High above Stroud on the wilds of Rodborough common is the Bear Hotel. Originally built as a coaching inn and it has recently undergone a careful and precise restoration returning it to its former glory. The view from the 2 AA rosette awarded Mulberry Restaurant overlooks the Woodchester Valley and on summer evenings there are often barbecues on the terrace.

The Imperial Hotel Holiday Reviews

The Imperial Hotel

Located adjacent to Stroud's main-line railway station, there are direct links to London's Paddington and all points west, plus of course, less regular but as reliable, the rest of the country. Once a coaching inn, from the moment you arrive, the Imperial wraps you in its warmth and friendliness. It is a hotel with a history spanning nearly 200 years and the gentle manners to match, is how one contented resident described it. By car, we are just 10 minutes away from the M5 and 25 minutes away from the M4.
