Maspalomas is located on the south coast of Gran Canaria 20 miles south west of Las Palmas Airport.
Maspalomas is a modern resort, which measures approximately 3 by 2 miles. Maspalomas is made up of extensive residential estates and private villas. West from the fringes of Playa del Ingles towards the small beachside settlement of Oasis Maspalomas lies a golf course and some modern shopping centres.
Maspalomas is quieter than it’s close neighbour, Playa del Ingles. Although the summer attracts younger party minded crowds. The upmarket area of Oasis Maspalomas attracts more well heeled guests.
Maspalomas Beach is a gently sloping beach of fine sand that runs virtually unbroken towards Playa del Ingles. It is backed by a magnificent expanse of dunes that extend over a mile inland – watch out for the ‘naturist’ sun bathers! The water here is clear and generally safe, there is also a falg system in operation. The shoreline running west along the promenade is rocky and therefore unsuitable for swimming.
