Lying in the Aegean Sea, and belonging to the Cyclades group of islands, Mykonos is one of the most popular Greek islands. It has a long history of celebrity visitors stretching all the way back to the 1960s.

Many travellers to Mykonos come for the vast array of beaches and vibrant nightlife. Most of the bars and clubs on the island are concentrated in the capital, Mykonos Town or Chora as it is also known, although there are numerous beach parties that take place on the popular Paradise and Super Paradise beaches located on the south coast of the island.

The weather is also a good reason why this island is so popular, with summer temperatures averaging around the mid 20s and easily moving into the 30s during the months of July and August. The good weather continues into October with around 8 hours of daily sunshine although the odd heavy shower can start to occur as the month progresses.

Mykonos Island National Airport serves the island and is located a few miles from Mykonos Town.
