The Italian island of Sardinia is situated below Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea, and is the second largest of the Mediterranean Islands.

Sardinia is an island that manages to combine a variety of holiday experiences in one. Cultural tourists have plenty to keep them occupied due to Sardinia’s rich history of invaders who have left their mark on the island. Roman remains are abundant throughout Sardinia and there are numerous museums to explore. Those in search of an active break can take up cycling, horse-riding, climbing, as well as various watersports from sailing to windsurfing. Finally, beaches is what Sardinia does best with long stretches of idyllic sandy coast as well as small secluded coves all looking out over the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Weather conditions in Sardinia are typically Mediterranean with the winters being mild and the summers experiencing average temperatures in the mid to high 20s.

There are 3 main airports in Sardinia, the largest being Cagliari Airport; which serves the South of the island, Olbia Airport; serving the centre and the North, and Alghero Airport, the central and north-west.
