Holiday Watchdog: Sveti Konstantin Reviews
This compact resort lies on the coast of the Black Sea, approximately 17km from Varna airport. Built in the 1950's Sveti Konstantin was Bulgaria's first purpose built resort. It is a quiet resort popular amongst couples and more mature families wanting a good value, quiet break.
Swimming is safe as the beach is patrolled by coastguards and slopes gently into the sea. Watersports and boating are available at the Marina. Series of golden coves and long stretches of sand backed bu rugged land.
Night life is low key and centred mainly around the hotel bars, especially the Grand Varna's bar, nightclub and casino. There are a few restaurants in resort but food is bland and menus simple. There are buses into Varna and Golden Sands every 30 minutes for those wanting to explore.
Shopping is limited to a couple of souvenir shops and stalls selling handicrafts, cigarettes and alcohol. Day and overnight trips can be booked through tour operators to Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Sofia, Istanbul and Cairo. |
