Midway along the Costa Brava in Northeast Spain, Pineda de Mar is 16km from Lloret de Mar and 48km from Girona airport.
Mainly suited to middle-aged and more mature visitors there is very little nightlife apart from one disco on the beachfront.
The nearby hills provide good trails for walking and cycling. The main square in the resort centre offers a number of boutiques and good quality shops.
Pineda de Mar lies on a long, wide beach which is usually peaceful and uncrowded.
