Holiday Watchdog: Olu Deniz Reviews
Olu Deniz takes its name from the beautiful blue lagoon located a few hundred yards from the main town. The beach itself stretches for several miles, but the most popular section is the lagoon with its stunning backdrop of mountains and pine forest.
This area has been designated a National Park and there is a small entrance charge, but it is well worth paying. The warm clear waters of the Blue Lagoon are ideal for swimming and snorkelling, there are shaded areas suitable for picnicking, showers and snack bars dotted all around the lagoon, to get to some of the best sandy beaches you really need to take a Taxi, and head for "Bobs beach". In my opinion this is the best part of the lagoon.
In the main town, the seafront is crammed with provision stores, bars and restaurants, many with roof terraces perfect for enjoying the sunset and the wonderful views. There are many bargain shops you can pick up all of your gifts, and lots more besides, "Take an empty suitcase" You will find you need one after shopping in Olu Deniz. Nightlife is really relaxed here most people gather in the outdoor restaurants and cafes in the evening for a meal and a few drinks. If you are looking for club land its not here, if you venture a bit further to Hisaronu there you will find plenty of nightlife, clubs and disco’s. There is something for everyone here. Once you have had a holiday in the beautiful surroundings of Olu Deniz you will be back year after year. The place and the people are enchanting. Paradise found.
