach and the clubs there are good restaurants and the supermarket is good it has many things! iro_gatelouza
- Kalamaki: check out the nightlife! Great resturants/bars and even Karaoke! :) Brown392
- Laganas: if you want peace dont stay near the "Strip" where the bars and nightlife is, Hotel Castelli is 20 mins away and quiet lovfam
- Argassi: Take plenty of sun cream and enough money as no cash points were working, although a few shops and hotels will change up money. lucylou1971
