Seychelles Holidays
View from La Digue Island looking towards the mainland
Lying just off of Africa’s East Coast, the Seychelles are a collection of 115 islands, many of which remain uninhabited.
The three main holiday destination islands are: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. The island of Mahe is the largest island in the Seychelles and home to the capital: Victoria. Praslin is the second largest island and has many idyllic beaches spread along its coast offering ideal diving conditions. This is also where the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve is located. La Digue is much smaller and quieter in comparison to Mahe and Praslin and is best explored by bicycle, which are readily available for rent on the island.
The year round daily temperature sits in the mid 20s and is accompanied by quite high humidity levels during the monsoon season which begins around November and continues on to April. From May through to October the humidity levels fall and are replaced by strong cooling winds.
Flights to the Seychelles land at the Seychelles International Airport which is located on the island of Mahe. From here there are ferry shuttles to the surrounding islands.
