The Maston Aitio cabins are a newly built in a quiet location but well accessible for the skiing. There are a total of 14 cabins, each of which holds two cabin-apartments. Each apartment has its own private exterior entrance. The Sokos Hotel is located in Kuusamo and the bus stop is just outside for the free service to the slopes of Ruka. Whilst providing good facilities and service, the hotel also offers excellent value for money. The Kuusamon Tropiikki is a winter oasis combining warmth, relaxation and comfort, the perfect retreat after a day of winter activities. The hotel has 120 comfortable and high standard double rooms. Each room has its own colour TV complete with satellite channels along with a minibar. Also included are bath towels and bathrobes, sandals and hairdryer. The hotel has superb spa and treatment facilities with saunas, jacuzzis, a sun cave and a superb pool area. For the younger ones there is also the safety of the children's pool. Regular buses run from the hotel to Ruka's ski slopes taking approximately 25 minutes each way.
Set in an idyllic location amongst the trees, these comfortable apartments are set within a log cabin style building (usually 4 apartments per cabin). It is a 6 minutes' walk to the local shops and a 15 minute's ride by bus to the ski lifts and the centre of Ruka. The cabins all have a fireplace with wood provided in each apartment along with TV/VCR, drying closet and private sauna.
