Approx 45km from Malaga airport, Marbella is a distinctly Eurpean resort at the western end of the Costa del Sol. The area is known as the jetsetters capital of the 'sunshine coast' and many celebrities own property here. Puerto Banus is well worth a visit and is where the rich moor their multi million dollar yachts in summer. A shoppers paradise, Marbella has no end of designed boutiques and pricey restaurants. day trips are available in resort to Seville, Grenada, Nerja and Malaga to name but a few.
There are almost 20 beaches throughout resort through most are man made with imported sand. The central beach is the biggest and most popular and can become crowded in high season. There are no end of golf courses, up beat nightclubs and watersports available too.
Mostly upmarket hotels and private villas, although some self catering apartment complexes as well. Beaches slope gently into the sea and are well suited for families with children. |
