Holiday Watchdog: Skala Reviews

Skala Holiday Reviews

Skala is Famous for its 6kms of sandy/shingle beach, with its backdrop of pine trees and mountains. It is truly a breathtaking sight. It is for this reason that Skala is often referred to as Kefalonia’s ‘best kept secret’. A selection of water sports and a good sprinkling of bars and restaurants make Skala, Kefalonia’s second most popular resort. As does the nightlife, which is low key and informal. Skala can be found around a 60 minute drive from the airport.

You are sure to enjoy the cosy atmosphere and efficient service here, an English breakfast can be laid on for you (for an extra charge). The hotel’s location couldn’t be more convenient, with the beach, restaurants and shops all 150m away.
Despite being a popular resort, Skala has retained the true essence of a typical Greek village. There is a small high street with a selection of shops selling Greek art, ceramic ware, pottery and jewellery. Skala's lovely long beach is worth visiting and you can try your hand at watersports in the summer (June -September). There are plenty of restaurants to be found. Skala's nightlife varies from a traditional taverna, where you can drink ouzo with a local fisherman, to a lively music bar where you can dance the night away!
